A fun slice of Kentucky old-timey ambiance. Rabbit Hash is a nice place to spend an afternoon soaking in some authentic Kentucky. Always wanted to see live music there, which must be a lotta fun.

Ummm the other reviewers must not have been to the same place I was. This is an old falling down building on the Ohio River. Its main purpose is selling beer, soda and t-shirts to a bunch of weekend bikers that hang out in front of the store smoking weed and drinking beer. We were told how awesome this place was and took my mother in law, visiting from Bavaria, and we were completely shocked how un-awesome it was. If you are a weekend pot smoking biker that likes stray dogs coming up to you, this is totally for you. Save your time and money.

Rabbit Hash General Store is a proper general store. This store has nothing in common with current convenience stations and that is a wonderful thing. This is a store as I remember as a kid. This general store has a bit of everything, from a cold beer, which there are some craft even local crafts available, candy, wears and trinkets. Walking into Rabbit Hash and the general store really will take you back to a simpler time — a store for the customer and not for the stakeholders. You can’t create the amount of charm and character this store has, it is developed over time by the right people in the right place. Next time you find yourself near the Hash — stop in grab a beer or a soda and a snack to be enjoyed with great views of the Ohio River and Rising Sun.

The Rabbit Hash General Store(and Rabbit Hash in general) are like stepping back in time. This little river town plays hosts to festivals, the barn has live music, and there is a brand new bandstand for warmer months. Be sure to check out all of the store, there is a back room with clothes and antiques, and more antiques across the street!

Hidden gem! What an awesome little town. Locals are very kind! You can spend hours taking pictures. My favorite is the general store! You also need to meet the mayor of rabbit hash!

I love Rabbit Hash. My friend had her wedding here, and it couldn’t have gone any better. The General Store was an eclectic mix of stuff, the little BBQ stand fired up around 2 pm, and the large covered sitting area provided a nice backdrop for lunch. (And the wedding itself: on the little stage by the river, which is home to the bands that regularly play down here.)

Not just a typical general store. There’s an eclectic mix of things. We stayed in the Old Hashienda for one night and really enjoyed it even though there was nothing going on in Rabbit Hash that night. We will definitely have to return when there is an event taking place. We didn’t see the mayor but Travis the cat stayed with us in the Hashienda.

Frozen in time, the Rabbit Hash General Store operates much in the same way it did when it opened in 1831, with laid-back Southern charm. The small store is packed to the gilt with antique odds-and-ends, locally crafted gifts, handmade soaps, organic foods, green toiletries, and Kentucky made sweets. Ooh, and don’t forget beer. You’ll be hard pressed to find another local landmark as fabled as Rabbit Hash General Store, given that this is the same town that voted a family dog as mayor. On any given sunny spring and summer weekend, cars will be lined up and down the one-lane winding river road by the store. Photographers, bikers, and antiquers have embraced idiosyncratic and idyllic Rabbit Hash, because there just isn’t any place like it. The best time to visit is on any evening when local bluegrass bands are playing. One word of warning: It’s a very long, scenic drive to Rabbit Hash, so be sure to make a pit stop in Burlington or Union(depending which way you’re traveling) because the only facility available at the General Store is a makeshift outhouse. Trust me – it isn’t pretty.
