pricey but good, owner is viet-chinese, so he brings authentic food to the US

If you live far from here, it wouldn’t be worth the hassle to eat here. However, if you live in the area, this is a solid place for sushi. They’re great for takeout or delivery, but they can get pretty crowded if you’re dining in the restaurant. The one time I ate there, the waitress took a long time to take my order and actually serve it to me. While I understand that the restaurant was packed, it still took so long that my date ended up giving me some of his dish since his food had come earlier. If that’s the norm when it’s busy, you’re better off relying on this place for takeout or delivery.

I came with a friend because it was her favorite spot. I didn’t like it much. They didn’t have any of my go to selections so I didn’t know what to get. I settled with tempura vegetables and it was so bland! With all the available sushi spots in Quincy I would pass this one.

Great hotpot place! Best hotpot you could get in Boston area with Sichuan flavor. Happy lamb is good for Mongolia hotpot, but this one is for Sichuan Mala flavor! It has the nine section pot, the idea from chengdu is to have nine different flavors, but this one didn’t really have nine flavors. Spicy level here are master level, medium one is pretty spicy. A bit pricy but highly recommend.

Warning: it’s not an authentic Japanese restaurant, but they serve really nice and authentic hot pot. They even serve pig brain and the quality is good. In addition, the beef is fresh and delicious. They also serve some kinds of sushi, but I don’t recommend them.

Hotpot was good, but doesn’t worth the cost. Just the soup costs $ 10(or $ 20 if you choose the 9 split one) and you only get to choose one flavor. You can get better hotpot somewhere else that’s cheaper and tastes better(ex: Q in Chinatown). Will not come back.

I was there for the hot pot, I can tell immediately it was worth it. Even though it’s quite pricey compared to other hot pot places, but it’s really authentic Szechuan flavor. I would definitely visit again.

My sister and I needed to kill some time before our massage appointment so we decided to get lunch. We googled sushi places in the area and Koi came up with some great reviews. Parking can be a little time consuming as the restaurant is on a main road. When we first walked in, we were immediately greeted and shown to our seats. The place is simple and modern with a clean bathroom. The waitresses were really nice and were able to explain everything we asked. The sushi taste fresh and it didn’t take long at all to get our dishes.

Hotpot! Come here for the sichuan hotpot, not the sushi. If you are up for a spicy meal, order the sichuan spicy soup and have them make it with the extra spice. You have a choice of either a pot split in half or split into nine sections. A large variety of hotpot items are available, including rarely seen ingredients shown only in chinese like pig’s throat and duck’s intestines. Price is closer to $$$ than $$. Soup itself was $ 20 and pushed our bill for 5 people to $ 210. Also note that they only take up to 3 cards, so if you have to split for the 3 ways bring cash. They do not take reservations so it’s first come first serve. Parking is available in the back and on the street(free after 6pm).

We got mild for the hot pot soup base and we were sweating our balls off. The waitress had to take out some of the peppers and spice and add water to the pot. She told us the spice is different from other spice, like kimchi. This one actually numbs your tongue and you’ll eventually get used to it. But no, it was very torturous eating it. If you can’t eat spicy, don’t come here! She was very nice though; made us this dipping sauce to clear off the spice. By the way, you make your own dipping sauce. The labels are in Chinese so ask the workers for help if you can’t read Chinese. Get their fried ice cream! It’s made with pound cake, so good!

Me and two other friends came here amidst cold weather. We loved it! We didn’t order any sushi, only came here for the special hot pot they have. It was an interesting experience!(In a good way) The 9 block hot pot thing they have is definitely worth a try and I will definitely come back.

Came here for my bday with the gf «wanted to stay local » and this is a place I do not want to come back for a second time even if they gave me a 50% off coupon. Most of the food«sushi side» was OK but not worth trying again. The baked scallop with imitation crab is the worse thing I have eaten«I’m a lover of baked hotate » came out very warm not hot and that should of been a red flag but with me I’m hard headed so I ate it anyways and as I write this my stomach is not doing too well«my stomach usually can handle a lot» The eel with rice was a fail since they didn’t use Japanese rice but seemed to me Chinese rice. ” rice was a bit on the dry side“ The gf ordered three Makis and only two came out«thank goodness» could of went to SS Plaza food court and have better tasting Makis Squid balls wasnt bad. I think that was the best thing that came out of this dinner. Drinks, I ordered the Mai Tai all I tasted was liquor and nothing else so if you want straight up shots then this is the place for you. I noticed most tables were having hot pot. Guess this place is more about hot pot than sushi«didnt see anyone having sushi» more red flags!!! Speaking of hot pot, I kept sneezing so bad since the only thing that was coming from it was spice and spice and more spice… Staff, 2stars Food, –1star Price, reasonable for what it is So for my bday only good thing that came out of eating here was spending some QT with the gf…

My favorite hot pot in Boston. I’ve been here twice in the past week. Love the design of hot pot, with 9 cells separated for different food. This type of hot pot is very popular in Sichuan China but seldom seen in Boston. A little less spicy than I expected, but not a big problem. Easy to park in street.

Disappointed of the hotpot. Nothing but spice. Soup too bland. We ordered the 9 separator hotpot which only comes with one soup base. I would like it if we had more choices on soup. We only got the choice of mild and extra spicy. We picked mild and we almost died… So if you cannot eat spice, don’t be a hero. I’m disappointed because my coworker raved about this restaurant too much. To a point I was too amped to try it. I guess I sorta set the bar too high. For the three of us, dinner was $ 170(with tip). The bill came with a tab of $ 130 labeled hotpot and there were no list of items we ordered. Was it hotpot buffet? We don’t know because there were no communication between us and the waitress. Sad. Mind you, I tipped 20% despite how disappointed I was with the food and service. Good for the experience of a different type of hot pot. Prob won’t come back though. :( 2 stars for their amazing fried greentea ice cream. Best part of dinner lol… The pineapple ice cream was ehhh.

Worst. Service. Ever. Hot pot food was ok but one of my friends who ordered a simple bento box had to wait 45 minutes. When asked if they forgot the order, the waitress obviously lied saying that bento boxes take 45 minutes(even though 15 min before my friend had to remind her of the missing order and the waitress reasked her what she ordered). The waitress checked on our table once during the whole visit and didn’t even fill our glasses of water(even when asked). This wasn’t even at a busy time for the restaurant either(2pm on a Saturday afternoon).

Glad I swung in to treat myself to a bite here. The spicy seafood miso soup is, in fact, spicy. Pleasant! Happy with the quality of accoutrement. Good quality wasabi and ginger to accompany my spicy tuna maki. A lot of locals here, seems to be a good sign. Was hoping to sit at a bar, but happy with a window seat watching the first snow of the season fall. Will be back to try more.

This is a belated review for the 3 times that I have gone here. The impression was that it was so clean and the food was really good. It is a quaint place with a few several tables and tends to be quiet until dinner time or a heavy lunch time. I liked how the things were actually very flavorful. We had gotten a few rolls including the koi, scorpion, unagi, uni, shrimp tempura and red dragon. I had also gotten a dish of vegetable stir fried udon and a bowl of udon. The rolls: came out pretty like any sushi place and was cleanly presented by the owners who were nice and generous making sure that we knew what was in each roll and what each roll was in case we forgot the name. My favorite roll recommendation is the«Koi» roll since you can definitely NOT find it anywhere else. The udon was stir fried well and was not very bland. There wasn’t much msg in it and I can tell as I am extremely sensitive to overloads of msg. The main reason that I am probably the few low ratings amidst the 4⁄5 stars is because I came across something in my latest visit that repulsed me. I had eaten a meal with my sister and came back from the restroom and outside the restroom, I witnessed the waitress putting a bunch of dirty forks and knifes into a big pitcher, like the ones that you see them pour ice water from, she then took a cup of hot water, and poured them over the utensils in the pitcher. I walked back to my table at that point but kept watching her to see what she would do. Underneath the TV is where the ordering station machine is. It sits on top of a drawer that the waiters pull out too get the utensils and chopsticks, while the plates and other dishware sit ontop of that table. I witnessed the waitress bringing the pitcher of utensils over and taking each of the forks, knife, spoons and wiped them dry with a towel and placed them into the drawer. I don’t know if the utensils are actually cleaned correctly, but this is one of the major reasons that I am not coming back which is a shame because the food is good, service is okay and the atmosphere is nice.

Finally came in for dinner. Staff was quick to greet. Place was somewhat busy not packed. We were able to get a table right away. Service was okay. A little mess up on our order but it was easily fixed. The sushi quality was alright — think the knife skills were a bit lacking(found scales in several pieces of sashimi). Presentation was nice. Overall a bit overpriced. Noticed several nearby tables had ordered some hot pot. Maybe we’ll go back to give that a shot.
