Work dinner… we each ordered 2 tapas and had more than enough. The beef stew, seared scallops, almond meatballs, calamari, honey goat cheese… all delicious! Finished off with citrus flan. Highlight of my trip for sure

Had the most awesome beef stew yesterday at Olde Madrid. The flavors were delicious, it was loaded with goodies, and plenty enough to take home leftovers. Granddaughter had portobello sandwich, again amazingly good. We had the potato/zucchini pancakes for an appetizer, delish! Atmosphere was old world and lovely. Definitely going back and it is our fav new place. Prices are reasonable, portions large.

This is the most reasonably priced tapas restaurant I’ve ever visited. For a tapas place, the portions are huge! Service was great. Olde Madrid is definitely a hidden gem in Racine.

Incredible food plus incredible staff equals incredible restaurant… I have been here numerous times. As a Chef I also have been fortunate enough to take two large groups of Chefs to this establishment to dine while in town and have them always complimentary regarding the quality of the food and their experience at Olde Madrid. This is the type of restaurant where chefs go to dine when they are not at work. Need I say more? Trust me you owe this to yourself, they do an awesome job…

Absolutely amazing! First time in WI and a local told me to stop in, so glad I did! Best tapas and sangria. If I could have ordered everything on the menu I would have. I got their signature seafood gumbo(enough for 2 people) and a baked goat cheese appetizer. Out of this world! The prices are really good too and it’s a lot of food. Local is always the way to go and this place certainly knows what they are doing. Will definitely stop in when I travel back here!

We will give it a second chance sometimes a cook had an off day. The choices of tapas are numerous an diverse. The servings for tapas are more than generous, more so than any other tapas restaurant I have been to. Our choices for the evening were a crab seafood cold salad fish(very good, but was artificial crab). Second Dish was a pork dish(seasoning was wonderful, pork was so dry we couldn’t eat it) sent plate back and ordered the Cherie Chicken plate(once again the sauce and seasoning were wonderful but the chicken strips were dry) Does the kitchen cook all the meat ahead of time and let it slowly dry out as the day progresses just mixing it with the different sauces as a plate is ordered!!! I am not sure but my partner and I surmised this might be he issue. Might be worth a try, possibly we had a bad night. I will adjust my review after we visit again

By far the best beef stew I’ve eaten.(Maria’s Beef Stew) Nice atmosphere, located in downtown… just arrive at 6pm or after and you don’t have to feed the street meter. Beef stew could feed two, I wish I could have eaten more. It just wouldn’t fit. :)

My friend and I were walking my puppy downtown in Racine and we came across this place and seen the name and outside and thought that’d be pretty cool to eat there since it was different food than the usual. We decided to try the food tonight. When we first walked in the curtains threw me off a little because I wasn’t sure whether to wait behind them or enter. The hostess came up and took us to a nice table for us two. I loved the curtain idea when we walked in. It’s a different look to most restaurants around here. We entered and the waitress was so lovely! We told her it was our first time there and she took the time to break down the menu and make us feel at home! She didn’t rush us and she let us know it’ll be different than the usual restaurants but it’s well worth it. Boy was she right! The atmosphere made me feel like I was in another country. I ordered a glass of wine which was amazing! We tried the soup, empanadas, and mussels. Each was superb! The muscles had great flavor as well as the soup and empanadas! I loved the idea of the family theme. You order and everyone shares. This way we got to try smaller dishes but different items. Definitely will come back here again to try the other food they have to offer!

Wow. I think my dining experience yielded the result of the only time in my life that I stated, «I wish I lived in Racine.» The paella is fantastic and I highly recommend it(matador — chicken, shrimp, chorizo; or traditional). All other tapas are to taste and individual, so I defer to you and your palette. The staff was well versed with Gluten Free needs and made great recommendations. Bottom line — if you enjoy an culinary experience and and assortment of flavors, you can’t go wrong here !!

We were looking for a place last Saturday evening to meet friends from Milwaukee for dinner, other than the typical spots off of I-94. Perusing Unilocal,I came across Olde Madrid in Racine. With wildly different likes in cuisine, I thought the varied menu would appeal to all. Wow! Olde Madrid certainly delivered! The tapas plates were every bit as delicious as they sound in the descriptions, as was the sangria. The beef stew, hot chili shrimp, crab cakes and grilled vegetables were particular favorites. For tapas, the portions were enormous. We didn’t follow the guidance of our server and ordered more than recommended. No downside there… made for a delicious lunch the next day. Natalie, the Owner, was delightful and Sergio, our server, was personable and attentive. The restaurant is small and we got there on the early side. Shortly after our arrival, it was packed. A great culinary experience enhanced by a restauranteur who really cares about her patrons’ experience. Will ABSOLUTELY return.

Impressively good! Best place since I’ve been in Racine and there aren’t many good restaurants at all in this area. Loved the scallops over egg noodles, the mushroom sauce was amazing. The paellas were pretty good, we thought it could’ve used some spiciness. The avacado crab salad was good but the crab I’m pretty sure they used imitation crab which was a huge turn off. But everything else was good! Friendly and helpful staff. I wouldn’t mind going back again! Next time to try something different and to get that scallop noodle dish again.

Olde Madrid is not going to thrill you if you’re from a big, metropolitan city with half a dozen or more tapas places. You’re gonna yammer on about how tapas are dead, and blah blah blah. I’ve even heard Milwaukee people do it. Well, Racine used to have Kewpees, and Pinocchio’s and 6 shitty pizza places. And we have a Spanish-ish tapas place, now, amongst a bunch of other neato places downtown. And I hate to use it, but FORRACINE, these places are pretty damn good. I’ve had some inconsistencies at Olde Madrid over the years, and I avoid the paella entirely, but some of their menu items are great, and others are fantastic. The sangria is good, and free roasted red pepper hummus while you wait — who’s complaining? We like to get the avocado crab salad to put atop the crab cakes — like crabby little wonder twins! The spicy shrimp dish is insane. They do great things with scallops. The goat cheese&tomato is a creamy, zesty must. And what tapas place would be complete without cheese and fruit? Duh, none.

Small dishes, full of flavor. The best sangria! If you’re super hungry, grab some paella for the table. Great service. Very welcoming atmosphere, enjoy a long dinner here without feeling rushed.

The place is warmly decorated and had a few tables filled midweek. I decided on the chicken with cherries hot tapa and the Olde Madrid salad for lunch. The waiter was great– he recommended the salad and steered me to the chicken when I was ambivalent. He really knew the food and his descriptions were accurate. I loved both dishes and it would be hard to return and not order the same exact dishes. I loved the mix of olives, pine nuts, and cherries in the chicken dish. They were generous with the ingredients. Same for the salad– not lots of lettuce with a sprinkling of toppings. It was more the other way around. Toppings included apples too which added a great crunch. I recommend this place for a delicious meal.
