Just this incredible place that is hidden behind homes. There are a few entrances like just on Springfield Blvd and near Kingsbury Ave. The trail extends hidden away starting from Winchester Parkway until the Clearview Expressway. From there you can continue on to more areas. It’s safe and clean, however there are no rest area along this stretch. You will see families, bikers, runners, walkers and just people relaxing along the trail. You feel like you are in the middle of some forest until you notice peoples backyards. It’s so cool this trail exists.

This remaining section of the 1908 Vanderbilt Parkway(once a toll road that extended all the way into Suffolk Coutny, closed in 1938) is truly a gem and supports a tremendous amount of outdoors activity– from leisurely walkers to hard-core runners. Densely wooded, quiet and extended to connect with Cunningham Park, this paved road closed to traffic rivals Forest Park Drive in Kew Gardens. I recently heard on NY1 cable that there is a local org that is seeking to open up more of the eastern part of Motor Parkway, I tried but didn’t find anything on it– so anyone who knows more about that effort, please post any updates.

Bike/Running/Hiking path stretching from Winchester Blvd to Cunningham Park. Excellent path for a paved trail with hills to get your heart going… not flat at all. Highly recommend for those who like trees surrounding them when active through all seasons of the year.
