The Environment is in the acceptable range. A bit dated and in need a a update. The staff is in desperate need of training I thought I was at a fast food restaurant. Drinks soup and main entre all arrived at once. I wanted a dining experience not a «PIT» stop experience. So if you need to eat on the run this place is for you. If you want the romantic meal go somewhere else!!!

Wholly unremarkable. A waitress who was troublingly spacey. Décor is somewhere between old Las Vegas, a hospital cafeteria and a spartan basement bar. Look elsewhere.

So, my wife and I used to frequent here almost every week for the fish fry. Most times, I would get a non-fish entrée. After they made several changes to the menu, we saw a decline in the quality of the meals, so we stopped eating here. Well, tonight we decided to give it a try again. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the dinner experience was too low for us to become frequent patrons again. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, which was still really good, but it is as simple as the name suggests. My wife had a fish fry, with both fried and baked fish. The fried fish had overcooked batter, and the baked fish was plain without any butter or sauce. There were only those two pieces at first presentation and they were quite small. The hand-cut french fries had been replaced with repulsive seasoned curly fries. The service was pleasant, but unacceptablebly slow as the bartender doubled as our waitress. Oh well, I guess we might try again in another year or two, but not anytime soon.

Friday night Fish Fry was great! Beer battered cod was crispy and three huge pieces even though it was all you can eat!

The wait staff was very cold and did not seem to want to be there. All the tables around us were commenting on it. The buffet breakfast was out of pancakes and French toast the whole time we were there. The guy manning the griddle was short and not friendly. Even if this meal was free it would not be worth the price.

It is a clean comfortable environment if you sit away from the bar. I think they are trying to draw the sports bar crowd in with finer dining. I’ll be honest we ordered the specials which were both good. However, I think the pricing on the menu is more in line with finer dining in Chicago. But the specials are good and more affordable. Service was average. Had to wait ten minutes after dinner for our waitress to appear. Some of the staff lingered around the hostess table and were gossiping about another employee. Hum. I’d go again with the understanding it is just a restaurant, nothing extra special.

The Grilled Pork Flatiron Steak was excellent — a complete delicious plate — grilled medium-rare, perfectly paired with Whipped Sweet Potato, fresh Asparagus and a Cranberry Chutney — and all for just $ 16 !! Excellent value. Great craft beer & local beer selections on rap and bottles too. Waitress Mary was great also, friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Nice place to go if you’re in the Racine area. A bit pricey for what you’re getting but the atmosphere is nice, service is friendly, and the food is presented well although the flavors are not far off from what you’d expect from other restaurants. Convenient if you’re staying at the hotel and want a nice relaxing and quiet place to enjoy a meal. In general all the food tasted fresh and did seem to use slightly better than normal ingredients. My favorite dish I tried was the Gnocchi Ala Vodka as the other ones seemed to be a bit bland. I also enjoyed the Beer Braised Reuben as the taste of the beef was prominent and the other elements complemented instead of distracted from the flavor. I wouldn’t make a special trip to eat here again but I would stop by if I’m in the area.

Nothing to write home about, but a nice relaxed atmosphere with a suitable noise level and lighting. Was saddened to be surrounded by Fox news & Fox sports all around us! Good grief, a really sad commentary on Racine if this is all they can muster! The chicken soup was lukewarm, at best. The chicken marsala was good(and hot!) and the basil pesto was quite tasty. The service was comfortable and will timed. Don’t think I’d be returning, however, even if I weren’t leaving the state.

Great food — fresh ground beef burgers — Great service — Kevin was very attentive and friendly — ambiance was work approved — had lots of opportunity to have business conversation without interruption. Absolutely recommend swinging in!

We come here every time we visit family in the area. The breakfast is one of the highlights of our trip. Outstanding food and lots of options at a great price. Very friendly staff too. Definitely check it out.

This is an adventurous menu, not like we really have in Racine. Everything I’ve had has been really good. The scallop with the mango and the beef with beet are my favorites, but everything I’ve seen or tasted off others’ plates have been just as decadent. The service can be spotty and awkward, and so far, I’ve only seen the place pretty dead. One time, we also received back to back mishandled meat, which we’ve chalked up to just a bad day, or maybe that guy got fired, who knows? Unilocal! has a nice 15% coupon for check-ins, which helps out, as they’re a bit pricey. I think it’s totally worth it, though, because the menu kinda speaks for itself.

I LOVVVVEEEE this restaurant! So quaint and cozy! I bring all my friends and family here for brunch, dinner(fish fry) & drinks. Never had a complaint from my guests nor myself! The hostess is wonderful — she’s so personable and down-to-earth. The servers are excellent and attentive. Food is great as well. Brunch includes made to order omelettes and waffles, etc. Friday fish fry is good as well.

The staff could not have been more accommodating to our large group of 21 at the Sunday brunch. The food was very good, the hostess and our server made sure we were well taken care of.

Stopped in for a weeknight dinner with my boyfriend and his mother. We were seated right away and our waitress promptly took our drink orders. His mother ordered the salmon, my bf ordered the scallops and I ordered a blackened ribeye off the special menu. My first bite of the ribeye was delicious. Very flavorful, but then I cut into the other side of the steak and it was over cooked. Promptly sent my dish back. Thank goodness for the bread basket on the table to help quiet my grumbling tummy. I sampled my bf’s scallops and they were delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. I received my redone steak about 10 min. later, a perfect medium temperature. The downside to my dish: I’m pretty sure they took my potatoes from my first plate and put it on the new one, asparagus was way over salted and the assortment of «fancy» mushrooms that adorned my first plate were sparse and substituted with more button mushrooms. At this point I was too hungry to complain. Overall, besides the minor hiccups, flavors were good and so was the atmosphere.

Friday night is the time for fish fry and this is the place. Your greeted as you enter the doors by a smiling host or hostesses. The restaurant has seating for a more relaxed feel or you can choose the bar for a bit of a trendy vibe. Your server will bring you fresh rolls and Chicago flatts to nibble on while the kitchen prepares your meal. You have the choice of fried or baked fish. Why not be daring and order both. I personally love the french fries, hand cut but choose the potatoe thats your favorite. All in all a great place to have dinner if you’re alone or a party of 20(Call ahead it’s the polite way to go!) they have you covered.

I got in late and they were still open. The waitress was excellent and helpful without being overbearing. I ordered the French cut pork chop and it was delicious! Taking the Key Lime pie home

Had dinner here mid week because I was staying at the hotel. Restaurant was nearly empty. I got to choose my seat and I. Picked a big booth. Since I was alone, I sat on the quiet side to work vs on the louder bar side. I ordered a small Caesar without croutons and a cheeseburger, medium, with blue cheese, double lettuce, and tomato with fries. Lighting was low which was great to see the computer screen. Music was on the perfect background volume. The Caesar was really tasty! But it did have croutons as wells as grape tomatoes and olives. I would get it again. The burger was prepared a specified. It came on a pretzel bun. I asked the server which was better– the homemade fries or the homemade potato chips. He said both were good but he gets the fries. So that’s what I got. The homemade fries were very, very good. Too good! The key lime pie was tart, the way I like it. The presentation was very fancy too. My waiter said the cheesecakes were the best sellers. Maybe next time! It took awhile to hunt someone down to pay my bill. This is a great option if dining alone and you want to work.

Sunday afternoon and there were about 6 other patrons, 2 busboys and the waitress. She was nice enough and tried her best, however a pleasing disposition couldn’t overcome the lackluster dining experience. 6 in our party and the waitress brought out the burger, flatbread pizza, and one ruben… we waited for about 4 – 5 minutes and two more plates arrive, two more rubens, still no penne pasta and meat balls… we all wait another 4 minutes and the last dish arrives. FOOD: Pasta, just past. meatball, just meat rolled into a ball. Little distinction or taste. Ruben, the three who ordered agreed, tough. Burger: a burger Fries: ordered well done, crispy… arrived dark brown and soggy, probably had fries under warmer already and threw them back in for a couple minutes… not good at all. Waitress brought us «homemade» potato chips instead, passable yet tasted like they were made this early this morning rather than anytime close to lunch. They advertise: «Racine’s Best Ruben» My advice, drive North to Milwaukee or South to Chicago to get a good Ruben.
