George Lane Park

Nice park, has a nice field for sports… There seems to be a good amount of activities there for kids like soccer.

I was at the pool on Labor Day 2014, the last day of the year for thepool. I had lived in the AV for over a year and didnt know this place was here. Two summersI missed out on. The pool was SO refreshing. I am glad I know about it now.
I burn easliy and wore a synthetic shirt and since the policy is no street clothes past the front desk, I must have been asked about the shirt by at least three different life guards. Long story short, dont wear a cotton shirt inside or they will make you take it off.
Also, GoPro’s and other camers are not allowed. Who am I to complain, free is free…
My one real gripe is the cops. They drive on the sidewalks and park wherever the hell they want. This is a park with toddlers running around and I honestly didnt feel safe with the cops driving all over the park like they owned the place. I feel that a kid will one day get hit or worse.
Still, the park itself gets 5*‘s!!!

This is a hidden gem in the AV and it’s free. Yes I said free. For the cost and all the trained lifeguards I will give this place a 5 star. This will definitely be a go to place this summer.

The park is a great place for you to bring your dog. The grass is always maintained well, and there is always plenty of room to play. There are a few people who can’t pick up after their pooch, and that can be frustrating, but that’s not the park’s fault, just inconsiderate dog owners.
