I just recently bought a Xbox elite console on the 6th of February. Currently I am experiencing some troubles with my console. It turns on but nothing plays. The screen is just blanked. I googled everything before I even called GameStop as to what was going on with my Xbox because people at GameStop like to act like know it all even though theyre 30 year old virgins. So I googled everything before I called just to see if they had any ideas and when I called some guy by the name of Dillion or Daniel, some name with a D answered the phone and I said hey I just recently bought a Xbox elite console from you and I’m experiencing some problems, he said ok well when did you get it? I said the 6th he said ok what month? I said well this month, he said hey dude it’s a valid question, so what’s going on, I told him and explained that I’ve unplugged it, reset it, changed HDMI cords and nothing so what’s your idea? He obviously wasn’t paying attention to what I was previously saying because he said well hard reset it… Well sir I just said I did… I said well I did that, any other ideas? And he said well idk what you want me to do, the better question is what do you want me to help you with? & he got rude and snarky on the phone. I said well idk I have a warranty with you guys and Xbox who do I contact first? Do I return it and you replace it? He said yeah, I said well do you know if anybody has it and if they do, can you see if some other store has it so I can get it? He said umm no I can’t I’m busy call me tomorrow… This is now the 2nd time I’ve called a GameStop and they’ve been rude and rushed me off the phone. Th ONLY GameStop I’ll give my money to now is the GameStop off 72nd and Portland. The manager girl is dope. These guys here suck. How do you not know when the last time a console that you RARELY get was sold. I even work at sprint, and if I sold a 500 $ speaker, I’d remember that for a good month after that transaction, because it was such a big transaction. But like i said, wanna be pro gamers work here. Never buy here, even if the item and the store you’re at is out. Just wait the few days for the order to come in

Ordered an Xbox 360 game for nephew’s birthday from Amazon. UPS managed to get my address wrong twice, so I had to go out last minute to buy the game he wanted from GameStop. They only had the game USED, for $ 5MORE, WITHOUT the case(in a paper sleeve), than I had paid for it NEWINPACKAGING from Amazon(including shipping)! One would think a retail chain looking down the same barrel that killed movie rental brick & mortar stores would have learned to stay competitive. Guess they’re trying to wring the last drops from the stones while there’s still time left… I won’t miss them when they’re gone. Oh, and aside from that the service was poor and I stood around near the register tapping my foot being ignored for a good 10 – 15 minutes before anyone bothered offering to help. But I’m passive like that and would have overlooked the neglect if not for the former issue. 2 stars for not taking my money and then handing the thing to the wrong person like UPS, I guess? …naw. Nevermind.

There are two Gamestop stores in the South Hill Mall. Both are bad, but one is worse than the other. The store that is closest to Macy’s is worse in terms of customer service, and that is saying something. I am never greeted by the employees when I enter the store. Once an employee failed to notice me because he was too busy having a personal discussion with a friend. The last time I was there, the fire alarm went off in the mall and one of the employees thought it would be funny to mimic the alarm with his voice. Why would customers want to hear that? It’s not just at this Gamestop that the employees behave this way. The employees at most Gamestop stores are like this too. It always seems like their supervisors are absent, leaving the employees free to sleep on the job. I hope the next iteration of consoles from Sony and Microsoft offer digital-only releases. That will do to this awful chain of stores what Redbox did to Blockbuster and Hollywood Video.

A pretty darn good place to get your video game rental fix. They have everything from PSP to XBOX360 and every other older game console they have games for as well. Buy sell, trade, or rent. You can even rent the console!
