Goodness, too many great things to say. Just trust the locals and visit this place. Everything is FRESH — even make their own ketchup. I would much rather spend my money on impressive tasty fresh food. Their little space is perfect, atmosphere is ideal — exciteddd to see what they do with their new location in Talaynas old building. Perfect spot for meeting friends for an enjoyable meal. Try everything!!!

This corner café across from the plaza in Quincy was a great find. The food is 90% locally sourced. I don’t know if they claimed it was organic, but it certainly tastes like it is, very fresh and high quality. We were looking for a farmers market, tough to find on a Sunday in Quincy, but this was even better because the food tasted like it was just bought from one. They have some outdoor seating, and although it was a crowded Fathers Day, it was comfortable inside. Really enjoyed the Fathers Day special, steak and spinach omelet with fried potatoes, homemade ketchup, and fresh made English muffins with jam that also must have been freshly made. If you have time to kill waiting for a table, check out the slavery exhibit next door put on by the Historical Society.

They don’t take AMERICANEXPRESS! A big problem when you are in a business lunch. Will not be back until they take it. Also, their fresh salmon is deep fried. What?

Highly recommend their monthly Farmers Dinners! And of course the lunches, take outs, etc. Just sign up for their monthly newsletter — you can do that using Unilocal — to learn about locally sourced farm fresh food and what will be served at these dinners. Make your reservations quickly! Their newsletter delves into the what’s and why’s of farm fresh foods. The topics can be real ‘eye openers’ and actually tasting the locally grown foods can be enough to cause anyone to change their own food shopping and eating habits. We have about an hours’ drive to Quincy and always have Thymes Square on our list of stops to make! One of our favorite restaurants in the region!

Definitely deserves the 5 stars and then some. Had their biscuits and gravy– some of the best I’ve ever had. Their country potatoes are some of the closest to perfect potatoes I have ever had. Good atmosphere, good service, good prices!

My colleague and I went there after work for breakfast on a whim, and were blown away by the excellent service and superb food. The food was so good that I asked for another serving of the same meal, just so that I could take it home for a later lunch. First time there, and believe me, it won’t be the last. My colleague has already been there three more times since then, and says she cannot get enough of it. Throughout our meal, all we could do was exclaim how scrumptious the food was. The service was excellent and fun, which made the entire experience all the more enjoyable. Updating my review, to be more precise, it is very important to note that the food here is prepared by farm produce garnered from local farmers and gardens, and even their meats like their corned beef in the hash and the bacon, are actually cured here in the kitchen. Even the orange juice here is freshly squeezed and not of the frozen concentrated kind that many restaurants resort to using. It’s thick, and not at all brightly and artificially colored. I had the utmost pleasure of trying their splendid cherry jam today, and I couldn’t have asked for a better preserve on my English muffin. If eating breakfast here is a part of heaven, please don’t let me return to Earth.

We love going to this place! The breakfast is to die for! Every time someone asks me where to go to eat for lunch or breakfast, I always recommend this place. So impressed at how they use all local ingredients and almost everything is made from scratch. Thyme Square is a great addition to Quincy’s downtown district and is a must for anyone visiting. It’s so great, it leaves you with a food coma!

I’ve tried many items on their menu and have never been disappointed. I’m especially invested in eating here due to their practice of shopping locally first. We need more businesses that support each other.

I need to find a reason to go back to Quincy! What an incredible breakfast. My husband had the Corned Beef Hash with poached eggs and I was green with envy until I took a bite of my Charcuterie Omelet. The bacon, ham and sausage is all house made and delicious. When I saw the bacon served on a plate I wished I had ordered a side of that, but didn’t want to appear a glutton. You will die for the potatoes and house made English muffins! Oh! Let’s not forget the apple spread. Great staff and a very fresh, clean environment! I will be back. I need to try lunch at Thyme Square Café!

Thyme Square does everything right, every time. They have a large, but carefully-selected menu for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. They have lots of tables, but not so many that you feel like you’re in a cavern. They’re located on the town square, and the large windows let in lots of locally-sourced light, complimenting the locally-sourced menu items. They have excellent service! You’ll be in and out in 30 minutes if that’s your goal. Or you can stay and sip on another glass of the homemade flavored iced tea. Free wifi and an outdoor patio round out the experience. I’m in Quincy at least once a month for work, and I always look forward to eating here.

I stayed in Quincy for about two weeks on business, and the only thing I regret, was that I waited until my last few days to discover this place. Fresh, Fresh, Fresh. Farm to table at an amazing price. By far the best restaurant in Quincy. The Reuben is one of the better I have had, and that’s saying something. ½ lb. Spicy bacon burger was delicious. Great flavor, great ingredients, just the right amount of heat. Pulled pork was great as well. Huge flavor and fresh crispy jalapenos make this a dish to try. Every lunch I had with a drink was about 12 $. Great price for the quality. They could charge more and I would gladly pay it. My only complaint… is that they aren’t open for dinner. Be sure to give this place a try. I didn’t get a chance to try breakfast, but I would recommend giving it a shot based on the quality of lunch.

The Eggs Benedict are the Best. A fresh seasonal fruit is always an elective side. Then comes home made jam and English muffins. All of this and a view of historic Washington Park site of Abraham Lincoln’s strategic 6th debate versus Douglas.

Yum, yum, yum!!! This joint is putting out some seriously good food. Ordered th garden omlet and it was delicious, then I finished with the homemade jam and homemade English muffin. The jelly! And every now and again through my meal I would get a waff of smoked meats… I’ll be back to check out what ever that was.

Thyme Square Café is perfection. They specialize in Farm Fresh food, which is not only great for your body, but also for the farmers and local community. The owners are always there and form a bond with every person to walk in the door. They have brought a whole new concept to Quincy, Il that you cannot find anywhere else in the surrounding areas. Their love for tasty food, the community, and the service industry is noticed in every bite. Keep up the awesome work Thyme Square!

First visit here and now wishing I would have stopped in here awhile ago. What a fantastic local café. Breakfast was perfect from taste to temperature. Good cup of coffee too. Neat atmosphere in old town Quincy. The cooks do a great job on food presentation. They make a lot of the items in house. I’m going back tomorrow.

Best restaurant in Quincy! Went here for breakfast a couple times and lunch a couple times too. I wish I had found it earlier because I would’ve gone even more! This place makes all of their food from scratch, it’s all super fresh and tastes amazing. Both their breakfast and lunch menus have several tasty options. the specials we tried were delicious(especially the white chocolate pumpkin cheesecake!) and the staff was always super friendly and accommodating. This is one of the only places that we found with the whole super fresh, farm to table vibe in Quincy and my only gripe is that they weren’t open for dinner! Chef Shupe does magic in the kitchen. definitely a place to stop by in Quincy!

Who knew the best burger of my life would be 5 and a half hours from my house?! My sister and I went down to Quincy, Illinois to visit my baby brother at college over a long weekend recently. Being the elite Unilocalers that we are, we were constantly trying to seek out the best stores and restaurants to dine while we were in the area. The night before we left, we pulled up Unilocal to see what breakfast/lunch options we would have for the next day before we hit the road and came across Thyme Square Café. People had plenty of good things to say about this restaurant and it was enough to get us to make this our destination. We were a little behind schedule that particular morning and after a quick stop across the street at the Quincy Farmers Market, we missed breakfast time and only had lunch as an option. No complaints from me! We walked in to what truly felt like a café. It’s a smaller place with seating both inside and out, a small bar where you could sit and eat and staffed with some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. After reviewing their menu, I discovered that these folks use fresh, seasonal, quality ingredients in all their dishes. Around the table we had a pork sandwich with their bacon potato salad, a prime rib sandwich also with the bacon potato salad and I had originally ordered their poached chicken sandwich but after seeing a burger pass by me, I tracked down the server to see if it was too late to change my order to a burger and the owner stopped by to let me know they were more than happy to accommodate! He took my order and a short while later, my gorgeous cheeseburger with bacon and pickles arrived. My sister and brother enjoyed every bite of their lunch and were kind enough to let me taste both the potato salad and the prime rib. Both were delicious. I could not believe how much I enjoyed the the potato salad, I was almost upset that I ordered the homemade chips but I wanted to try something different than everyone else. My burger was beyond delicious. It was incredibly juicy and flavorful. I was mad while I was eating it because I knew if I wanted to have it again, I would have to drive more than 5 hours to get it. The service here was friendly. The food was top notch and the atmosphere, while simple, it was lovely and clean. My baby brother graduates from college next May, and I have every intention of making at least one meal at Thyme Square while we’re in town that weekend. Make sure you don’t drive past the best burger in the entire state and stop by Thyme Square Café in Quincy!!!
