So this is a long read, but worth it. Hang with me till the end you’ll appreciate it. Kristy and I had planned a big birthday bash to celebrate our birthdays together. Although Marcus’s mother Peggy Rawley was in the hospital, we had hoped she would be able to join us. Unfortunately she had to remain in the hospital but made Kristy promised to have the party go on no matter what. She said I really am going to miss being there but at least I can see all of the pictures of the great fun you guys are going to have. About 2 hours before party time they got a phone call that urgently brought them to the hospital not knowing what was going to happen. Before they left although we all were saying that we should cancel the party and it was no problem, Kristy insisted on it going forward because of her promise to mama Peg. Knowing the mama Peg obviously was not going to make it to the party and not knowing what was going to happen, I found a local sign shop that I pulled into. As I drove up coincidentally enough the owner was driving up to. Although it was Saturday and they are normally closed, he was arriving to do some office work. When I explained to him the background and everything that was going on and that I wanted some type of sign to make for her, he said why don’t I just make one for you. This man who didn’t know me from Adam but had great compassion for us and our situation took time out of his day off to make this banner for us. How easily could have said I’m sorry I am closed, or I’m sorry something like this will take at least a day, but instead he stopped everything and had this ready in about an hour for us. We not only were able to put it on the wall during the party so it showed up in most of the pictures, but Kristy also was able to take it to the hospital and put it on her wall directly in front of her for her to see how much she is loved and was missed at the party. We so often see the bad and the worst of people laid out on Facebook, I thought it would be nice instead to see how great most people can also be even to strangers. I just saw a post today from my cousin Rachel Jackson that said something to the effect of live life to the fullest do something for someone that can never be repaid. Well Craig, & I am sorry but when I find the name of the company I will post that also, you did something for us that we can never repay. Thank you stranger.
