Lin House

It’s no Peking in Wytheville, Va, but this place is great. Fast delivery, decent prices.
Most people talk crap about this place, but I have never had a problem with it. It’s chinese in a strip mall, what do you expect? For what it is, it is fantastic.
Crab Rangoon and General Tso is awesome here.

The food is good but not a fan of their rice. General Tso all the way! People NEVER seem happy there. Must be a terrible place to work.

I don’t know if it was the 4 hour drive that made me ravenous and the food here taste amazing, but it did. Got some Lo Mein and the Dragon &??? dinner. Both were good & delicious.
Neither the spring rolls nor the egg rolls came with meat. I like meat. :(
Now, my only knock was how the place appears. There was a table (one of like 5 in the place, it’s mainly delivery and take out) that was piled high with what seemed like garbage. I mean like 24″ piled high. The was a little girl seated there when I first came in. Appeared to be about age 3. There were a couple toys on that table, but also empty toy boxes and (what I can only assume) empty orange juice boxes. Odd. I ordered and went outside, back to my son & wife in the car to wait. Came back in after about 20 minutes and waited a couple more. During that time the little girl came out from behind the counter holding like 100 of those wax paper bags they put egg rolls or spring rolls in. Despite the place being packed, she proceeded to sit in the middle of the floor and start spreading out the wax paper bags all over the floor. I’m not judging anything here, but I’m docking them a point because the place was dirty and 20% of the tables were occupied by just toys and trash.

This is the worst service ever! I just wanted plain tofu and plain, white rice, that was too hard for them to make!!! And it took forever, got home I realized they added veggies to it. I wanted something really plain and on top of that they charged me at least $ 1 for a cheap-​ass bottled water from Food Lion, literately next door to them. Cheap ass bottle also doesn’t screw back on very well and got all over my stuff.

It is ok nothing really to write home about but it is a quick fast lunch for when I am working up there.

I forgot to mention; yes the food is amazing for it being in Radford. But do not ever get it delivered. I had it delivered and it was 30 minutes past the projected time of delivery. I told them I wanted the food but discounted, or with a credit to my name or something. I told them I didn’t want to pay full price, so when the driver finally came to my door they refunded my money and they told me to send the driver back with the food. So I kept my money but didn’t get my food. I was extremely disappointed, I am a huge fan and their lack of customer service is a huge negative in my books. They do not know how to handle situations like these appropriately.
I still recommend them, but beware, your food might be very late and you won’t be compensated for it.

After 7 hours on the road, we checked in a hotel and ordered from Lin’s House. After about 45 minutes of waiting for the delivery, we were disappointed to discover that the order was screwed up: We were given shrimp egg foo young (probably not cleaned; didn’t check, didn’t want to know) instead of roast pork egg foo young and the chicken egg foo had no chicken that I could see or taste.
My friend called and complained. We were on hold for awhile. Eventually, the girl apologized and asked if we wanted a freebie when we came back (we told her we’d be leaving the area tomorrow morning) or if we would be willing to wait for a replacement order, but she said it would probably take more than 30 minutes. She asked if we would be ok just accepting the order. At this point, we were starving and tired. We agreed to accept.
To top it off, when my friend was eating, she found a long, black hair in her food.
All in all, not a great experience. Wouldn’t recommend!

Descent Chinese food for Radford. Could be better, however, their general tso’s chicken is superb

As far as Chinese goes in Radford, this is the best choice. The food is great, and they do deliver but it can take up to an hour to get your food.

I’m a Radford college student an I live with multiple roommates and we LOVE Lin’s! They’re always prompt with their delivery, the food is amazing and they’re not stingy with the portions. I recommend the Cheese Wontons (aka crab rangoon). I always get them and they’re good even reheated.

I have decided to adjust my past review of Lin House because of a couple disappointing experiences we had there. My wife and I are (mostly) vegetarian. At least I am. She’s veg all the way. We order specifically vegetarian menu items from Lin House but on a couple occasions we’ve found pieces of beef in our orders. While I understand that they use the same cooking surface for all orders it just seems to me that if a person orders a «vegetarian» meal it should be prepared in a way that would not leave the consumer wondering.
Don’t get me wrong. The food here is great, delivery is on time, and prices are more than fair. I was just a little disappointed in the lack of attention put into the specific order. Overall though I still think they deserve 4 stars.
