5 Stars for posterity! Buffalo’s was one of my favorite restaurants in these parts. They served some of the hottest wings I’ve had in NC. They even had a «not on the menu» Loco Sauce — totally insane heat. Mmmm. Their sauces/dressings were out of this world too. Ranch & Bleu Cheese which tasted fresh/in house(it must have been). Fresh kettle chips, perfectly breaded fish & chicken tenders. Don’t get me started on their perfectly balanced Queso… I used to order from here so frequently that their staff knew me as the lady who wanted Death Valley sauce on everything. :) Farewell, Buffalo’s…

Closed. One wonders with they did with all of the 1 dollar bills in from the bar wall.

This is a pretty average restaurant. I used to go here a lot growing up when I lived nearby. It still isn’t too far from me, so my husband and I still go here occasionally. I have never had to wait here and the service has always been fast and attentive. I noticed on our most recent visit that their menu has shrunk and they no longer have what used to be my favorite thing here, the country fried steak platter. They still have a decent variety of menu options, so it shouldn’t be hard for even a picky eater to find something that they like. The menu itself has a mix of wraps, burgers, wings, fried shrimp, salads, grilled entrees, etc. The prices on beer are very reasonable. On my most recent visit, I ordered one of the burgers(topped with queso, salsa, fried onion strings) that was pretty average. The curly fries that came with it were good though. My husband got the wings(hot), which he said were good, though not as hot as he expected. I have heard their hottest wings, death valley, are very hot. The prices aren’t too high and it’s a good spot that you can get in and out of quickly when in North Raleigh.

LOVE their wings!!! The secret is to get them extra crispy! Don’t forget the curly fries and veggie sticks! I love that they make in house blue cheese dressing and ranch dressing. The rest of the menu is okay … just stick with the wings!

Some of the Better Buffalo style wings I’ve had in a long long time. We had to use our (similar to Groupon/Livingsocial) coupon so we decided on a quick stop to grab some take out. A couple orders of hot buffalo wings later, we were on our way. The Death Valley wings were very hot, and I just couldn’t stop eating them — dipping in Bleu Cheese and gnawing away… I mean I was eating like an addict getting a fix and before I knew it, the whole order was gone. Either I was really hungry, or those wings were really good!

Went here for lunch today and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Looks cute on the outside and is surprisingly charming for a strip mall joint(what else is there in North Raleigh…). BUT. When we walked in for lunch it was busy, and we didn’t have to wait for a table but a minute or less. Our waitress was surly and not very attentive. I ordered the shrimp /fries lunch basket with the Carolina BBQ sauce. The shrimp was actually pretty good except that there were only 5… seems a little stingy for $ 7. Fries were good but nothing to write home about. My lunch mate ordered chicken fingers and wings with some spicy sauce he said was good, I thought the chicken fingers were bland and dry but he liked them. So food was good, but not super special. When we were done we waited about 10 minutes for someone to come by and clear the table /ask if we were done /wanted the check. Then it took another 15 minutes for them to come get the card, and THEN it was the wrong check when they brought it back — had run the card for the table behind ours. So. I’m not super picky or grouchy ordinarily with service, and maybe it was a bad day, but this place could definitely use something more. Seemed like a bunch of high school kids working who’d rather not be there and let it show. I won’t go back, but it could be worth trying their wings if you’re a big wing fan.

We stopped by Buffalo’s for a dinner the other night. We were seated quickly and the service was great. We had nachos and«sizzling grill» entrée. The nachos really were great. I would go back for those. The grill entrée was blah at best. Not impressed. We would go back for beers and nachos but not for much else.

I avoided Buffalo’s for a long time. It’s in a strip mall with the entrance in a weird hallway thing. It just looked like the kind of suburban place I didn’t want to give it a chance. Man was I wrong. The menu is typical tex-mex stuff, but everything is really good. The staff is always pretty good, and seem to enjoy working there. I love the wings, and the sauces get pretty hot. I wish they had a better beer selection, but I’ll survive.

I saw Buffalo’s Southwest Café while en route to pick up Outback Steakhouse curbside one evening. I decided to give it a try late one night recently. The menu is rather lacking, having basically only wings, wraps, burgers and salads. My wrap was okay but the amount of salsa to go with my tri-colored chips was paltry. And granted I went late at night but the server was nearly absent — c’mon, bring me some more sweet tea already! They apparently have trivia night which is probably fun, but I don’t know that I’ll go back here or that I’d take anyone here. It would do in a pinch.

THEBESTWINGSEVER! scorching with lemon peper mixed! only once have i deviated and orderd a chicken wrap. Their service is great, we always take our big dog there and the servers almost always bring out a bowl with water. They once messed up my takeout order and the manager kept a refund in her office for like a month!

Buffalo Southwest Café provided the worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Some friends were dining there, so I checked out the website. It’s snazzy and hip, and I had high hopes. The pictures of the food looked yummy. Sadly, the experience is nothing like the website. Our waiter was absolutely apathetic. I guess he knew he was getting the mandatory 18% for groups, and he certainly did nothing to earn anything. We were with a group, but there were only three at our table, as they had to split us up. We were split among three tables… someone said they didn’t have enough tables to put together to accommodate a group of our size. Being at a southwestern establishment, I asked about the margaritas. You have one choice: frozen or on the rocks. No size or quality choices. My OTR margarita came in a beer glass, and for some reason had a foamy head on it. I don’t really want to know why. I still wasn’t convinced the drink wasn’t a malt liquor margarita-ish beverage. Avoid. By the time we ordered, we were already feeling a bit cautious. Two of the three at our table split their appetizer sampler. And the third had a burger. When we ordered, the waiter advised that they were out of chips! How can a southwestern restaurant be out of chips? Isn’t that one of the staples? It was only 6:30 on a Saturday, what were they planning to do the rest of the night? If they couldn’t make some, they should have sent someone to Costco, Sam’s, BJ’s, or even Food Lion – to get some Tostitos! The food eventually came, and we wish we’d followed our first instinct and left before ordering.(There was a 5 Guys down the street, and it would have been so much better.) The queso dip(minus chips) was edible, but nothing special. It, along with the wings and the chicken fingers reminded me of the TGIFriday’s appetizers you can buy in the frozen foods section of the grocery store. Our friend’s burger got much the same review. And when we talked with folks from the main table, they agreed that everything they had ordered had been marginal at best, mostly with that take it out of the freezer and microwave it feel. If you’re looking for wings and other southwestern fare, you’ll do much better at some place like the Armadillo Grill on Glenwood South. If you want a good burger, 5 Guys. And I’m betting the steaks at Buffalo Southwest aren’t any better – and there’s an Outback less than 50 feet away. If you’re looking for mediocre food, apathetic service, and a grungy looking environment, I’d heartily recommend Buffalo Southwest.

eh… I am feeling like I may be past the wing stage of my life. not much meat, dirty hands, that awkward moment when you are trying to dip a short object into a ramican(sp?) of ranch or bleu cheese and you can never quite get the correct angle. All that aside, this place was ok. I still can’t get over the fact that you can smoke in restaurants here. If smoke bothers you, dont go here. It is very small and if someone near you is smoking they might as well be blowing you a shotgun. Happy Eating!
