Hhgregg

For those that may not know, this store is connected to Regency Mall. It has it’s own entrance, just as some other department stores at the mall do (i.e. Boston Store, JC Penny’s).
I currently am employed part time by Victoria’s Secret in Regency Mall. Yesterday (Sunday) a few girlfriends and I had spent the day shopping around the mall seeing as I had the afternoon off of work. There is a carnival taking place in the mall parking lot so when the mall began to close at 6pm, we took our purchases out to my car (which was parked directly in front of HH Gregg) and decided to hop on a few carnival rides for old times sake. Keep in mind, we are all grown women (I am a married 30 year old) just having a few laughs after a long day of shopping and spending money.
After the carnival, we began to head to my car but decided to stop into HH Gregg since none of us had ever been there before. We honestly had no idea if it was a department store or electronics store or grocery store or what. So we walk into this store and right away there are 3 people standing at the desk about 50 feet in front of us. A tall, bald man in a nice button up shirt with a tie (I’m assuming some sort of manager), and a male and female employee. Other than that there was nobody else in the store that we could see. I also didn’t notice any type of entrance that led into the mall from the store. Right away the male and female employee asked how they could help us and we curiously asked «do you have an entrance to the mall?» (Don’t ask why but these are the things that women notice). Instead of answering the question they answered «the mall is closed.» Now, like I stated before, I work at a store in the mall so I knew the mall closed at 6pm on Sundays. I responded, «Oh, I know that. But do you have some type of entrance that leads into the mall?» We were literally just 4 curious girls asking an innocent, simple question to use information for future shopping trips. The male and female employees were very kind and began to answer, but in the middle of their explanation the manager walked toward us with intention, didn’t say a single word, scowled, and opened the doors behind us as if he was escorting us out. We were unsure of why he was so angry, but he never said a word, he just used his body language to tell us that he didn’t want us there AT ALL. And that’s exactly what he was doing, escorting us out of the store. I felt personally offended as I walked out. We even said «thank you» to the young male employee and he thanked us meekly as we walked out of the establishment. I think he felt embarrassed by the way his manager treated us.
So us women talked about it on the way out to my car, trying to understand what on Earth just happened. We were just stunned. We thought maybe they were closing since it happened to be about 6:57pm, but now I see their hours on Sundays are open until 8pm. We got in my car, confused as all getout. I mean, this manager guy treated us like we were 13 year old kids who only came in there to steal, and he NEVER EVEN SAID A WORD! I am still thoroughly confused why he hated us so much! The whole ordeal lasted maybe less than 60 seconds. The poor employees were nice to us and ready to help answer our questions. I would hate to work for that bald man who treats customers as enemies. All four of us grown women vowed to never go back in there after being treated that way.
I wonder if the situation would’ve been different if that man knew I had about $ 450 leftover to spend.
