I have bought several bikes from Anderson Cycles, from kids Christmas gifts and husbands birthday gifts. I have always felt that the service was exceptional and never felt«sold» on anything I did not need or want. Paul really takes his time to understand what you want and need in a bike and never over-recommends anything. I would highly recommend Anderson Cycles

Expertise with a smile. Great service, kind staff and a special experience. Worth the short jump out of the city and into this neighborhood treasure.

purchased my first road bike from here to participate in the Pan Mass Challenge… the owner, Paul is very knowledgable and put me in a bike that got me thru 190 miles — will continue to use this store for upgrades and service — other staff members were great too… and Emma(their dog) is wicked cool.

Made the mistake of taking my bike here for a tuneup. Came back with the chains all greasy, my brakes scraping the tire rim, and the frame with a small, but noticeable scratch on it(that wasn’t there before dropping it off for service). Don’t make the same mistake I made. There are two other bike shops in the area that I am now aware of after checking online — Boston Bike Guy in Quincy Center or Landry’s in Braintree. Both alternatives have ower prices for bike service work(I called them for cost of tune-up to compare prices) and will probably do a better job than this place. Landry’s also appears to have a much larger selection on bikes, parts, helmets, etc… if you are looking to buy something. Boston Bike Guy is probably better for getting work done on your bike — unless you are looking for a used bike.

Unique store setup, top notch service from a friendly and knowledgable staff, and a sweet dog… what’s not to like? Purchased two bikes from them last weekend, and I would absolutely return in the future for service /additional equipment.

I bought my bike from here about a year ago. Most of my friends had started biking, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon(Get around cheaply and help me stay in shape). Paul, the owner, was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He asked what my budget was and what I wanted to do with my bike(commuting, touring, etc). He also answered a number of other questions I had in great detail. I know there was a complaint about him talking a lot, but hey, it’s what he does, and I for one appreciate him sharing what he knows. I was pleased with my purchase overall. Prices were par, but I felt like I wasn’t being bull-shitted. As such, I brought my girlfriend down here the other day as she was interested in getting a road bike(she can’t keep up with me on her mountain bike). She was really happy with the service, and as with me, Paul took the time to explain to her in detail what she should be looking at for what she wants to do(unfortunately for me, she makes more than I do, and ended up getting a better/faster bike than mine o0). One odd thing that’s pretty cool is that if your purchase is over $ 100, they’ll take 2% off of your total if you pay in cash. It might not seem like that much, but hey, When you’re dropping over a grand on a bike and equipment, $ 20+ is dinner!

I have extremely mixed reviews about this bike shop. I purchased a bike from them a year and a half ago now. The owner Paul was knowledgeable and helpful while I was researching what I wanted in a bike. He recommended an entry level road bike, for my amateur triathlon needs. I ended up purchasing the bike, helmet, tri-shoes and upgraded pedals to the tune of about $ 1700. He recommended sticking with the base package shifters, derailer, etc that came stock– I’m disappointed I listened on this matter. I’ve returned and made multiple purchases over $ 300 easily for bike gear but was always greeted with a smile and I was happy to support a local bike shop. To continue on, after ordering the bike and having my initial fitting, I was told that I should come back in a month or so after riding it for some time and adjustments would be made as needed. I called to try and setup a time to do this. I preferred a weekend and was told me I would just have to come in and see how busy it was in order to have Paul spend time with me. I visited the bike shop on two occasions and stood in line for 30 minutes behind a number of other people… and left. I called again and was told it was their busy season and there was nothing else to do but come in and try again. Since my purchase I have not been impressed by their customer service, Anderson got the sale out of me and clearly that was all they were after. I would say my experience has been mediocre and a friend’s has been way worse. I’m sure she’ll be Unilocaling about it soon.

last time I’ll go here — took my tire here to get fixed(only needed a new tube) and waited an hour because the guy doing it wanted to talk all night & spent way more than I should have. lower your prices & get the job done without all the jabber! Shouldn’t take an hour for a new tire

This place moved from Abington(i believe it was Les Bowles) and now is in Quincy. Being from Whitman, i wasn’t happy to hear that it was no longer right down the street, but i took the trip to Quincy anyway. The owner is always there, and eager to offer his advice and knowledge. I have bought a few«used» bikes that he has maintained and been more than happy with them. He stands behind his sales, and does a great tune up in a timely manner. With two good bikes shops in the Whitman area, i still make the trip to Quincy to get the service i deserve. Great bike shop, sales and service.

I bought a bike from them today. The sales people were friendly. Listened to what I was looking for, let me test drive a few and showed me how to work the bike I chose. It is the first bike I have owned in a long time and I was happy with the service I got. I will take my bike there if it needs to be repaired.
