RUN!!! I for some reason take hot dogs seriously; if and when someplace claims to be a hot dog joint I tend to have high expectations about something that should be simple to prepare. In short, don’t screw up a hot dog if that’s what you’re all about as an establishment. I love to eat local, but that doesn’t mean you get a pass if you can’t perform basic tasks. The chili dog I ordered came with what any respectable hotdog place would call«coney sauce», and had more cumin than required by any measure. The hot dog was heated rather than fried or steamed. The cheese fries were limp and served lukewarm. As to service, even though we were the only people actually eating there, the counter person look at us as if we were interrupting her day. Curt and unpleasant all around. The Double entendre laden t-shirts on the wall cannot detract from that fact that this place is badly run with poor product.

It is truly a stretch to give AJs even a 1. We went ther about a month after opening and were beyond disappointed. The dogs were lukewarm at best, the«chili» dog was as one poster put it, simply plain old burger topped on a slightly warm hotdog. We have not returned since last summer and will never go back. Would rather have cheap food at Maid Rite. Now Miad Rite has great chili dogs! AJs is the worst Quincy offers! YUK!

Just stopped in for lunch with my daughter. We ordered a chili dog, a philly steak sandwich, fries and onion rings. After a strangely long wait(we were the only people there), they brought out huge baskets of fries and onion rings. They were excellent. The fries were thick, but still crispy. The onion rings were huge with lots of crispy breading. They had a good sauce too, similar to Burger Kings. The sandwiches were underwhelming however. The chili dog was a hot dog covered in cumin-flavored hamburger. The Philly cheesesteak had salty shredded beef, onions, and semi-melted white cheese on a poppyseed hot dog bun. I wouldn’t get either one again. I will go back to try a regular hot dog. You can’t really mess up a regular hot dog right?

I will nearly agree wth Caleb’s sentiment, save for soggy. A chili dog or Coney as they are called in MI are chili mustard and onion. This is modelled after the Jackson style hot dog which is plain loose meat, dog and maybe mustard and onions. NOT a chili dog. The scary part of this place would the girls behind the counter. Yuck! Groce! Stay away until they can’t get it together. Service is very very slow. I ve been in there once too many times and will stick to Deters from now on.

I went here with my brother for lunch. I ordered two Chicago-style«dawgs» and some fries, and here ordered two chili«dawgs» and fried pickles. I thought mine were okay, but the buns were a bit soggy. My brother’s, however, were probably the worst chili dogs he, or I, had ever had, if they can even be called that. Like mine, the buns were soggy, and the«chili» they put on them was quite literally ground beef — plain, unseasoned, unsalted ground beef. It is safe to say that, in light of this terrible excuse for chili he paid six bucks to eat, neither he nor I shall be returning to AJ’s Dawgs.
