This place is simply amazing. Just moved to Quincy from Boston and honestly the food here is better than what you will find in the North End. The portions and prices are incredible and the staff great. Got takeout tonight and couldn’t be happier.

Only reviewing the pizza, ordered pick up on a busy Saturday night at peak time(between 5&7) was told 20 – 25 mins, went down at 20 mins and pizza was ready, awesome! Pizza was good, very nice cheese and tomato, added pepperoni, mushrooms and peppers and came exactly as ordered and additional toppings were good also. Crust was a little on the pale side for my likings although it was cooked throughout and might have been a too dry if i’d have asked for well done crust. Service was fine, guy taking the orders on the phone, although was very busy, was still very pleasant. I’ll try dinner there soon and update later.

Honestly not a lot to say. It was dirty. That’s the first thing I saw as I walked in. A restaurant doesn’t need to be upper scale, I actually prefer a more laid back approach, but you do have to be clean. The thought that went through my mind was«if the front looks like this I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like».

Take out never disappoints. Chicken piccata over pasta is always perfect. Fried calamari as well, I always ask for it without the saran wrap because I open the lid on the way home so the steam gets out and doesn’t make it soggy. Service is always great and fast. Make sure you check their hours because it’s not the same everyday.

This place is great. Service was quick and friendly. Food was tasty and drinks were good. I had the calzone, it was cheap and gigantic. I finished half and called it a night. I was stuffed. Haven’t had there cheese pizza deal but if the pizza is as good as the pastas and calzone I’m excited. More to come…

Genarros is like the friendly neighborhood spot that you see on a tv show and wish that It was in your neighborhood in real life. The food here is pretty traditional red sauce Italian and it is very good(great quality, generous portions, tons of variety, eat in or take out). Prices are totally reasonable. Parking can be a bit of a challenge during peak times but worth it. Beyond all that, I think Genarros really shines when it comes to service; I can’t recall going to a restaurant where the people were more friendly, attentive, or appreciative of my business.

Came here with my dad and two kids. Kids pizza was huge, normal size kids chx tenders and fries. The chicken looked good, small crispy tenders. Dad got the special, mashed potato pizza with scallions and bacon, it was SOGOOD. Crispy, bubbly, drizzle of EVOO. I got the Chicken Gennaro. Angel hair with eggplant, prosciutto, pesto sauce, chicken, buff motz. Huge portion. I wouldn’t of cared if it was half the size, it was on point. The chicken was small skinny chicken tenders that were cooked just right. I brought the left overs home and my boyfriend raved about it. On the way out, the owner told us the kids could take a cookie. Then he suggested we take about 5 or 6 for the ride home. What a nice guy. My dad was about to order a cup of chicken soup to go at the take out window. He asked Gerry how it was and he explained how it was all homemade. Ended up giving him a cup on the house! You don’t find that kind of hospitality around much these days. I’ve been in the service industry for 20 years. It’s hard to get a good meal and feel appreciated for giving someone your business these days. I live in Boston but I’ll definitely be making trips back to Gennaros!

The good — The pizza was really good. I like the black napkins. the waitress did put my leftover food in the take home carton for me… and was personable. The odd — You can tell its a family run restaurant as noone that works there smiles at all. I almost felt like I should take an anti depressant or something while I was there. everyone has a grumpy look on thier face. Its also very bright. I feel like Im on stage or something. they definatly need to improve the lighting. but they probably do that because its a small place with rather narrow walkways between tables and the servers would prob get injured in any other lighting. unfortunatly it also shows that some of the girls that work there shouldn’t prob wear such form fitting clothes. I mean sure yoga pants make MOST people look hot … but some people still jiggle. but hey with the lighting at least you know the place is very clean. Also they have like dome security camera’s in the dining room which seems a bit overkill. totally unnecessary. Its just an odd atmosphere. the bad — There menu actually says 1 refill only on the fountain soda’s. I mean thats really a strange thing to nickle and dime on. Its not like there meals are super cheap … my chicken fettuccine alfredo was like $ 17 bucks. Im guessing its because the place is small and they don’t want people lingering. final thoughts. pizza was good, the fettucini was average. staff needs to smile more. Is say 3.5 stars but because there is no half stars in this case I gotta round down for the atmosphere and silly 1 refill rule.

Was looking for an Italian restaurant closeby to my home, & voila I found Gennaros, it has the authentic Italian flavours intact in all its items. Really happy to have it close by.

I used to be an avid… crazy in love fan of this place and then it just got bad. I mean, I feel like they don’t try anymore. They changed their tortellinis, sauce and even the cake! It’s like they don’t prepare and they go to Shaws at the last minute and get canned sauce or frozen pasta instead of putting the time into their cooking. I mean, is Gerry even cooking anymore? I’m so disappointed because I would go here once a week and now everytime I try to give it a second chance… or third or fourth, I remind myself why I don’t come here anymore. I hope they realize what they once were and re-evaluate their standards.

I remember Gennaro’s was really really good, but things seemed to have changed. The service took foreverrrr… Nice lady but seriously took forever. The first table that we were seated at just smelled horrible. It smelled like mildew, probably from the dirty rag that was used to clean the table. We asked to move to a different table, it was a little better, but the smell was still here. Usually we get excited for some bread. When my brother saw the bread, he said this is my favorite kind of bread, but when he buttered it up to take a bite, forget it. it was so hard. We ordered mozzarella sticks for apps and the first two sticks were good, but as you kept eating them, it became less consistent. The first two sticks had nice warm, gooey cheese, the following sticks tasted horrible. They were cold and the cheese was not melted or gooey just solid. My dish was the tortellini with chicken which was really good. It was nice and hot and a really large portion. My brother got the baked ziti and he said it was just okay, nothing special and a bit too cheesy. The only reason I really wanted to come here is to check-in on Unilocal to get the complementary dessert. Before I finished my meal, I checked-in on Unilocal and decided on the dessert of tiramisu since I knew it was going to take forever to get. The dessert book needs to be updated to make it look more appealing. Once the dessert came, it made things just a little bit better. The tiramisu was a little too soft and more of a creamy flavor than the coffee. By the time, we were ready to pay and leave, that took a VERY long time. I really want to support local businesses but this is just one that I don’t think I will come back to.

Gennaro’s is our favorite little lunch spot. The waitresses are personable. The restaurant ocassionally serves a toasted pizza dough with garlic sauce and marina as a complementary appetizer. DELICIOUS! I could order that alone and be completely satisfied. But the menu has the best Italian I have received anywhere. The salads are substantial and are served with the freshest greens. You can’t go wrong visiting this little and affordable hot spot. But before I sign off, did I mention the desserts. Oh man! If you are dieting, you may want to walk right by the dessert case. It is loaded with the most taintalizing Italian desserts. The serving sizes will never disappoint you.

I had pizza from there a while ago, maybe a year ago, and it was pretty good. This time not so much. In fact, it was gross. I was so disappointed, especially because I paid almost $ 24 for two small pizzas. The margerita pizza was terrible. What seemed to be CANNED tomatoes with basil that was not fresh, mozzarella, and a ton of olive oil. No fresh tomatoes or basil? Eww. The pizza was so soggy that when I tried to pick up a slice, the toppings slid right off. It was not good at all. Then I got their buffalo chicken pizza, which was not as bad as the margerita, but still bad. It was another soggy pizza with dry, overcooked chicken, too much buffalo sauce, and cheese. No caramelized onions, like the menu stated. Some of the chicken was so dry and tough I could not get my fork through it. And the whole pizza was drowning in buffalo sauce. Yuck. I was so bummed because I was craving pizza, and this did nothing for me. Probably won’t be returning.

This is a fantastic place! The portions are huge and the food is wonderful. I had the Chicken Fra Diavolo, and my boyfriend ordered the Lasagna with Meat Sauce. We both took half of it home, but if I could have eaten it all, I would have. The Rum Cake was equally delicious. Somehow, we found a way to finish one piece between us. Best of all was our server, Elaine. She is a real gem. Very friendly, and ever vigilant. We’ll definitely be back!

Had a lemon cake made for my wife’s birthday this past weekend. It was a HUGE hit. Everyone raved all night about how good it was. Thanks Jerry!

We had an awesome dinner here last night. Definitely, definitely try the lobster and pumpkin ravioli. It had a delicious creamy safe sauce. The lobster raviolis were a tad salty, but not bad. My mother had the eggplant Parmesan. It was okay — the eggplant was a bit dry, and the whole thing a bit tasteless except for some heat. A bit too zingy for not having any warning. Th desserts are all made in house, and there’s usually a daily special not on the menu. The carrot cake was a bit dry, but the frosting was spot-on. Server was a doll, and the plates are all literally 16″ wide. You definitely get your money’s worth here. Don’t expect every dish to be perfect, but nothing was at all disappointing.

An excellent local Italian shop, and apparently a local staple. I was at a graduation party that they catered from here, and I picked up the food for them. Even catered, the food was fresh, tasty, and not soggy because they made it right before we picked it up. The staff were extremely friendly and they carried all the food out to our car for us. Their baked good are also great, the tiramisu was to die for. Next time I will eat at the restaurant.
