All things considered, I like this housing. I don’t like the honor code, but the management have treated me very well.

I lived here for a summer term at BYU to get a feel for BYU before I committed to the school. I LOVED the proximity to campus. The south side of BYU is mostly houses and most of the big apartment complexes are to the north of campus, so the Village never had too much traffic or commotion around it. For the apartments I give a 4 star. The granite counter tops and stainless steel kitchen are so nice and reminded me of home. There were two bathrooms and 4 single rooms. The showers were tiny and the beds were exceptionally uncomfortable. For the management, I give a 2 star rating. They take a long time to fix problems and to get people parking passes. The parking garage is super nice and secure but even with it only being half full over the summer the management still took a month to get me a spot. I did also like the restaurants on the first floor of the Village, by the gym and pool and hot tub. For they drama of this place though, I give a single star, if that. The people that live here are for the most part self absorbed adults that are breaking the BYU honor code. I was exposed to some great people and some awful people too. Lots of fake friends. It’s all for show here. I would not live here again. Go for a more social place. I had a really hard time making friends since the rooms and floors are so separated.

OK so here’s the deal with«The Village». They are some of the newest student apartments in The Valley. There is no doubt that they are very nice and have good quality, but if I am paying over $ 400/month for a room in the Provo/Orem area, I expect the bedroom to be more than a captain’s bed, desk, and small closet. The rooms are tiny tiny, and the bathrooms, although very nice, are shared. The common space is very nice and I love the high ceilings, granite counters and the flat panel TVs, but is it worth pay $ 425 for a tiny room? To some, yes, but to me, definitely not. The pool area is hands down the nicest I’ve seen as far as student housing is concerned. The pool is huge and always sparkling clean. The hot tub is also large and always has a social crowd.
