Gorgeous location and great place to sit outside. The food is just average really not bad but nothing to rave about. The choices in this area are few and far between so I’m glad they are in the area. Service usually leave a little to be desired so don’t come if your time is limited.

Love this Mexican restaurant! One of the best that is in the east valley. The people there are SO friendly. Always attentive. Their lunch specials are priced very well. They also serve really quick. When my husband and I get a chance, we always try to eat there. The atmosphere is so nice and unexpected too. In the middle of no where down power road between chandler heights and Riggs, it’s a hidden gem.

Recently moved to the area and like to support local businesses versus chain restaurants so hubby and I anxious to try this local Mexican restaurant. Hubby and I went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was busy as it is smaller inside then appears outside but we were able to get a seat quickly. I liked the vibe and décor inside though the lights were very bright. The outside patio did not seem as inviting as it could have been for a cute lil courtyard setting but it was a nice option. Our server was friendly though the hostess seemed uninterested and not very warm or friendly despite us telling her that it was our first time at the restaurant. The menu was reasonably priced and service was prompt. The homemade chips were very good. I ordered enchiladas suiza and they were plated nicely but had bland flavor. My husband had a shrimp burrito that was tough and he did not finish. I really wanted to like this place and have it be our local go-to Mexican restaurant but I think we will keep searching for another spot before/if returning.

The only disappointment was that I haven’t been here before. My wife and I are from Tucson and feel we were spoiled with many options of good, authentic, Mexican food there. We’ve been here for two years and found a couple decent places, but none that compared or worthy of calling«our place». We’ve now found it! We stopped in for brunch on a Saturday and were the first here. We were greeted courteously and seated while waiting a few minutes while they finished making the fresh chips. We judge every restaurant with their chile relleno, and this one was up to par! My wife smiled with every bite, and my chilaquiles were probably the best I’ve had. They had the right amount of red chile but still had a nice crunch due to the fresh tortilla chips. Can’t wait to come back for dinner soon.

Both dinners were absolutely incredibly delicious! The portions were so large that we left most of the sides in our plate! The ingredients used were fresh and so tasty. Make sure to go hungry!

First time here, told to come here from our friends, it’s ok but not the best. Looking around the place its ok looking, floor was a little dirty, chairs are cushioned, waiter was nice enough not really friendly . We sat down severed right away chips and salsa, green and red, both no taste, asked for hot one. That was much better, added it to our first ones. The red salsa was to much tomato taste no salt, the green really sweet tasting . When ordering asked the difference between green and green, sauce if one was hotter than the other, he said no just red green coloring . Food was brought looked good, tasted again like no seasoning. Not the Mexican food we are looking for, my Husband ordered Chili Relleno, said ok, better with sour cream, I ordered cheese enchiladas, no taste but added their verson of hot salsa we asked for in the beginning, so that took it up a notch . Other people sitting around us complain about the beans and chips, saying something not good, no more big bowl just a few bean scoops on a plate, also asking for a new basket of chips cause really salty. waiter explain about bowls breaking . Lastly chips tasted like out of the bag, maybe not but these are salty . No wifi Prices are good Bathrooms really clean Would be come back not sure, we will wait to see if things change from our friends.

I was truly happy with everything this restaurant had to offer. My friend and I were seated immediately, chips and salsas brought to the table just after we sat down. Our other friend joined us soon after, drinks were brought out immediately. The service was fantastic, our waiter was Fabian. And the food… it was spectacular. I had the chimichanga with chicken… it was huge! My only regret is that I didn’t have room for dessert, they have some I really would like to try. Definately going to be on our list of every other Thursday dinner nights out!

Have been meaning to try this place for awhile and finally went tonight. Best Tortilla Soup I’ve had outside of Mexico, it was truly AMAZING. I will go back just for that. Ordered the Seafood Enchiladas, the shrimp was overcooked and tough, reminded me of a leftover reheated, so that won’t be on my menu again. Rice was average and the ‘vegetables’ were onions and green and red peppers, which I don’t usually eat. Next time I will try the Chimichanga or a Torta, the folks at the next table had the Torta and it looked very good and they were happy with it. For dessert I had the Sopapillas, which were delicious but had a LOT of sugar on them, so if you’re diabetic, don’t even think about it. Service was attentive, it was a slow night. One noisy child ruined the first 45 minutes for me but what can you do with ignorant parents who think their pain in the ass child is wonderful? I hate children in restaurants late at night — they should be HOME. I know the parents want to go out — but please, it’s called A BABYSITTER — GETONE! And if you can’t afford one, then STAYHOME or get TAKEOUT.

We were happy to find a Mexican cantina so close to home. We enjoy good Mexican food. As we found the right door and entered, we were impressed with atmosphere. Big mistake, don’t judge the book by the cover. It was a Friday about 5pm, so it was not at all busy. We were seated at a table and waited for service, and I do mean waited, about 15 minutes before they came with chips and salsa. Again may I say there were very few people dining at this early evening. When we did order the service again very slow. When the food came it was very dry and over cooked. We needed water to wash the food down. We did not feel the food was acceptable. The food was very expensive, I don’t mind paying for good food, but this was NOT good. Our friend order the dry chicken and that night she went to ER with food poisoning, go figure. We won’t be back.

My wife and I decided to try this place after seeing it reopened after being previously the location for«El Rico’s» which we loved! From our entrance in the settings look very welcoming. We were sat down quickly and brought chips and salsa to start. The chips were great and freshly made and still warm. They serve two salsas, a red and a green. The green is sweet and has great flavor. The red salsa on the other hand I was not a favorite of. It had a weird after taste and was unlike any salsa I’ve tried before. We both ordered our meals I ordered a carne asada burrito and my wife ordered shredded beef tacos. My burrito was a good size and the rice and beans on the side were tasty. The carne asada on the other hand was very dry and didn’t have great flavor. Overall I was not a fan of my burrito. I tried the taco and it also suffered from severe dryness. The meat was so dry I had to drink water to get it down. On a plus side the staff was friendly, but I just can’t give it more the two stars based on the food and the price we paid for it. I don’t feel the quality is there at all.

Went there for the first time after hearing great things about it and we weren’t disappointed. To start, we couldn’t find the door and the, I believe manager, let us in. The environment was amazing, calm, friendly, inviting, and it wasn’t obnoxiously loud. Onto the service. The server was awesome and very fast getting our drinks to us. I got a margarita and my fiancé got a beer, not complicated but I’ve had to wait 5, 10 minutes to get the same order from other places where they had a bartender and he made me a good margarita! Another thing I saw was everyone worked together! Everyone helped each other out. The busser was so on the ball. Very attentive which I’m not going to lie, I usually don’t see that in bussers. Onto the food. It burned my mouth when it but the table and that is the only is sign I need to like the cooks. I got the mole enchiladas and my fiancé got the green chile chimichanga. Both were fantastic! I’ve never had mole and I couldn’t get over how good it was. It went so well with the chicken. And not overly sweet. Speaking of sweet, I loved their sweet green salsa! My fiancé not so much but I’d get that salsa again and again. The chips were so crispy and warm! We went on a Thursday night at around 6PM and had the best service and food and have found a new Mexican restaurant we will be going to from now on.

The best seafood enchiladas I’ve ever had! This is a cut little hidden gem and the décor and ambience are lovely. What isn’t lovely is the service. Wait for water. wait for drink refills, wait for food. It’s a waiting game here. I could understand if they were super busy but it was a Thursday night and not at all crowded. While I usually don’t mind a leisurely dinner the waiting was verging toward annoying. I was never offered a refill on water. had to ask… no silverware.. it just went on.. but the food was superb. Go and enjoy the food but be prepared to spend a while. The only thing we didn’t wait for was the bill… of course!

Wow!!! That was disgusting! Waited an hour for our food and I was served what looked and tasted like an encharido from Taco Bell. Wife took two bites of chicken taco, I took two of Chimi and we paid bill and left. Sour cream and guacamole both appear to be instant from powder. Meat was chewy and full of tendons. Life long resident of AZ so I know my Mexican. Even our server knew it was bad. Won’t say her name her cause she was nice. Must be horrible to have to put that food in front of someone.

First time to visit this restaurant. Peculiar location… Beautiful décor, and nicely maintained inside and out. Although, the padding on our chairs look like they’d seen better days. Also, we were a bit cold sitting under the new wall AC unit. Nice bathrooms(unlike some other Mexican restaurants). No hostess available, and after waiting a few minutes, I went to look for someone to seat us. The server said he’d be right with us. We ordered iced tea and it tasted fresh brewed. The queso, chips and salsa(red and green) were all very good. Our dishes were brought out quickly –just before finishing our appetizer. My chicken chimichanga was delicious and the plate presentation was nicely arranged with a radish as garnish. My entrée did have a bone in it, though. Our server mentioned dessert, but we couldn’t endulge as our lunch portion kept us satisfied. We enjoyed the atmosphere(besides the cold air) and the food, and will return.

We were really happy to find this place today. Great chips and salsa, which is the first indication of a good Mexican food place. Second, they served coke products(versus Pepsi)…score! I had the chicken chimichanga, which was really good. Others at our table had: the quesadilla(great with a few roasted green chilies in it!); veggie burrito which had a really good corn side. Service was OK, attentive. Décor is modern, new and clean. The restaurant is well lit, not overly loud and tables had tablecloths, so it’s steps up from other places. I’d recommend fajitas are added to the menu. It’s always a nice option for people with various dietary and food restrictions, since you assemble yourself.

Let’s get straight to the point – I’ve never experienced such bad Mexican food. I’m not a diva, and I’m puzzled why this place gets 4 stars. I’ll give it one star for a nice space – and it might be a good place for a drink – but low quality and bland Mexican food in AZ makes me sad. It doesn’t help that the service was very slow and indifferent, however, I can put up with a lot for some simple, soul-warming Mexican food. Not even close here… Not a single person at my large table liked their food nor finished their plate. Even the two east coasters(with low standards) said this place was surprisingly bad. I got the Chile Verde, and instead of the slow cooked meat one would normally get at a decent Mex food place – I got chunks of hard cubed pork with green sauce thrown together in a sauté pan. Companions complained of bland and dry chicken and beef in their chimis. Sorry, if this is the best there is in the neighborhood, but if so, I’m driving half an hour to Los Dos Molinas in Mesa.

My husband and I love Casa Mina and think it’s truly special! The Enchilada Suizas is on my obsessed list. I get this dish with red sauce instead of the green sauce and I’ve had it 10 – 15 times. Consistent quality and my favorite Mexican craving, hands down! My husband gets the carne asada and it is deliciously seasoned and I always get a few bites! Casa de Mina, keep up the quality ingredients and passion for perfect recipes!!! We love your hidden gem and will be back soon!

Aesthetically this is the most beautiful Mexican food restaurant I’ve ever been to. It is very quaint on the inside. It is definitely a good date restaurant. The server was very friendly. The chips and salsa were pretty good. I got the shredded beef burrito. Most Mexican food restaurants don’t do shredded beef right. Most of the time it is overcooked and dry. Their shredded beef was not as dry but still seemed a bit overcooked. The food presentation was nice. The beans were good. The rice was okay. The portions were pretty normal. The dessert was amazing. They have sopapillas and churros. If someone asked me about going to this restaurant I would recommend giving it a shot.

I returned last night with my family and again we all had a really nice experience. If you are looking for tasty Mexican food check out this place

I’ve waited awhile to post this review because there’s so much that could be said. Ah where to start?!? I think this is a place you’ll love or hate. One extreme or the other. First — the restaurant seemed smallish to me with a kind of odd floor plan. We kept trying to figure out what it was«before». We asked and found out it was always a restaurant. Hmm ok. We sat in what seemed like the main part of the restaurant. It was an awkward area with lots of traffic. Second– our waitress asked how we heard of their restaurant. I said I found it on Unilocal. My biggest mistake! After that she hovered to the point of being annoying. Stopped by the table to chat too many times and kept telling us her name so we could mention her in our review. Ironically I’ve forgotten her name. Probably my mind trying to protect me from nightmare of being stalked. My husband now cringes and gives me «the look» if someone asks and I say I’m a Unilocaler. What can I say, be fearless– tell them and see what happens! Third– We were told there would be a longer wait because of a party of 50 that was supposed to order from a specific menu and didn’t. We were starving so we over indulged in chips in anticipation of the wait. Then our food came out pretty quickly. Ack! Now I’m full and our food is being served. Fourth– the food: I had the chicken chimichanga. Originally without the green sauce as paying $ 1 for sauce in a Mexican place seems weird. It needed the sauce! Suck up the $ 1 and order it. With the sauce it was very good and I had lots of leftovers. My husband ordered carne asada which he loved it. I hated. It was VERY citrusy. Too much for my taste but he came home and tried to replicate it. Goody. The salsas– when you read the reviews about the salsas, they aren’t kidding. One is sweet to the point of disgusting and another was so hot it keeps your tongue and lips sizzling. If you do a mix it’s ok but honesty — just get some normal salsa. Um– yeah, and my husband liked the super sweet salsa.(Insert boggled face here) I can only say-maybe it was too hot that day and delirium hit? Any who — 3 stars as an average because my hubby loved it and I didn’t
