So glad to see another German restaurant open in this area after the Alpine House closed. Radcliff has such a large population of German-Americans that it is no surprise that another one would rise to fill the void. I’ve never met a schnitzel that I didn’t like, Jäger Schnitzel is my favorite… that’s «Hunter’s» Schnitzel for those who do not speak German. It’s pounded pork loin(hammered thin as possible) breaded and fried and topped with a rich brown black forest mushroom gravy. The schnitzel is good, but what took the prize was the german cucumber salad. Perfectly seasoned and marinated. The server was very attentive and the food was very fresh and good. I can’t wait to come back, it’s a haul from my home, but worth the trip when I want to escape from the gravitational pull of Louisville, Ky.

Delicious food and great place. Can’t beat it for German good. Cake is irresistible. Brought my kids here and they loved it too. Even my chef husband loves it and he is very picky on food. Will be coming over and over again.

Great authentic German food in a German atmosphere. I felt like I was in a Gasthaus outside Bad Hersfeld. Started with good German beer and cucumber salad and bread. Schnitzel portion was huge and sauce was great. My favorite is zigeuner schnitzel and it was delicious. Check out the authentic German sweets near the door. I will definitely be back the next time I’m at Fort Knox.

Love this place! Really good, fresh German food. Service is great. Seating is limited but good things come in small packages. Schnitzel is tender and flavorful. Cucumber salad is so good, I could eat it all by itself. I believe the lunch special is around $ 13. Before you balk at the price, it includes 2 pieces of schnitzel, 2sides, cucumber salad, fresh roll(big), drink and dessert. The mocha cake is sublime, not sickening sweet and the cake is light and airy but moist. They also have some German import grocery and deli items available for purchase.

We lived in Germany for three years, and have missed good German food. Pleasantly surprised when we found this gem, in Radcliff. Food was excellent, beer was excellent, service was excellent. We took home a piece of their mocha cake, and that too, was delicious! We will definitely be going back!

I had my parents visiting and my husband stopped by the day before and was told the Resturant would be opened the next night from 6 – 8 pm. We showed up at 6:15 and it was packed! We came back at 7:30 and they had saved a spot for us. Choices were to use the buffet(2 lg pieces of schnitzel and 3 sides and brotchen $ 12.95) or order off menu. Mom And dad shared a plate — chose home fries, cauliflower and brussel sports. I had mixed veggies, cauliflower and home fries. Took home my second piece of schnitzel for lunch! My husband got the buffet and they made him some«gypsy» gravy. Which was excellent!(Other German Resturants in the area Just add red/green peppers to the brown gravy, not here! It. Maybe why Caroline’s Alpine closed???). We were all pleased with our choices and the food was excellent! Owners were fantastic! It’s well worth the wait!

Very small and authentic looking inside. Menu doesn’t have many options, just lots of schnitzels. IMO is overpriced for what they serve. We’re out of things that I wanted. The dessert was decent.

This restaurant is not child friendly. 1 order of fries about 5 bucks. Prices range from 8 – 15 bucks. My wife and I tried to get a simple bratwurst fir our child in stead he said I have to pay fill price of the buffet. Not very fair at all a 10 year old child has to pay full price over 10 bucks for just wanting a ½ a bratwurst. We will never come back. They were hateful, rude, cocky, and did not care if they raised there voice and belittled us in front of military patrons. I guess with ft Knox soldiers coming and going they don’t care how they act. I guess This was the German sterotype attitude we all heard of. we will spread the word. This restaurant is not child friendly.

Ok, so went back for dinner!!! I am in love with this place!!! They have German beer aplenty on tap. The kase schnitzel is divine!!! Served with delicate spatzle and a requested side of red cabbage and sauerkraut. Again the bakery delivered a yummy well thought out Apple strudel! The conversation with the owner was priceless. He was educating guests and employees on the cuisine and culture. This man is an artist with both food and bakery goods. I do not think I have ever had a better culinary experience! I felt like I was at home with mom learning to appreciate good food again. The pride, dedication and resilience it takes to keep a restaurant with this high of standards in Ratliff is a daunting task. For real travel from afar and if you live here please support this business. This by far is the best restaurant in 50 miles.

Been at Fort Knox for six months, and I just found this hidden gem. The deli style lunch menu allows you to get your food quickly, and be sure to grab one of their amazing deserts! Excellent food, great service, and a fun little environment — definitely one of the best places to eat in the Radcliff area.

I go to this place when I’m at Fort Knox A LOT! Once you go there once and get used to how to order, it is simple. The desserts are the best part of this quaint little piece of sunshine for lunch! They also treat military very well.
