This place was awesome! My boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere to get some breakfast on our bike ride. We stopped in at the smokehouse on a Sunday morning around 9:30am and despite how busy they were, we immediately got a seat at the counter. The tables are picnic style which means that you may be sharing a table with other guests, but that’s cool! We ordered our breakfast and then I spilled my coffee because I’m super clumsy but the owner was so nice and quickly gave me paper towels and let me clean it up as I requested. Then our waitress told me not to worry, which is nice because some servers would be snippy being that she was busy, but she was awesome. Our breakfast came out fast and hot. And freaking delicious!!! They have great sausage gravy, the cottage fries were awesome too! The prices are great, the staff is friendly, and the portions are huge. I would definitely recommend this place is you want a nice big American style breakfast. Just be sure to bring cash.

Best breakfast location bar none. This place is 100% old school great food. They serve the BEST sausage gravy I have ever had along with the best tea you can get. I love the cash only, fast service, and friendly atmosphere. It’s not a fancy place. Be prepared to share a table with someone who starts as a stranger and leaves as a friend. A can’t miss if you are in Punta Gorda!

The restaurant is small. You sit at picnic tables and if they are busy you may have table guests. I ordered a fresh sausage sandwich and I got 2 sides with it —onion rings and baked beans. Beans were excellent. Had some peppers and bacon added to them. Sausage sandwich was fresh made. Loved it. My only complaint was that I got a warm can of Coke with a glass of ice. Only open from 6am to 1 pm. Cash only!

Very nice clean, orderly interior, and polite staff… I had cheese omelet, cottage fries, and a biscuit. My husband had excellently prepared 2-eggs, corned beef hash, grits, and a biscuit. All our food was very, very good. We will return soon. Cash Only when you go.

On the advise of waitress do not order pancakes(they are frozen). Food was great. Omelet was big. Sausage was not overpowering with spice. Eggs were very well prepared. We recommended the cottage fries. Biscuit was good(we are from Mi) they rarely offer that choice. Restaurant was rustic like up north in Mi but clean and did not smell like grease!

Best gravy in Southwest Florida. Servers and communal dining are a plus. If you are within 30 miles it is worth the drive. Call ahead to ensure open. Closed on Mondays. Sweat Tea is very good.

Visited this place on Halloween night. They had a great band; better than the one featured in the park downtown. Good drinks and food. We will definitely return.

If a quiet relaxed atmosphere is what you are looking for this is not the spot for you. From the second i walked in the door it was a yelling match to see who could talk over each other. The waitress came over not long after the migraine started and i ordered my food. The biscuits tasted like they were poorly mixed, i got a few solid bites of flour. The gravy was bland and overly salty and the sausage patty was full of fat and gristle… yep a chopped up left over scrap patty… horrible…the only remotely edible part of the meal were the eggs and they werent that fantastic… so yeah 10 dollars and a migrane later i would never return to or recommend this slop shack… save your money and just go to dennys or somethin.

Can’t say enough! My husband and son L-O-V-E the Smokehouse for the biskets and gravy. Brings a happy face to my 10yr olds face.

Just happened to find this place after living here almost 2 years! Cash only place and def a hole in the wall. Picnic tables that are family style so you sit where there is an open place. Easily could be sitting with 3 different couples! Food is good old fashioned breakfast and sausage gravy is their speciality. It was good… I can make better BUT I don’t want too which is why we go!!! Excellent staff. Funny and some rough around the edges make you feel right at home. This place is on my radar for all visitors to our home!

I last ate here over 25 years ago and from the current reviews I’ve read little has changed. First time I ever had biscuits and gravy was at Smokey’s, not being from the south, I was knocked out, let me tell you. Still to this day nowhere else compares. I never did try the lunch menu, but it sure looked great. If I ever get back to the Charlotte Bay area, I’ll be sure to revisit Smokey’s and/or reccomend ‘em to anyone I know! :)

Great home-cooked breakfasts. Real, fresh sausage from the butcher. A local favorite is homemade biscuits or potatoes and gravy. A lot food for the $. Sometimes the best food comes from the«little hole in the wall» places. And this is definitely one of those places! We are regulars here. I must also let you know that this establishment does not accept credit. Area or checks. STRICTLYCASHONLY.
