I live in Boston, a city with some top notch sushi — so my expectations are naturally high. You can’t really expect good anything when dining at an airport though, so I didn’t. The udon noodle bowl I had was good and plentiful, the tempura shrimp topping was a nice gesture but not perfected in texture; to say the least. I got the spicy tuna roll(twice) because I hadn’t eaten all day, I like the siracha mayo infusion, but the roll itself was sloppily put together. The service was good, the waitress was very polite and attentive. It’s kind of annoying you can only pay with credit and can only order via the iPad when there’s a human present, just itching for interaction. Would I eat there again, no. Do I hope to never again be stuck in the depths of airport hell at LGA, yes.

Overpriced, somewhat dirty yet decent tasting food. That would be a one sentence summary. Perspective: Frankly, I despise flying through this airport. Even worse, this terminal. Pretty much all the food is horrible and I hate to say it, Minnow is probably the better option of all and I don’t regret going here. The iPads to order food on don’t solve the problem of this horrific airport and if they are the reason that all the food is so overpriced compared to other airports, I’d rather them get rid of it. The Feel: It’s a nicely designed, yet cheap looking sushi bar. It has the feel of sitting in a hallway and for the price you are paying, the experience is pathetic. The Soup and the Veggie Roll: I’ll admit, I was scared. I was scared to order raw fish at an airport joint where the whole bar was filthy dirty and it took them 10 minutes to realize that perhaps cleaning up the mess where new guests are already sitting is perhaps a good idea. I got the clam chowder and it was good. Expensive for what it is, but good. Veggie roll was also fine. After eating the insanely overpriced but tasty enough soup and veggie roll, I am glad I made the choices I did. But hey, if you want to play Russian roulette and get raw fish, by all means go for it!

Terrible food and terrible customer service. Will never eat here again even if it was free.

This place is THEWORST place I’ve ever eaten in my life. First I ask for the mussel appetizer. They tell me they don’t have any. Fine. So then I order rock shrimp appetizer. I hear her say«we don’t have anymore rock shrimp?» To the cook and he mumbles. She then proceeds to bring out this entrée of regular shrimp. I know it’s regular shrimp because I eat rock shrimp a lot. I tell her that it’s not and she lies to me and says it is with an attitude. Then I give her my credit card for a refund and she takes her time getting me my refund as to get me back for not liking the regular shrimp. I waited over 10 mins for her to give my refund and it wasn’t even busy. If this sorry excuse for a restaurant has a corporate, I’ll be emailing them. I zero stars if I can. So let’s neglect the fact that my «to go» order was delivered for dine in, that the hollandaise sauce on the eggs florintine was extremely bland, or that it takes a waiter forever to come and serve you, even at the bar, it’s the fact that they left a QUARTER of an egg shell on my poached egg(poached!!! for crying out loud, how is that even possible?) that blows my mind of how bad dining at LGA can be. Just. Awful.

Ok, I am not a fan of the faceless, technology-riddled, non-human-interacting dinning experience to begin with, couple that with my distaste for airports(especially after a delayed flight and a changed flight) and we are off to a lack luster start. I expected wherever I chose to eat, it was going to be pricey(I mean I am a realist; I’m in an airport in New York), but it takes a lot for me to write a review, let alone a bad one. The ordering system that permeates LaGuardia eateries is fairly user friendly, but impersonal. You sit in front of a wall designed to hide both the staff and chefs from attending to your dining needs. I chose the Sushi sampler and was drinking a Bacardi and diet. I got these two items on separate checks as to expense the former. I got my drink with little to no hassle, but after 30 minutes of waiting for my food while the chefs were visibly just hanging out b.s.-ing, I asked for my order and then was told I didn’t order anything and was forced to show my receipt that I, fortunately, had emailed. Which of course was paid up front and was required to decide on my tip before getting any service. I got the sushi 4 pieces of lukewarm fish and a vegetable roll. Overall the food was below average(even for airport food), the service terrible and inattentive, the ordering system impersonal and inconvenient if you need to ask for anything. If this is where the service industry is heading, it is a dim future

Compared to the previous reviews, it is really not bad. It is definitely overpriced but still relatively fresh for airport sushi.

Overrated — that’s probably the nicest thing I can say about it. I want to emphasize they did nothing wrong — they’re just an airport eatery trying to make money off hungry travels. But for my money, I needed more in quality. While the seafood was seemingly fresh, they were also on the salty side — and I am the kind of you who eats a lot of salt. As for the atmosphere, I don’t like it personally. Perhaps for other travelers, the hands-off 2050 approach might work, but I need a bit more interesting. Here’s what happens: you sit down and order from the iPad — then pay for it, then so someone brings your food to you. It’s just — cold. I get better and more interactive arrive than that on America Airlines. Again, while the good was decent, they weren’t $ 55 for two snacks and a soup decent. And ended up eating by myself next to a balding businessman who uses his fingers for sushi while talking really loudly on the phone. I would do most things twice — but not this place. Again, not their fault. I just don’t like the feel of the place.

Aweful-don’t go here. The pictures on the iPads are incredibly deceiving! I ordered the bento box of the day and it came with sea urchin, which I didn’t realize because the picture had delicious looking tuna, and I didn’t know what uni was, well now I do. I politely asked the waitress if we could get something else instead and she said no. They were unaccomodating to my colleague’s avocado food allergy which also was not mentioned on the menu. Very overpriced, small portions, and not good customer service. Go to Crust if you have the choice. Very disappointing lunch at minnow.

Very very overpriced, but then again you are in an airport in NYC. Overall the sushi was ok, the iPad in front of you works soso. Placing your order on it… Well let’s just say it’s a PITA

This is the first review that I have ever written. I just ordered breakfast at this restaurant. You place the order by iPad which is kind of cool except that you have to tip upfront. The service was not good. Once the waitress finally brought my coffee she plopped it down and walked off. Then when she brought my cardboard tasting $ 14 pancakes she came up behind me(there is only a bar to sit) and said«here» and plopped down the pancakes. No words(such as can I get you anything else) were spoken the entire time. The food was not good, overpriced and the service was non-existent. Keep walking and try another place.

Sushi in an airport. I’ve sunk to new lows, but I was drawn in anyway. It ended up being pretty much exactly what I expected. The fish was fresh and delicious, especially compared to what I get in Kansas City, but it was overpriced and well, not worth it. We weren’t starving, so the husband and I just split a few options: We got the Yellowtail ceviche, the Minnow roll and a 2nd warm roll that had salmon skin, but I can’t remember the name. The Minnow roll was good, but more greens than fish. The salmon skin was good and something I haven’t had before. Chewy, but still flavorful and the ceviche was excellent as well. Overall, the presentation and the fish was delicious, but even at overpriced airport standards these weren’t worth the price. They were also made to order(which makes sense), but keep it in mind you need ATLEAST15 minutes for them to prepare it.

Generally speaking, airport restaurants tend to suck. They’re overpriced because they can be. The food is poorly flavored because we will eat it anyway. That considered, Minnow isn’t all that bad. It is tiny(only twelve barstools at a long counter) and offers an iPad at each seat for ordering and internet use while you stay. The service was great. The food was decent. It didn’t come out as ordered but it was still pretty good so I made no complaint. I sat for a while after eating, enjoying a book and cup of tea(allowing my cell phone to charge).

I ordered breakfast here while waiting for a connection flight. The ordering is done via iPad, which is both novel and impersonal. I selected two eggs over easy with hash, sausage, and toast. The eggs were slightly overcooked, and the«hash» was actually hash brows. The quality of the food was greasy but fine. Even though the ordering was done on an iPad, I did get some personal in the form of a woman asking if I wanted ketchup or hot sauce. I asked for both. The ketchup came in an tiny glass bottle, which would have been nice if it wasn’t sealed with a plastic rim and difficult to open. It felt expensive, even for being in an airport. All in all the experience was unimpressive.

Don’t bother — the first reviewer is right — food lacks flavor and is way overpriced Fresher food and tastier at the other venues This was a big disappointment — servers did a good job, but bid the food isn’t good, not much to work with Spent $ 75 on 3 sushi rolls? Iced tea and a glass of wine — crazy!

The only thing that makes Minnow different from all the other restaurants in Delta’s C and D Terminals is that is has a seafood theme. You are still getting wildly gouged in the pocketbook just because you can tap on a greasy public iPad for 20 minutes.
