Would have given 0 stars if possible for the following reasons: 1. Horrendous service — waitress was highly impolite and impatient. Demanded we give a 15% tip as this is the«norm» in flushing. What a joke 2. Many of the dishes we ordered were not available 3. Duck is not authentic Will never return to this establishment again and again will recommend others to avoid this painful experience

For a place called the Peking Duck House, I expected their peking duck to be exceptional. Not the best I have had, but it wasn’t bad. We ordered the $ 31 duck and an extra order of wraps. The duck meat is completely boneless and surrounded by all the pieces of skin. There were too many globs of fat on the duck, but the skin was crispy. It was nice that the duck was boneless, but usually at other places they also give us the l legs of the duck, which they didn’t here. The wraps were freshly made and probably the best part. They were a bit skimpy on the cucumbers and scallions. Stir-fried Loofah w/Gluten(絲瓜炒麵筋) — My favorite thing that was ordered. Bo th the sigua and mianjin were very soft. The dish had the perfect saltiness level. Tofu and Cucumber(涼拌豆腐) — I found this long matted piece of hair in our liangban doufu dish. Not sure if it was from someone’s head or some rug. Bokchoy — Fresh and crispy, but it’s hard to mess it up. Lots of delicious pieces of garlic in here. Jicai and Tofu Soup(薺菜豆腐湯) — Really thick and slightly bland. But I like the vegetable they use in here and the tofu, so I was fine drinking this. It’s very filling. Overall, I think this place is a 2.5 stars. Given the other delicious restaurants in Flushing, not sure I would come back here.

Hubby and I came here for dinner on a Sunday night. A table was finishing up as we entered and we were the only ones there the whole time. As mentioned by other reviewers, this place is very quiet and absolutely zero décor except a plant by the window. How quiet? Imagine yourself in a library eating dinner. The waitress was very eager to take our order(there was no other customers). I was actually just pulling up my Unilocal app to see what people liked and seeing all the mediocre reviews made me wonder if we should get up and leave. The quietness still made me feel uncomfortable. But we were already sitting and drinking the complimentary tea. So we decided to get the Peking duck meal as this is what the restaurant is known for. $ 31.95 and we were told this meal is good for two people. I think hubby and I may have seen this place run a commercial on the one of the Chinese channels a few years ago. The waitress said the place was packed around 2pm during the day. The waitress came back with a free appetizer– a small plate of chilled & marinated duck claws and wings. These are the parts that people enjoy with their beer. My hubby enjoyed these but they were okay for me. I compared our meal here to the Peking Duck House in Chinatown(Mott street). I do not believe they are the same owners although the English name is the same. Our Peking duck came out pretty quickly. They do not have a chef coming out to the dining area to cut the duck in front of the customers. Along with our duck, we got a plate of cucumber and scallion strips, hoisin sauce, and wraps. The wraps came out hot but not in a steamer like the one in Chinatown does. The hoisin sauce had some black bean flavoring to it. You get to make your own duck wraps as you please from this point on! I really enjoyed the duck because the skin pieces were very crispy and the meat pieces were juicy. Between hubby and myself, I think we each had 4 or 5 duck wraps and we were happily full. I prefer the wraps here over the one in Chinatown. These aren’t as big so you can enjoy a few more in one sitting. The wrap is also a great consistency and perfect size for 1 – 2 pieces of meat with a larger piece of crispy duck skin. If you want more wraps or cucumber/scallions, they do charge extra– I think $ 5 for wraps and $ 1.50 for the cucumber/scallions. With tax and tip, we paid $ 40 total. We also asked for the duck bones to take home(free!). We made soup with the duck bones and it was awesome! I wish I could give this place more stars but the price seemed a little high. The décor and quietness just doesn’t give me the complete experience of a great restaurant. I had no problems with the service. I think it would be great if the wraps could come out in a covered steamer to keep the wraps warm. Otherwise, the food was great and you can bring a good size group here to hang out.

Two stars only because the duck skin was crispy and satisfied a hungry stomach. Their duck was pretty good if they were a regular Chinese restaurant. But for a place called Peking Duck House, you would expect them to serve a more impressive and juicier version of the dish. The restaurant was pretty empty for dinner on a Saturday night and yet they«ran out» of certain dishes from their menu. Most of the food were covered in oil, salt, or some sort of watery or spicy bean sauce. I couldn’t really taste the food for itself. The lamb was pretty well-seasoned but had a lot of fat. None of the dishes screamed«eat me». Service was also slow. We couldn’t find the lady anywhere as my group tried to order more food and refill our tea. She only appeared when bringing out dishes for other tables and we called her over.

This place was completely empty on a Saturday night. I felt like eating in an empty church with the sound of my chewing echoing across the room. They really need to turn on some music or get a TV. The food wasn’t bad at all.

Came here for peking duck and it was the worst peking duck, i’ve had. The duck had no texture and a strong gamey smell. The duck would break down in my mouth as if i was eating tofu. The place had flies landing on our food and the wait staff doesnt speak any english. Do not go here for peking duck.

I came here today on a Monday during the evening and it was quite empty. There was only one other table and the environment was not as it I imagined it to be. It was boring ! They only have a large noodle(in chinese) sign and they aren’t even specialized in noodles ! The lady waitress seated us right away but it took awhile for her to get a baby seat. I asked her what was good and she hesitated while recommending some dishes. I ended up ordering peking duck, live fish, scallops and fish belly. Everything was average. A little below average ! I didn’t even finish eTung the food. The Peking duck was very oily and it didn’t come with buns. The garlic scallops were watery and the fish belly was disgusting. The only good dish I had was the fish. The other waiter kept staring at my son. The food was pretty cheap but I left the restaurant still hungry :(

I thought the Peking duck here would be really good since according to the name of the restaurants it appears to be a specialty restaurant. However that is not the case, the Peking duck was not what expected, and I’ve had better at other places in Flushing. The duck came out on a plate with a small pile of meat in the center and a lot of skin surrounding it. It’s not a bad thing that this place serves a lot more skin than other places that I’ve been, but I would have appreciated it, if the skins and the meat came out piping hot instead of lukewarm. Wrapping lukewarm soggy duck skin with a layer of fat on it, is not exactly the best texture to go in your mouth. I can’t say much about the duck meat either besides that it was pretty bland and quite dry. Another thing is that there didn’t seem to be enough of the pancake wrappers for all the skins and if your ran out of it and wanted more, add another $ 5. Not happening. Same thing if you wanted to make a soup with the bones add $ 5. One dish that I did like was the lamb with cumin. That was pretty tasty, as the lamb wasn’t overly dry and had some fat on it which made it pretty juicy, though I wish it could have been a tad spicier. If you ever order this dish, I suggest ordering a bowl of rice too, as this is a salty dish. It’s nice place for some regional dishes and hanging out with friends, but if you want Peking duck, I suggest going to some other restaurants in Flushing, some others will provide you with 2 – 3 ways to eat the duck at a similar price.

I get the concept, aiming at restaurant goers who want a place to hang out after work to get some good peking duck with a cold beer. But I am seriously struggling with something positive to say. I wanted the duck to be incredible, to be wowed by a restaurant that specializes in one thing, to be able to recommend this place as THE place to go to for perfect peking duck. Unfortunately there is no way I can do that, and unlikely I will ever be back. Went on weekday afternoon. Empty restaurant. Ordered peking duck. Took 20 minutes… cost a whopping $ 18, mushy duck skin, duck meat bland beyond belief, and it was cut so poorly. They should’ve called it pulled duck(or hand-shredded duck) with mush skin. The condiments, sauce, and wrap were average. In addition, the complete lack of décor on the places barren white walls and the dark tables and chairs added no charm to the already meek restaurant. This is Flushing, and competition is strong. You have to do more than dish out below average quality peking duck and try and describe it as something else. I hate trashing restaurants, especially if they aren’t doing well, but this one needs a wake up call or they will not be in business for much longer :/

The specialty here is Peking Duck(you can’t go wrong if you point to the duck picture on the menu). It’s a unique taste that blends the rich fatty lumps of meat with the crispy thin crunch of the skin as well as scallions, cucumbers, and sweet sauce — all wrapped up in homemade flour wrap. They also gave me the such great as an appetizer, but I wasn’t sure how to eat it, since there wasn’t much meat on them, just webbing. The décor is spare and I found the dining room somewhat chilly. Unfortunately. The wait staff don’t speak English, but I managed with finger pointing and the help of a bilingual journalist i knew who happened to be eating at the restaurant when I was there. At one point I was the only customer and they turned on the radio, which played Top 40 hits(I didn’t mind since I rarely ever listen to pop music). Peking Duck would be a good restaurant to bring friends who are interested in tasting this specialized duck cuisine, but probably not good for family outings or large gatherings that require a wider variety of dishes. The Peeking Duck dish I ate costs about $ 20.

Tried many Peking duck restaurants and this is the best I’ve ever had in queens. Been back several times and the quality of food is great! The décor is not the best but you go there to eat :) Price is great too! The soups(tomato egg drop or seafood vegetable are both delicious)

The best peking duck in the new York region! I am from Beijing and have eaten my fair share of authentic peking duck and this place offers by far the closest thing next to getting on a 13 hour flight! But not only is the duck great, the other offerings I’ve tried along with my duck have been surprisingly delicious. To all the reviews regarding the duck soup. Truthful that is the authentic way that soup is suppose to be prepared. It is light but the purpose is to act as a counter point to the rich duck. This place is my go to and those of you who haven’t tried it you are missing out!

We came here for a Mother’s day lunch, and I immediately knew that this food would be amazing by the comfortable amount of space provided to us by all the vacant seats. We didn’t have to contend with a throng of full and happy looking customers like Nan Xiang and Canton Gourmet down the street. And boy let me tell you about the food. The fish in spicy mala sauce was so wonderfully oversalted. Upon first bite, it was disappointing with it’s nice sauce, but then the pleasantness of an unquenchable thirst set in after the 2nd or 3rd piece of fish. I enjoy nothing more than shoveling a bowl of rice into my face per bite of food that I eat. The duck arrived shortly after. I was expecting a nice dark caramel colored roast duck. That would have been disappointing, because, let’s face it, who likes perfectly crispy smokey duck skin. No, we got KFC looking pieces of still very fatty, soggy duck skin accompanied by pale, greyish duck meat. Wrapped into the under heated tortilla and it was the most delectable ball of grease I’ve ever had. Speaking of delectable, the soup was great. You could tell it was fresh, because it tasted like they had just washed another pre-cooked duck in it. It reminded me of home. Of a stagnant artificial lake and the musty smell it gave off after it hadn’t rained in a month. But, to top it all off, the service was great! I understand that at most Chinese restaurants, the wait staff isn’t really friendly, but they areexpedient. Not our waiter here! I had asked him for a glass of water, he half acknowledged me and completely forgot! Now that’s taking it to another level. I’m definitely going to come here again once I’m brain dead and forget what food is supposed to taste like.

Filthy, disgusting, over priced and Peking Duck isn’t freshly made. After dining for the first time, the whole group fell sick and frequent visits to restroom. Eat at your own risk.

Came here on a weekend with my family and thought it was kinda weird that the place was empty since most restaurants in Flushing gets really busy on weekends especially Sundays. The service here was good and our waiter and the owner were very nice people but the food especially the duck was at best mediocre and I really honestly can’t find myself coming back here again. –Good service –Mediocre Food –Nothing terribly bad to mention

As of late, there seems to be a rash of Peking Duck joints opening up around the Flushing area. I’m not complaining, but maybe the rate at which these places are opening up indicates a shift to a much more casual approach to what was once a meal only reserved for special occasions. In the case of Peking Duck House, perhaps too casual. I was mighty excited when I placed my Peking Duck order. I was all ready to love this place. Who cares that the décor was reminiscent of a 80’s nondescript Chinese restaurant. It just gives the place«character», I thought. They’re called«Peking Duck House», for gosh sakes, so it’s got to be good, right? The duck itself came out pre-cut on a plate at room temperature. Yes, room temperature. The larger, unforgivable sin was that the duck skin was NOT crispy! For you folks that may have never had duck or specifically Peking Duck, one of the highlights of almost any duck entrée is crispy skin! Crispy duck skin in Peking Duck(PD) is akin to what bacon is in a BLT(and don’t we really need the B to appreciate the LT?). The skin was wimpy, sloppy and saggy. It reminded me of Al Roker after the gastric bypass procedure he had done. The essence of PD is that wonderful contrast between the warm, juicy, succulent duck meat and the crispy skin topped off with some hoisin sauce and your choice of scallions, cucumbers or both. Take away crispy duck skin and what you have left is a substandard Peking Duck experience… and that’s just what I had here.

I visited today and had a very great time, the food was also very delicious! The service was perfect and timely, waiters kept checking on us, and food came quickly. We ate some stuff i never tasted before, duck mean with skin too, chopped scallions and cucumbers and some sauce to top with. This was served with tortilla type things, ahaha sorry im not chinese so i cant tell you the names of these things. and they made a delicious dish of chopped potatoes and green peppers which was the perfect wave of spicey and not too cooked! i givee them 4 stars over all! yuMmm

Duck was good however is bland compared to other shops around the area. Definitely skip the soup it’s just pepper and water. Ordered squid and it was not fresh, and a beef hot pot which the beef was not tender, and the hot spice was too overwhelming. Overall poor dining experience recommend you skip.
