Just ate the soul plate… Pretty good! Wife got the one meat plate, said it was delicious. Banana pudding was great! We’ll def be going back. The pulled pork was super moist. BBQ sauce taste amazing!

Probably the worst BBQ around. If you want bland, you might like it. You’ll never see a smoke ring. There will never be a seasoned crust around it. Go find a real BBQ place. Last time I went, ordered 2 lbs brisket & 1 rack of ribs. Got home no ribs, but had been charged for them. Of course they were already closed. We had to warm the beans and add spices to make them edible.
Want some real BBQ in the area, try 4Ts in Forney. Probably the best around close.

I like this location way better than others I have been to. All of the food was warm and ready. They did short us some bread on a family meal order, but overall a great place for BBQ! And the staff there were a very friendly group of young gentlemen.

We finally broke down & tried this BBQ place. It was not a place that I would ever eat at again. My husband got the three meat meal & was sub par for BBQ. I got the fried fish that was under cooked & over priced. We went to the drink station to get our drinks & the employee had a customers raw meat order on the station & you had to squeeze through the people standing there & the meat all over the drink station. So unprofessional & disgusting! They have a bell to ring as you leave the place but the only place that bell should be is behind a barn!!!

If you want average bbq then this is the place to come. The service was not very good nor were they friendly, the meat was cold and not very flavorful, the fried food was overcooked, and it was just a plain experience. The other reviews must have been written by locals because this place really wasn’t that great. I don’t recommend it if your looking for real bbq.

This Soulman’s is my favorite of the several locations I’ve visited. Friendly service and lots of yummy sides. They have monthly specials. I just tried the January special; hickory smoked half chicken with choice of two veggies or a baked potato for 7.99. Very tasty.

I would give this place 3 ½ stars… This is a very competent, small local chain. They serve good quality brisket, both chopped (ground) and sliced. The turkey was a tasty, non-​red meat option, and they serve all the basic sides, decently prepared. Service was friendly.
