New store front in Astoria. Fresh tea made at order & the Vietnamese sandwich is very good… Try the red velvet cookie, a layer of cream cheese in the middle. Ordered tea to go too…

Fresh Taro Purée Bubble Tea was the BOMB! It was a pleasure trying Tea N’ Milk at Unilocal Elite Takeover at LIC Flea event! I am usually pretty picky about my bubble teas and would normally overlook street bubble tea vendors like this one. I am so glad I did not miss out on their natural taro bubble tea! It was highly recommended by the friendly staff on site, so I decide to try it. Their taro bubble tea was so creamy, sweet, and smooth! It was so tasty that I can’t stop sipping it after my first. The friendly staff member told us that they purée their taro every morning and it is all natural. I usually stay away from taro bubble tea because I have not found a place that made it taste good… until now! It was definitely a lot better than the taro powder that I had before. Yay for natural taste! Now, I can definitely say: I am a Taro Purée Bubble Tea fan! :)

I want to preface this review by saying that I really don’t want to have to be the first to give Tea and Milk less-than-glorious reviews, but after finding a BEE at the bottom of my cup, after I had already drank the whole thing, and CRUNCHING on the insect, there is no way I can give a rave review. I’d like to point out that the staff at Tea and Milk are extremely friendly and give great customer service. He explained the menu to me and let me know which of the teas were the most popular, and helped me pick one based on what I was feeling like that day. I finally went with the taro milk tea + bubbles, which to my surprised, was made with real pureed taro and freshly brewed green tea. The milk tea at the LIC Flea is made with creamer vs. milk, due to the fact that milk would not keep well outdoors. The taro milk tea was not too sweet and I could actually taste the green tea. However, the taro taste was not strong, probably due to the fact that it was all natural taro used instead of flavoring. The tapioca was chewy, but did not taste like they were soaked in honey like most places, as they were not really sweet at all. I drank my tea to the end and opened the cap to get some of the tapioca out that would not go through my straw. While dumping the tapioca into my mouth(who looks at their drink?), I crunched on something. Thinking it was kind of weird to be crunching on something that was not ice, I thought maybe it was accidental plastic or something… and to my horror, I looked down and saw a mutilated BEE staring me straight in the face. Thus I started screaming and spitting and rinsing my mouth out because my father is allergic to bees and having never been stung, I wasn’t sure if I was either. I understand that LIC Flea is an outdoor venue and there are always going to be creatures flying around the place, but I feel like a better job should be done on covering things or something to make sure something like this doesn’t happen. The tea is freshly brewed, so I don’t think the bee could have landed in that, so not sure if it was in the tapioca or the taro or ice or what. I’m pretty sure Tea and Milk wouldn’t want to be liable if someone allergic actually chewed/ate a bee and became seriously ill. There’s no real excuse for having insects in your drinks. That bee was marinating in my drink the whole time and the worst part is actually CRUNCHINGONTHEBEE. Great teas — I’m sorry I had to have this experience.

What I like about them is that they really take their time to CRAFT their teas. I’ve been going to them since last year and they’ve since developed some new flavors. One critique on that front is that while I love the idea of freshly made taro from the actual taro root, mine lacked the taste of tea and essentially tasted like a milk shake, so not a winner. However, the oolong tea with cream is a mouth orgasm. I got the tea unsweetened and with the lightly sweetened and flavored cream, it is simply divine.

I had really high hopes for this place! My first time trying and I trekked my butt all the way to LIC from LES so to say I’m a bit sad, should be understandable The guy was super nice and explaining what’s best recommended for a first timer like me. He said to try their creative black tea with cream… it is similar to a crema. Black tea with boba on the bottom and the sweet milk cream floating on top with cinnamon sprinkle on top. He said I can mix it and it will become their signature black milk tea drink. After it was done and handed to me, he told me to drink it like a beer(lol but I don’t even drink beer!) which I did and I’m used to the milk being for foamy so to my surprise, it was a thick cream, kinda like whipped cream. The cream was sweet and not too heavy, it’s thick but still frothy. After a couple of sips, I couldn’t do it anymore and just mixed it and had it as a signature. I tried it as a mixed, and it wasn’t bad. Tea component was there and it was surprisingly light for a black tea. After a while, my drink didn’t taste as good and it got warm and I ended up tossing… hours later, I realize it was because there wasn’t any ice!!! Sad face

Tea and Milk has the best Taro milk tea I have ever had. They don’t use the artificial powder or sweetener so it is all natural and it is not overly sweet either. Their bubbles are chewy and freshly made just as their freshly brewed tea when you order. Love it. i will definitely come back for other flavors.

This is the best bubble tea I’ve ever tried. In NYC, that’s saying something. They brew each cup of tea fresh on the spot. My wife had the taro, it was great. This place is great.

I have been seeking out Tea + Milk at the LIC Flea and Astoria Flea for nearly a year now. I have yet to try a drink I didn’t like. The boba is consistently great and the drinks aren’t overly sweet. Reminds me of more traditional bubble tea places but with their own unique spin.

Tea n’ Milk is a standout at LIC Flea. I tried their Apple Chia and Roasted Oolong with bubbles(tapioca!) Apple Chia was light, refreshing, not overly sweet, and I enjoyed the apple slices and chia seeds. Roasted Oolong was creamy, layered, and uniquely distinct in taste. The thick layer of cream/milk and spice on top blends well with the strong tea. I also got a taste of their Taro Milk Tea and it is hands down the BEST I’ve ever had. Freshly blended taro without the purple coloring you get from powdered stuff! These guys value quality ingredients and you can tell that each cup is created with love when using fresh teas and fruits. I’ll be back to try the peach tea that everyone raves about.

I’ve stopped by there every time I’ve been to the flea, not only are they super friendly but they also make some of the best Boba I’ve ever had. They’ve got some great and unusual flavors. Everything is delicious.

Not your run of the mill bubble tea. They use real tea and everything is made to order. They have a new roasted oolong tea that has a milk cream layer on top which is amazing. It’s like whipped cream but thicker, creamier and tastier. It’s really great if you give your tea a few swirls and let the cream integrate itself into the rest of the drink a bit. I really appreciate the creative and thoughtful twists on what usually is a simple drink. Tea n’ Milk definitely distinguishes itself from all the rest. I hope they set up a permanent shop in LIC once the flea market ends for the season!

I stopped by the Tea n’ Milk stall at the LIC Flea this past weekend; had the roasted oolong milk tea with boba and was quite impressed. It’s great to see them use a fresh, real tea bags for every drink. Wish I had gone back for seconds and hope these guys bring a food truck or brick and mortar store to the neighborhood after the Flea closes for the season.

I really want to give them a 4.5 actually. :) Out of all the stalls at the LIC flea and food, this was the only one selling milk tea :) don’t worry, absolutely not a bad thing. I was checking out the other food stalls, and was really tempted to get a Thai iced tea at one of the stalls out front, but decided to wait till we saw what all the stalls had to offer and it’s a good thing that we did. Tea n Milk is at the back of the market, but I’m sure you won’t miss them! They have pretty ladies taking down your orders and handsome gentlemen brewing your milk tea behind them. I like the fact that they use actual tea bags and slices of fresh fruit and not some powder mix with artificial flavoring. Every cup is unique, freshly brewed and refreshing. I wish these guys were here at the beginning of the summer! I tried the black milk tea, while my friend got the apple green tea. Both were pretty good but I liked the apple green tea better, especially the slices of apples in the cup. Yum! At $ 4 for a medium and $ 5 for a large cup, you can’t go wrong. Oh, and they’ll add tapioca at no extra cost! Good job, Tea n Milk! I’ll definitely be back next weekend. :)

Excellent bubble tea at the Long Island City Flea. Very friendly ladies preparing bubble tea with fresh fruit not some pre-mixed powder. My Daughter got the peach and loved it. Will definitely come here again.
