Little Jerk Center

This is without a doubt the best jerk chicken I have ever eaten in my life. Be sure and get it with jerk sauce plus the sweet red sauce — it is out of this world. It is so good, I can’t make myself order any of the other selections. Eventually I will check out the pork — and I’m sure it will be every bit as good. The cake is also out of control. Plus the fact, the restaurant is owned by sisters. That helps. Check it out

I’ve been eyeing you Little Jerk Center…
This little spot is right next to the salon where I get my eyebrows done. I was hungry but in a hurry so I figured this was the best time to try it out.
I walked in looking for a menu and I discovered that there is no menu. Nothing on the wall, no signs, no paper menu. Just food buffet style behind the window and a chalk board outside listing items. This discouraged me but like I said, I was in a rush and hungry so I rode with it.
I found out how they operate through the conversation between the server and I. I asked for fried chicken because it was on the chalk board outside. She said there is no fried chicken so I just looked at what was available. I was unsure of all of the food items available and I just didn’t feel like going through the «what is this?» question game. I thought I saw stew chicken so I just went for it hoping I was right. She gave me a head nod so I was right! She asked me if I wanted white rice or rice and peas and then she went back to the hard questions… What size? So I said small, medium, or large? She said yea $ 5, $ 8, or $ 10. Thank you for a breakdown! I got the $ 8 plate, waited just a few minutes and soon she called me over to pay and get my food.
The $ 8 plate was a very good size. Enough for me to share some with my mother. The stew chicken and rice came with cabbage and plantain. My mother and I really enjoyed the food… everything except for the plantain. They only get three stars from me for offering fried chicken, but not having it available, and not having a menu. Who doesn’t have a menu?! Anywho, the food was very good and personally I would go back.
