Don’t be deceived by the size of the building outside. The weights and cardio equipment are crammed into a teeny-tiny space upstairs. You can hardly walk around without running into people or equipment. No matter what time of day you go you will have to fight for a turn, even wait in a line to use things. I am only here temporarily for training. But if I were stationed here, I would pay for a gym membership out in town because at least I would be able to get an actual workout. Two stars for visual appeal because it is clean and doesn’t look too old.

Walking into this gym reminded me of the crowds I left behind when I cancelled my LA Fitness membership. It was lunchtime so I knew it would be busy, but I wasn’t expecting every since piece of equipment to be busy during the last week of the year. That’s when I remembered I’m at a gym on a marine base. I’m not a fan of having cardio machines in the same room as the weights. That’s just too much hustle and bustle. Unfortunately it looks like that’s the best option for this gym. You are bound to have inconsiderate people who have the need to jump ripe in a small area where there are people working out on all sides. You’ve got to be careful loading the bars, otherwise you will fall victim to a jump rope attack. Expect to see a lot of muscle heads in this gym, which isn’t a bad thing. I was also surprised to see so many couples working out together. Keep it up ladies! Forgot your towel? Don’t worry because this gym will hook you up! And don’t forget to bring a lock to store your personal items in the locker room.
