Serranos Mexican Restaraunts

We have been here twice and we love the food! Their bean dip is A+ and the margaritas are equally good. The fajitas are also great and HUGE.

After visiting this location on a few occasions, I can finally write my review. It’s a typical Mexican restaurant where you’ll get typical Mexican food. On my last visit, I ordered a combo plate with a beef tamale and chicken enchilada… both were just okay. I think I have decided that I’m really not a fan of red sauce. Unless somebody gives me a suggestion on where to go for some bomb red sauce, I think I’ll stick with the green from now on. Anyway, Serrano’s is a decent choice if you’re in the mood for Mexican but don’t feel like driving too far into town.

Been going to Serranos in other parts of town for many years. Never thought the quality of food was fantastic nor the prices. Great place to grab a drink and an appetizer. Still might be a little bit more pricey even than you might like.

We were going to eat sushi Monday night but did not realize the sushi place did not open on Mondays. We saw this place was pack and thought they must have good food. We were wrong. My plate looked like a huge mess and just threw the food on the plate. Everything was spicy even the rice and could not give any to my baby. Everything was over seasoned. The only thing that was good were the chips and sides for the chips, my beer and the service was great!

As I’m sitting here waiting on my dinner I have already decided this isn’t a place I would return to. The service is so confusing and our server is very annoying I feel like I am being yelled at and cut off everytime I talk. I asked for a water and I get brought a pitcher … Um I’m one person one cup is fine! The salsa and bean dip is far from Mexican taste like it came from a jar. This place is very over priced for the quality and presentation of the food. Oh and the server is yelling at all the other employees like they are the worst things ever, if I were them I would walk out. Poor kids

The only good thing they have going for them is the bean dip. Otherwise. Everything is severely overpriced and nothing special. Plenty of better choices to go elsewhere.

I’ve been here a handful of times because it’s near my house. Prices are WAY too expensive for average food, outdated décor, and dreary atmosphere. The chips, salsa and beans suck. Sauce choices are very limited. Don’t think I’ll be going back.

The chimichangas are amazing. And the service is super fast. Atmosphere is good for families too. That being said, we have had some not so great experiences with some of their other dishes. Steer clear of the taco salad and beans. Overall a decent place for Mexican food but not a destination spot.

If I could, I’d give this place a negative star. We walked out after talking to the manager twice about our service and still not getting any food! Horrible, horrible service, weak management, service staff don’t care.

HORRIBLE experience!
We arrived and were seated in the bar area, even though we only wanted dinner. After 10 minutes we flagged down a server who was walking by and asked who our server was, as we had not been waited on. She said our server was the bartender, but she would take our order for us on his behalf, which we appreciated. Another 15 minutes passed and no food yet and our tea glasses had been empty. We then contacted a manager who said she resolved the situation and she apologized and refilled our tea. The manager said our food was ready and there was a mixup on table assignments. Another 15 minutes later customers who were seated after we arrived received their dinner order. That was the last straw and contacted the manager again to let her know we never received our food and that we were leaving and wouldn’t be back. First and last visit!

Do not go here! We sat for 15 minutes and nobody came to even get our drink order. All of the waitress and waitors weren’t even busy. They were just standing around in the back. Went to talk to a manager and all she stated was «I’m sorry and I will talk to the staff»

The atmosphere, service, quality and portion size of the appetizers and entrée were beyond our expectations. Great experience and would defiantly refer this specific venue to all our clients, friends and family. We also loved the presentation given to our group by the CEO himself! Thanks again, we will be back

Bad Mexican food in Arizona?! Is this even possible?
We ordered a taco salad, it was hamburger meat with no seasoning in a soggy shell.
I ordered a burrito and didn’t finish it. The tortilla was terrible and something inside was burnt and acidic tasting.
This is the food you get when you are in a mexican restaurant in the northeast USA. Tortillas are powdery and taste like flour. Ground beef replaces carne asada and machaca. Nothing has any flavor.
It’s the mexican food you’d get at applebees. Skip it, go anywhere else. You know a hole-​in-​the-​wall place called Bob’s or Burrito Hut is gonna have better mexican food. Don’t deny it.

Today we decided to come back and had the June special, street tacos. The service was great and the tacos were very good. A little kick to the tacos made them pretty delicious! Drinks to go are always a plus.

The food was great! But I came for the first time ever on June 5^th for my bday with my fiancé and kids. He had us wait outside and told them it was my birthday when I wasn’t able to hear him tell them. Happy Birthday was sung to other tables and it was never sung to me. Now I didn’t expect it. But my fiancé was super disappointed. He wanted me to feel special.

My husband and I like to walk to Serranos for our «date» night. But tonight I’m sad. I ordered the chicken tostada. Simple, right!!! I received a bean tostada, hmmm? I laughingly remarked that I’m missing the chicken. I should’ve know something was off when the server didn’t take my plate to change it out. She brought back a bowl of chicken, what!!! I ordered a chicken tostada, not a tostada with chicken on the side. The best service we received was from the busboy! Date night at Serranos was a BUST!

Food service was terrible both times we visited. Once on a Saturday night, second, on next the Saturday. It wasn’t overly crowded, however we were serviced well after other patrons who came in after us. We sat for 20 minutes before our order was taken, and another 45 minutes before food was brought to the table. The food quality was ok, but seasoned poorly. We did NOT get what we paid for (portions were pitiful). The table was dirty, as well as the floor, with each visit. Again, it was NOT crowded or under staffed. I will not be returning here, nor recommending a visit to anyone I know.
Update: Thanks for bringing the typo to my attention Kylie; I said Sunday and they are never open on Sunday. I meant the second Saturday of following month.

Great service and quick take out! I love the location in down town Queen Creek. The food is always quick and yummy! It’s great for large parties, groups, or children. Awesome Mexican food for the whole family!

This was one of the worst experiences I ever had… the food was subpar and salty. The margaritas was served with little or no options… it was watery or extra mix.
The service was abominable, and the prices were crazy for the quality of service and the food… this should be the last place for you and your family to enjoy or even entertain a culinary experience.
The water server Preston was incredible he went out of his way to find bottled water that didn’t exist.
