If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, DON’T go here! The food is made for other audiences. Plus is a little pricey. I’ve tried it many years ago and I have returned two more times since throught out the years hoping it gets better, because it’s so convenient from my house, but no luck… I’m done with it.

We love coming to Beanas. Its great food, friendly wait staff, and super kid friendly. We don’t eat out much because we have a 2 year old but they are a great place to bring the family. They have a kids table with toys and crayons and we can enjoy our BYOB…

Wow… And I don’t mean that in a good way. The blizzard of 2016 was a sad one indeed. I literally ordered chicken tacos they were bland, extremely soggy and flavorless. The salsa tasted like Tostitos salsa mixed with marinara sauce. The guacamole was in dire need of lime juice salt and some more tomatoes. This was the saddest excuse for Mexican food… EVER. This is the second time I’ve had their food and it was just as bad the first time. I’m literally giving one star because I have to. If I could get my 20 bucks back I would… I seriously considered disputing the charge because I took a few bites and threw it away. Whoever says it’s the best has clearly never experienced flavor in their entire life.

I don’t understand all the other reviews!!! I’ve been here twice and the food has been amazing! The ambience is fun and the prices are reasonable. I’d recommend the chicken enchiladas, chicken chimichangas, and absolutely the fried plantains.

dios mio, is beanas one awesome, authentic mexican, gastronomical experience!!! you’ll be transported right to the corazon of mexico with beautiful décor, musica autentica, lighting, genuine artifacts, and overall beautiful ambience!!! Now to the service!!! BRENDA la co-ownadora of beanas es estupenda. tan pleasant w an attitude that everything and anything you want can be done!!! she is there to serve!!! ahora, the best mexican food anywhere !!! salsa y guacomale frezquisimas y real tomatos and avocado made fresh onsite! las gambas con cilantro were greatly enjoyed by our family guests nena, jiovedi, and jason. i loved my first ever mexican gyro platter. puts chipotle and their ecoli to shame!!! my wife had delicious enchiladas and my son whose 12 year old birthday we were celebrating, loved the tacos, and was the beneficiary of the 2 employees turning out the lights in the restaurant to sing happy birthday louder than most 6 waiter entourages can produce– and with sparkling candles!!! In summary, Beanas really«wowed» us and we recommend highly this underpublicized gem straight out of mexico!!!

It has been around for decades, and is often crowded, which shows it has a large following. Very good for kids. BYO and inexpensive, with a nice staff. Decorations are large numbers of Mexican knick knacks, but food is not interesting

Hands down best Mexican food around! Never a disappointment, always friendly, always packed! If they aren’t jam packed when you get there, they will be by the time you leave. Try the burritos, tamales, enchiladas, desserts, bean dip, anything! It is always sooooo fresh and so delicious. It’s BYOB and has a great atmosphere. You cannot get better than Beanas!

Yum. Great tequila sunrise chicken, awesome sauces. No liquor license but bring your own. After your meal you can sit all night and never be asked to make room for the next group. Super eclectic atmosphere leaves plenty to look at. Good service. Summer? Plan on waiting. Take out is also not a disappointment. Like I said. Yum. I’d like to tell you my favorite take out but I have a hard time picking and it’s ALWAYSDIFFERENT

Great food, great service and great coffee! What I love most about this restaurant is the atmosphere. They have a ton of kitschy Mexican and Americana trinkets on the walls. It reminds me of South of the Border in South Carolina. Now they have a television screen with tons of cute and cool photographs. Every time the cat in a blanket with the word«Purr-rito!» flashed on the screen, I started cracking up. Too cute! The only thing I’d change is to note on the menu is that cheese is used when you order beans. I’m not a fan of conventional cheeses that restaurants use and prefer plain black beans without cheese. It would also be cool if you had a choice of sides rather than the standard rice and beans. A side of guacamole would be preferred. Also, to be more progressive, may I kindly suggest gluten free wraps? Best of luck to an awesome place!

Wasn’t the best Mexican place but wansnt the worst. 1 thing though. Why isn’t there queso fresco or crème on the tostada? If it had that would of been perfect. The tamales were good. Sadly my rice was hard and my beans weren’t that cooked. Also I’d say it’s a tad over priced. Other then that the service was good and the atmosphere was nice. I’d come back but Def try something else.

We decided to try this place despite low Unilocal ratings because we pass it often and it looked interesting. The end result was a very disappointing meal. I would not feed this food to my dog. The only good thing we ate decent was the sweet plantains. The salsa was a glorified marinara. The guac was essentially a mashed avocado with a few tomatoes on top. The fajita was a large bowl of peppers and onions with some pepper steak mixed in and came out cold. It was far overpriced. We also tried the mixed appetizer taste of Mexico platter. Essentially we got some frozen jalapeño poppers that must have come out of a box. The pico de gallo was some chopped up onions with a few tomatoes thrown in. The chorizo was more or less dog food. We will definitely not be back and I would never recommend this place to anyone. If you want decent Mexican food try Señorita’s in Clarke or Mojave Grill in Westfield.

Have been a customer of Beana’s since they opened their doors soooooo many years ago. When we started coming, our(now) 24-year-old son was little more than a toddler. Beana’s play area meant that my wife and I could have a rare meal out where we ate together while we watched our son entertain himself with puzzles and coloring books. Now, our boy is a young man and we still go to Beana’s. In the 20-some years, I have only sent back one meal. I found their chili to be greasy. That aside, Beana’s food is always consistent. Their refried beans are wonderful. The taste can’t be found in something in a can on a supermarket shelf. I always ask that they serve them ‘naked,’ without cheese or salsa on them as they taste great all by themselves. Also recommend the fajitas dinner, which is too much for one person to polish off. Tacos, hard OR soft shell are another delight. If you are a vegetarian, you can ask for black bean filling instead of beef or chicken. Although I am a dedicated carnivore, I have frequently opted for black bean tacos. Yes, the drinks are in red Solo cups. Who cares? The birch beer is just as sweet as in glass. I wouldn’t turn away a frozen mug, though. Big props to Gina and the gang for providing happy dining for many years.

Unilocalers, if you think a business doesn’t take your review seriously then you are sadly mistaken. The management of Beanas reached out to us after we wrote our last review, apologized and asked us to give them another try. That opportunity presented itself in the way of take out. I feel this update is fair and earned because obviously they could not have possibly known who we were or if/when we’d come back. The husband called in an order of two entrees for dinner. When we went to pick up we realized that Beanas must have taken my review seriously because things have changed. When I first walked inside I noticed immediately how much cleaner everything was compared to the last time we were there. Sure, the décor was the same and the fun games were on the tables but they looked better maintained(wiped down and dusted!). Even the glasses on the tables sparkled like a Cascade commercial. We were greeted right away and came home with the food. First out of the bag, nachos and salsa, real salsa we might add not that Ragu stuff from last time. The salsa no longer tasted like tomato sauce! The chips were good too, a big improvement. The food was much better then last time too. Less greasy and heavy. Taquitos Dinner $ 14.95 perfectly done. Homemade Empanada Entrée $ 13.95, we had a veggie, buffalo chicken, plain chicken empanada. All were very good. All in all we were impressed with the improvement of Beanas. We are happy they made the improvements we suggested earlier, and would be happy to recommend and return to Beanas in the future.

After seeing the poor average Unilocal rating, I was a little hesitant to try this place. However, I was at a loss for vegetarian options in the area and kind of wanted Mexican food so… #yolo. I’m glad my friend and I decided to try this place for a Saturday lunch! The vibe is extremely relaxed, and the décor is eclectic and kitschy. When we walked in, we were the only people, and the hostess/waitress was sitting at a table. I like that Beana’s is BYOB, and I wish that we had brought some drinks but alas. My friend ordered the veggie tostada, and I got the veggie tacos. These come with your choice of beans and rice. Chips and salsa are complimentary too. While we waited for our food to arrive, we played«war» with the deck of cards beside our table — that was a fun way to pass the time. The theme of our meal was«underseasoned.» Everything was fresh and clearly homemade, but the food — from the chips to the filling in the tacos — was bland. Thank goodness for hot sauce, which helped a lot. The veggie mix in the tacos was strange — zucchini, carrots, etc. — but I got past that. The best part is that you’ll get a lot of food for your money. Throughout, our waitress was attentive and accomodating. I would come back with drinks, mostly for the atmosphere, which is fun and funky.

I am very sad to say that I hope a Mexican person does not own this place. My husband and I, thought this was going to be an authentic Mexican restaurant and we were so excited! Sadly the refried beans are from a can or bag, guacamole same thing they use in Subway, out of a bag, the rice was not Mexican rice, just a bland make of rice, chips not homemade, salsa not homemade, the chicken in the enchiladas was dry little cubes and had a little red sauce around it though the sauce was Verde(green) on the outside(contradicting tastes), and the pork in the chimichanga was not your typical flavored pulled pork. It was boiled with hardly any flavor. We enjoyed the posole soup and our mandarin jarritos. And of course the service was nice and loved the inside deco. Funny thing my husband noticed that they used, we think the Italian flag to make a resemblance to the Mexican flag. It was missing the usual emblam. Sadly can’t come back here ever again.

The only thing I had when I came here was pumpkin pie on a tortilla; I gotta watch my girlish figah ya know. It was… eccentric. I think my favorite part about this place is the fact that it is filled with so much character. So much. There are games for you on the tables to play that’ll make you hate yourself. Pictures on every inch of the walls and tons of other Spanish items are strewn about left, right, up and down. The complimentary chips were bangin’ and the salsa had to be homemade. I would come back just for the chips probably. My friend got this massive burrito with black beans and rice. He really liked his meal, but wished the burrito had a bit more flavor. Which is why I must give you a cuatro. I mean tres.

Large space and interesting décor. There’s an Italian flag hanging in a Mexican restaurant? Strange by my standards. Close tables and plenty to look at, they even have mini games to play on the tables. Service was great. We walked in and were the only table seated at 8pm on a tuesday, good/bad sign?! Our waiter was always checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed which was a plus. All drinks are served in red solo cups and the place is byob. Onto the food. Our apps included guacamole and a chicken quesadilla. Te guacamole seemed out of a bag and not fresh. It lacked the regular peppers and salt which I am accustom to having in traditional guac. The quesadilla was really good. Chicken had a nice kick and loads of flavor. Our group of 4 ordered 3 different types of burritos, none that really caught our attention. The beef burrito was dry, the BBQ chicken just Didn’t taste right and the two regular chicken burritos lacked flavor. They would’ve been better off using the same chicken as the quesadilla in their burritos. All in all, not traditional and lacked flavor overall. Would not return.
