Our party of six went over for dinner last night — it was my first visit and based on my friend’s comments, I was looking forward to an enjoyable experience. The view: 5 stars. Who can resist a beautiful mountain lake? The service: 3.5 stars It was friendly but very disjointed… drinks came out quickly, salads took too long, salads taken away because main courses were on the way… they actually arrived in approx five minutes. The food: 3 stars(would rate at 2.5 if possible). My Caesar salad was warm and limp — crisp romaine not to be found. A couple of my dining companions had the house salads and enjoyed them. One person ordered the buffalo burger and was very clear as to cook temp — a notch more rare than medium rare. It arrived well done. My basic flatbread(mozzarella, tomato, basil) was soggy and unappealing — totally void of any crispy texture. Two ordered the pasta and veggies dish — needed salt and flavor. The scallops were good and the calamari was ok. The good news is that the manager stepped in and offered a couple of comped desserts and ticket adjustments. Overall experience: 3 stars

She crab soup was bland. Truffle Mac and cheese needs, well, more cheese. Added chicken to berry salad, was a waste, six little pieces. Flatbread was doughy and greasy. Calamari was tasty. French onion soup was good. Beautiful views

Love the new menu. Mozarella lollipops are always a favorite, but always enjoy their appetizers. Everyone agreed it was the best calamari they ever had. Had the fresh rainbow trout and it was amazing. Always good service and a nice vibe.

This is my second time here. The service was awesome. The food was excellent. Had burgers and home frys. Others had sweet potato frys. Creamy Alfredo was awesome also. Food came fast and hot. Server was Kim! The atmosphere was incredible.

I went to Laprade’s for Sunday brunch with friends and it was alright. If this place didn’t come with an amazing view and sit right on Lake Burton, I’d probably be pretty disappointed. We got an outdoor patio table right by the bar, so that some of my friends could watch some sports game that I didn’t care about. Bonus points for a decent flat screen and bar area if that’s your bag. The brunch menu consisted of about 5 – 6 brunch entrees. Call me a brunch snob, but I expect more like a dozen different brunch choices. Let’s just say that my beloved spinach and mushroom egg white omelet didn’t appear to be an option. When our incredibly awkward server came to take our order, I went for an iceberg wedge salad because you can’t mess that up. I mention he was incredibly awkward because the dude just hovered at the table silently until we noticed him. This happened continuously. There was never a «hi’, just a hover. He brought out my wedge and spoke for the first time letting me know that they were out of iceberg lettuce but subbed with romaine lettuce. Weird. It was fine, not the best wedge I’ve ever had but certainly the first one with the wrong type of lettuce. Everyone at my table moderately enjoyed their meal, but no one was raving. All and all, Laprade’s has a killer view, but the food is not spectacular. I’ve also had the classy white tablecloth dinner experience here before and it was completely unmemorable. I don’t turn up my nose at eating here when I’m up at Lake Burton, but I don’t go out of my way for it either. Hey, at least it’s pretty.

Tasted like raw dog! The calamari was tough, my salad was wilted, my vegetables weren’t cooked, and my steak was fatty, gristly, and tasted like it had been marinated in bar funk. Worst $ 140 dinner I’ve ever had!!! I WON’T be back.

This restaurant had a beautiful view of Lake Burton; and was a few feet away from a gorgeous dock with a bunch of boats. The service was very good, and everyone was friendly. My only problem was the food. It really wasn’t the best. My whole family ordered something different, and we all tasted each others meals. Most of them were not good, they were lacking flavor. I ordered an Alfredo penne with sun dried tomatoes and broccoli. The sauce was very watery and bland. The only reason why I gave it two stars is because of the view and amazing service.

We are at the patio bar. The restaurant was booked with a private event. The food was very good, the service was awesome and the drinks were on point. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio and marina. It was chilly outside so they started the fire pit for us. The wedding band was great and we loved dancing on the patio around the fire. Wonderful hospitality. Will definitely return,

We ate here for lunch. The food was very good. I had the special which was ham and cheese on sourdough bread with heirloom tomatoes, baby greens and black pepper mayo. Others in my party had the basic burger which they also said was very good. The menu is mostly upscale hamburgers and sandwiches for lunch. For dinner the menu is more toward the fine dinning side like the chophouse name implies. The problem I had was with the wait time. We had to wait just at an hour to get our food. When we mentioned this to the manager her response was that she was sorry but it was lunch and they had several large groups, and that when you came in at lunch it was going to be slow sometimes. She also said that there were several big groups and they got served first. Just overall the explanation was just unacceptable. My option is that she should have just apologized and maybe done a little something to may it right like give us a small discount or something. The explanation that it was lunch just made us all think the same thing that lunch is just always slow. If that is true or not I don’t know that is just the impression I got. However, the food and atmosphere was good enough that I plan to go back and see.
