At first, this place is a little scary. It is the epitome of a hole-in-the wall. The interior is very cheap looking, with basically no décor and pizza boxes stacked high right out in the dining room. It’s dusty and there are spider webs all over. After you order, the server hands you plain ol’ store-bought paper plates. For real. … but … I just moved here from Detroit; so, I have been systematically trying all the pizza places in town, trying to find a decent place to order from. So far, I like Sal’s the best, but Pizza House is okay, too. The first time I went there, Pizza House had thin, crispy pizza that was actually crispy. The cheese was perfectly browned in spots and the sauce is nicely seasoned. It was a good pie … especially considering how cheap it was(I think we paid $ 8 for a large). I just wish they delivered. EDIT: I changed my rating from 4-Stars to 3-Stars, because the last time I went there, the pizza had a weird flavor — like something was burning right next to it(like grease or maybe rubber. It was not good).

I think that in any other town, this place would earn a solid«3». In Radford, it earns a 4 — on par with Sal’s, beyond Highlander, and different from the other major chains in the area. We walked in and no one greeted us. There were no signs telling us «wait to be seated», or «please seat yourself», or even, «order here». We cautiously walked up to the counter where a young girl stood, quietly talking on a phone. As we approached, she barked, «You have a call-in order?» We decided on a plain cheese pizza and two sodas from the cooler – no ice, no cups, no fancy refills in this place, thank-you-very-much. As we waited for our pizza(in a tiny wooden booth that was not attached to the wall, but instead sat near the wall), we observed the strange woodshop-esque power tool storage shed in the back, surrounded by hundreds of empty pizza boxes. We counted the spider webs on the light fixtures. We discussed the architectural stability of the building. And finally, finally, our pizza arrived, with nary a spatula or fork to serve it with. Despite the fact that we were required to sacrifice a layer of skin to pick up our first slices, the pizza was very good. The crust was not too thick and bready, but not so thin as to resemble a saltine cracker. The cheese was melty and stretchy, and maintained that consistency for most of our meal. The sauce was tangy and not too sweet, and tasted like it probably came from a can, but it was still good. Also(and this may be weird), my boyfriend and I appreciated how the slices were cut thinly, so that the pizza was made up of lots of smaller slices, instead of being made of 6 enormous slices. If Pizza House delivered, they would be our new favorite pizza place in Radford. Since they don’t, I’ll just say this: I’d rather make the 10-minute round trip to pick up a pizza from this location, than order from some of the other joints in town.

Pizza House came under new ownership in late 12⁄14. Since then, their pizza and service has been incredible. They have added a couple of bottled beers to the menu and at an affordable price(just like the pizza). They also have noticeably put a lot of work into the aesthetics of the interior so it’s nice to sit inside, watch a game, drink beer and eat pizza!

I’ve done substantial traveling and have literally eaten at every single pizza place in the entire world. Of all of these pizza places I have found none better than Pizza House. When I’m having trouble getting my little fella to stand at attention I simply think about their pizza and get a chubby.

Love love love this place! I had Pizza House for the first time a few years ago and remember it being okay. Fast forward a few years and I tried it again. It surprised me how good it was! They’re under new owners now so you don’t have to pay with cash anymore, you can buy drinks there without having to buy them out of the vending machine, and my kids love the live music.

I may be partial since I grew up on Pizza House, but it is the best pizza in the world by far. The staff are the same sweet faces for the past several years, and we drive to Radford from Christiansburg just to eat there. We love you, Pizza House!

I grew up in Radford and pizza house was«THE» place everyone got their pizza craving fixed. I went there for the first time in 15ish years, new owners, horrible selection, crappy service and food was awful. It was a frozen pizza from the market next door and the staff was so rude. I will definitely travel further for my pizza next time in Radford!!!

Literally mind-blowingly bad. Ground beef cooked days ago with warmed-over flavor, very poor quality ingredients, nasty soggy crust. I can’t believe anybody likes this stuff.

Coming from the pizza capitol of the US, I can state without reservation that what they serve is almost(but not quite) entirely unlike pizza.

Literally the worst pizza I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I don’t really understand how they’re in business and other places go out of business. Really confused. I can’t get over the really bad pizza. They have no plates. Only a vending machine for drinks. The staff aren’t friendly. NOne of that would matter if they had good food. They don’t have good food.

I wouldn’t say this pizza is good because it’s not. I wouldn’t even say that it’s decent pizza because I’d feel as though I were selling my foodie soul to the lowest bidder I could find. Yet, four stars? Pizza House pizza is the best crap pizza I’ve ever had. It’s the kind of pizza you order because it’s extremely cheap, enjoy with some friends(have friends supply the beer, which will cost more than a couple of pizzas), and regret later in the form of heartburn. The crust is thin, like the sauce. The cheese is pale and flavorless. The dough could double has hardtack. But somehow, it comes together to be the best bad pizza you’ll ever have.

My husband I love this place! The pizza has a homemade taste which makes up for all their negatives. Negatives: the staff could care less. They aren’t friendly at all. They don’t offer plates(yes, you read correctly, you have to bring your own plates or eat on a napkin), they have no fountain drinks(either bring your own or buy from the vending machine), they ONLY take cash and are closed on Mondays. Beside that, the pizza makes up for it. It’s incredible, always hot, and amazingly cheap! Completely worth the price 100 times over :) Just make sure to bring a paper plate and a drink!
