Had a delicious soup and sandwich for our first visit! You can even buy and take home containers of homemade soup to enjoy again later! Will be a new lunchtime favorite for us!!! Love the atmosphere! Staff were very friendly and helpful!

Ate here a couple weeks ago and have never been so impressed by a small business. The owner came to ask me and my girlfriend how the food was and we were almost speechless because wow it was just awesome. in the mood for soup or just a homemade panini this is the spot. Awesome!!!

After eating here five times and trying different menu items each time I can honestly say everything I’ve had has been excellent.

Great place for lunch. Food is amazing! This place never disappoints. I have been here 4 times now and always good. I had the Caprese Panini recently and it was fresh and delicious.

Great new little restaurant and even better it’s a few miles from where I live. Sandwiches were all good as I tried my kids meals as well. Soup is even better. Will be a regularly visited establishment.

Mocha Lisa, Skoops, and now Soup Shanty. Caledonia may be a suburb, but it’s definitely trending away from fast food suburbia. This place is cozy and quaint and serves up amazing food. I do have one complaint though, and that would be the hours. I live, but don’t work in Caledonia so the only time I can get it on Saturday afternoons! It’d be really cool to stroll over to get lunch on a Sunday and eat outside on the patio. Also, where else are you going to get vegan Mediterranean split pea soup in Caledonia? Certainly not Pick ‘n Save.

I’ve had about 4 different soups here and all were outstanding. Fresh food, homemade taste and friendly service. Sandwiches are great too!

Wow, careful Caledonia, you might be getting cool. Mocha Lisa café and now the Soup Shanty. Talk about super tasty and cozy. And accommodating. I despise ranch dressing and they were kind enough to give me oil and vinegar on the side for my veggie wrap instead. Sloshed the wrap down with some hot tomato soup and a coffee. Unique, individual coffee cups at a serve yourself station helps explain the ethos behind this place. Cute and different. Keep it up folks.

This small gem in a sea of body shops, car repair, and carpet stores, is delightful. My husband and I stopped in after a long morning of work, tired, hungry and they did not disappoint. I would highly recommend the Field Greens/Walnut/Kalamata Olive and Sundried Tomato Salad and the Parmesan Garlic Fries were to die for. We will be back to this local eatery a lot. Thank you for being there! (Would you consider a Friday night dinner, perhaps?)

Close to the best soup and sandwiches we have ever had! I have had clam chowder and the beer cheese soup. My wife loves the caprese panini. YUMYUM! The club sub and the Italian beef are out of this world! And, everything is homemade! Friendly staff. You can dine in, eat on the patio or carryout. They post all of the daily soups on Facebook. They are also open to suggestions as the seasons change which is quite unheard of in most restaurants.

This place is now open on Monday’s and was a great find. Excellent soups. I had the mushroom barley with chicken meatballs. It was perfectly seasoned.

We really enjoyed our lunch. We split a BLTT and had a barley mushroom soup & Video soup. We were served quickly. The out door patio was clean and perfect.

We stopped by after a week of being open no one had a clue how to run a restaurant and the food was ok and a bit pricey I found better food up the street at the farmers market I’m not sure I’ll give a second chance

My family and I went here after church. Didn’t want a big meal as it was still early. Some some good reviews on Unilocal and stopped in. It is a small quaint place and the food was quite good. I had a jalapeño popper grilled cheese sandwich and a cup of their chili. Both were really good. The chili has a good kick to it without being too spicy. The had about 5 – 6 soups today and a lot of sandwiches too choose from. People were nice and kept checking on us to make sure everything was good. They have an outside patio area with umbrellas. I wish I had purchased a to go bowl of the chili to take home. I will definitely be back. I wish they were closer to my work so I could go there more often on my own.

Quaint little place done right. Have stopped a few times now and every soup tried has been home made delicious. Tried the pulled pork sandwich special today and it too was very good. Small outdoor patio is a nice touch. Give them a try and support local small business.

This evening’s stop at The Soup Shanty was my fourth or fifth since it opened in late spring. I haven’t been disappointed once! Our haul this evening included a thick, delicious Beet & Apricot soup whose appearance on their Facebook page this afternoon(they update daily with their soup offerings) is what sent my beet-loving family scrambling to get there. In addition, we grabbed the Summer Strawberry Salad(a repeat order for us; each time, the thickly sliced berries and generous whole walnuts have been wonderful), a Quinoa & Mandarin salad(loved it!), the Italian Beef & Provolone Sub(fave of my 10-year-old) and the Club Sandwich(meaty, cheesy, excellent). Supporting local small businesses is important to us but I’d be lying if I said that was our primary reason for putting this place on our list of regular stops. Truth be told, the food is simply fresh, fabulous and priced just right.

Cute little place on the north side of town. It’s on the smaller end, but it’s a casual place to go out. They also have free wifi so it’d be great for grabbing a bite to eat and getting some work done. I had the half sandwich and soup for $ 7 and it was the right size and delicious.
