Village of Put-In-Bay

Nice little island, very relaxing and loved everything about it We spent our whole day there and had to go back. Next time we’d love to stay there over night at some bed and breakfast kinda place:)
Cute down town area is fun, great park in the middle for kids.

Nope. Don’t like it. It’s fun when you are a young college kid but if you are older or a younger teenager for that matter then don’t waste you time. There is nothing there other than dirty bars, trash everywhere and more. It kinda ruins the sight of Perry’s Victory. The food in the restaurants was expensive. Much rather go to Kelly’s Island.

If you want to drink, then you can drink. But if you don’t, then go:
1.parasailing
2.miniature golfing
3.golf carting around the island
4.sailing
5.exploring history
6.kicking back
7.visiting the Butterfly House, etc.
Grab your camera and click away. Bring a picnic and stretch out on the grass at the park. You will feel like you took a mini-​vacation without the cost.
No alcohol required.

Ive always loved it here. Plan your trip in advance and make it a full day, just dont spend a week and expect it to be jam packed with hustle and bustle activity

Interesting, it is more teeshirt shops than antique shops, which is more of what I expected. The village is cute, make sure you hit the historical Society and the Perry Monument.
Watch out for golf carts, they are everywhere, and no one knows how to drive them!

I’m giving this island 4 stars because I did have a great time but…
I felt like I was one of the oldest girls on the island (with the exception of a few groups of cougars with belly rings showing)
There were several questionable things going on at the main pool at all times. I can’t really comment because even looking at my pictures I still can’t figure out what the hell was going on there!
No activities other than bar hopping and every bar charges a cover in the evening.
That being said I needed a weekend away with enough drinks too forget some problems at the time. This island got the job done! If that’s what you’re looking for it’s perfect and only a 4.5 hour drive and quick ferry from Chicago. But you’ve been warned.
Oh… And I saw people with kids there. Not sure what they were thinking but I guarantee those kids saw plenty of T&A.

I’ve been to several island resort areas in the US such as Mackinaw Island and Nantucket. Put-​In-​Bay is a smaller town and has less to do. The village is nice, but it’s limited to bars, restaurants, a candy story and some cheesy souvenir stores. I can see why the island has a reputation for a lot of drinking because that’s all there is to do here. I enjoyed sitting by the water drinking but it would get old quickly.

If you’ve read any of my previous business reviews of Put-​in-​Bay, you can add them all together and call this a pretty mediocre place.
If you’re into cougars, Jimmy Buffett loving old men, and bachelor/​ette parties, frat boys, sorority girls — this is totally your place. The island is full of these types of people.
There is very little in the way of low-​key and real down-​to-​earth adult type of entertainment besides a few wineries and a giant boring monument.
Cover bands play in every bar nightly.
You’re overcharged for everything. And it’s all pretty sub-​par.
Is this your idea of fun?

Put-​n-​Bay, an alcoholics waste a way. They have in the center of the island, a historical tower from the early 1800’s. Otherwise a waste of money and 6 hours of my life I will never get back. The island is loaded with bars, college kids, and adults who still think they are college kids, getting drunk. Kinda sad. At least they are kicked off the mainland to do this…

Put-​In-​Bay is a little resort island that is about 3 miles off the coast of Ohio Mainland on Lake Erie. There are two types of people that go to this island: Sportsmen who enjoy boating and people to like to bar hop. The big crowds start to arrive on Thursday and they leave on Sunday morning. The island has a large amount of bars and restaurants and hotels for the tourists. If you are into boating/​fishing this would also be the place for you. Most of the tourists are from the midwest. You must be careful of where you eat on the island because there are some good restaurnats here. There are also some really horrible ones too. I have to warn you: Do not get pizza anywhere on the island because it is really bad everywhere. This small resort Island has something for everyone.
