Unprofessional service. I was waiting in line for a seat when somebody walked right in to take the seat that the waitress was gonna give me. Waitress says«he sat before I could do anything — looks like it just got taken.» Seriously?!

I stopped in while on a layover, and the sample omelet presentation is what intrigued me. The food was so good. I got a mushroom, onion, spinach and goat cheese omelet that came with a side of potatoes. Everything was seasoned to perfection. I didn’t even need ketchup, but of course I did. What’s potatoes without ketchup? :) Superb customer service and reasonably priced. Stop in, you won’t be disappointed.

It is an airport restaurant; therefore, the price is overpriced. However the quality is good. The menu is limited, yet has variety. There is a nice selection of wine and a few draft beers. I was lucky as the airport was quiet/slow; quickly seated and served. I would stop by here again when traveling out of terminal 2 D gate.

Four of us stopped in on a July Thursday afternoon before our flight. They were pretty full, but managed to find us a spot in the corner. At first we weren’t sure the four of us AND our luggage could squeeze in, but we managed.(where there’s wine will, there’s a way!) Guys each had a brew, while we two gals had different chardonnays. Both of us enjoyed our selections. Wanting something to nibble on, we shared the Sweet Potato Fries with Parmesan, Herbs and two dips: spicy jalapeño ketchup and Smoky BBQ sauce aioli. For $ 7, this was a great choice to go with our drinks. And there was more in the cone that arrived than appeared at first. Tasty! Drinks were quite expensive though, even by airport standards. Saved us all calories, though, as we would have had a second round had they not been that high. Also, I read other reviews that mentioned the giant pours and I did not experience that. All the food we saw around us looked terrific! So a great place to stop in, but would be pretty pricey to hang out for awhile!

Set an alarm, then relax. You can forget you are even at an airport, and enjoy the wine and tasty treats here. I stop here every time I am leaving RDU because it never disappoints. They are accommodating and friendly. The green tomato appetizer has this nice blend of chilled tomato with warm, almost meaty goat cheese. You can get them as an entrée, but upon request they have made me an appetizer portion of their crab cake. I found a bottle of «fish hippie» wine here on my way to a burning man event called Frostburn that had an underwater theme. It’s not just this synchronicity, I always enjoy my time here. I’ve even run into students here, and enjoyed passing our time here. It puts travel stress away just don’t get swept away in the wine and good food and forget your flight!

My cousins and I were stuck at the airport waiting for our flight. We decided to come here to kill some time and try the local wines. We decided we were in the mood for white wines, so we got a sauvignon blanc and a pinot grigio. Both were tasty. I preferred the pinot because it was cleaner and crisp as opposed to the dryness of the sauvignon. We also ordered the triple sliders to munch on. They were a regular beef, pulled pork with fried onion rings, and fried crabcakes. They were all tasty for airport food. The beef had a bit too much cheese on it so it was sort of overwelming. The crabcakes were good although it was more greasy than I would have liked it to be, probably bc it was deep fried or something. The pull porked was quite flavorly so I think that one was my favorite. Only downside is that the service is bad. Only 1 waitress for the whole restaurant so it was some what slow. But she did her best.

If you are stuck in terminal 2 @ RDU — give this place a try! Local taps & local wine! The fried green tomatoes are great! And the bits of county ham on the side are worth the whole thing! Friendly service! Stayed open late for us! And took airline vouchers! Will be back!

The ambiance has changed. The last time I made my way trough RDU I flew out on Delta just so I could visit Carolina vintages again. I’ve been to RDU several times and ended up in the southwest terminal. Anyway, there was a young woman working behind the bar and she was loud and very aggressive. The man who I am used to working the bar was either off or has moved on. He was there for years and is a great bar tender and has a lovely demeanor. The girl was sloppy with pouring wine and even spilled some whole over pouring a glass. The manager was at the center table counting money from the drawer(safe) and the service was slow. I hope things change.

The best airport meal I’ve had yet. The service was good and prompt, and the waitress really knew the ins and outs of the menu. I got their flatiron steak, which came with two sides, and opted for the fresh fruit and roasted asparagus. The presentation and cut of the meat could have easily been something from a more fancy restaurant. At least definitely not something I expected an airport restaurant to offer. My steak, cooked medium rare, was extremely tender and juicy, and packed enough flavor to not warrant any additional seasoning(which is how nice steak should be). The steak was laid atop a bed of wine-reduced mushrooms, adding an extra layer of depth. The fresh fruit was exactly something you’d expect, and combined with the roasted asparagus, added a lighter touch to everything. Oh, and all of this can be had for $ 19? Damn right you’ll be seeing me here more often in the future.

Absolutely worth getting to the airport early to have this meal. This for the sweet potato fries alone. Thank you for the pleasant stop and the great service.

Just ate my wilted rotting salad — because I had meetings all day at Duke and didn’t get a chance for a real meal all day and my flight is leaving in 10 min. I can’t have another bag of cashews for dinner. I ordered the Cobb salad with steak. I don’t know why it is so difficult for a restaurant to look through the field greens before plopping it on my plate. I received a plate of field greens with a quartered hat boiled egg, fatty steak, blue cheese and bacon-bits(not real bacon). Right on top were two large pieces of black lettuce not fit for eating. I told the kitchen person — I can’t eat this… The waitress came out and asked if I wanted something else. I said no — just better lettuce. She brought me a new plate of the salad. I was so starving by then and that much closer to my flight boarding that I covered it with dressing. But as soon as I started lifting the first couple layers of the lettuce, the gross black slimy lettuce is underneath. I just pulled them out one by one and made a small pile. The waitress came out and asked if everything was okay. I pointed at the small pile of rotting lettuce in the table. No one came to apologize… I left as quickly as I could after paying… and tipping the waitress… as I thought they must be laughing at me. How can a restaurant have so little respect for the customer? People like me travel all the time and every once in awhile get really sick eating from a place like this. My bill was $ 26.75 for the gross salad, a coke and tip. Would they eat this?

Stopped in here a few weeks ago waiting on my flight back to California. After walking around the airport trying to find a nice spot to grab some apps/drinks and unwind, this place looked great! After being seated I browsed the lengthy wine menu and ended up selecting some champagne. I easily got lost in the relaxing atmosphere and forgot that I was even in an airport. The server was incredibly sweet and attentive and recommended I get the Fried green tomatoes. They were delicious!!! WOW.

Since I am a frequent flier to the RDU area, I’m pretty much at Vintage Carolina once a week. Their wine is a tad pricey, but they always give you a huge pour(I’m talking 7−9oz) and its comparable to any other airport restaurant. I love their crab cake sandwich, and the cheese plate is also delicious with 3 different cheeses — including a pimento. I docked a star because they’ve been out of my favorite sauvignon blanc on occasion, and their other sauv blanc option($ 2 more) was just not very good. Overall a great spot to stop if you find yourself hungry and thirsty at RDU.

Great«out-of-the-way» place, but in a central location in the Airport. It helps that the food is really good. It is across from Gate D3. A lot of people miss out on this place because their flights leave from the C gates(Delta, American). Don’t make that mistake. It is very close to the C1 gate where almost all the Delta Atlanta flights go out of. The food is fresh prepared, they have wines from the NC area for you to try or to buy. There is also a bar with the usual mixed drinks, wines, and beer selections. I enjoy the chicken sandwich, it is marinated and grilled. The sweet potato fries with it are a pretty good combination. Pork sliders are really good and the other items are pretty decent for airport food. Like everything else in an airport, it is much higher than what you would pay offsite. If you have a delayed flight you can sit at the bar and usually watch either the news or a game on the flat screens, which are not so far away from you that you can’t tell what is going on. One of the best things about this place is the staff. They are really nice and try to stay on top of things.

Great option in the Raleigh-Durham airport. I at first was regretting my decision when I saw that prices for a glass of wine started at like $ 9.63 but, I went with the Pinot Noir anyway. The waitress brought over a huge wine glass nearly filled to the brim = 2 glasses of red if you ask me. The wine itself wasn’t my favorite by any means but definitely enjoyable. The place was clean, a few flat screen tvs and I enjoyed the free internet that RDU provides. Didn’t try the food but, looked solid with sandwiches and salads starting at $ 12. Not too shabby if you ask me.

If you want to pay an extra buck or two for a sit-down meal(in this specific case, breakfast) while you wait for your delayed flight, go for it. I had the biscuits with sausage gravy. The biscuits were those kind that you can hide under fatty, delicious, you-can’t-mess-this-up gravy: sort of hard, not very flavorful, but it didn’t matter under that mess of gravy. The coffee was fine, and you can get refills. The service was good as well, they helped each other out. There are also screens where you can catch up on the game. I don’t know anything about it’s lunch, dinner or booze menus.

Interesting little place, it’s trying to be a wine and spirits oasis in the RDU airport. If you are into wine then this is a place to hit if you are at this airport. Good service and the food was decent. Kind of pricey, but it’s an upscale place in an airport, read as captive audience, so that’s to be expected. If you are traveling with clients then I would definitely take them here as compared to some chain joint.

So, she had me at «I need to see your ID» because why?! «We have to card anyone who looks under 35». Miss, you know how to work your way to getting a great tip. I had their Classic Burger with some Chardonnay Mushrooms and cheese and their sea salt fries — I was starving, yes, and thank GOD I ate well(ended up stuck a couple of hours later on the plane at IAD for two hours due to massive thunderstorms and THEN flew for five hours) — that burger is good enough to turn a vegetarian. The star off is for the wine. I’d asked for a white(prior to knowing what I was going to order) which I figured, should go fine with anything, but I got the wrong wine, which was a lot drier and didn’t really go at all, sadly enough. And it’s not like I know enough about wine yet to say«the oak-y taste was more wood-sy and just didn’t have that hint of xx I was looking for(like songs, if it’s good, it’s good regardless of the content), so for me to say it was difficult to enjoy it given what I was eating, might want to listen. :) I told her it was okay(she did offer to change it) but if you guys advertise yourself as a wine bar-ish type of place, that type of mistake shouldn’t happen. My humble opinion. On the whole, though, fantastic place to hang out and eat when you have time at the airport. Or you’re even a little rushed, because they serve quickly.

I can’t believe I’m doing this, but I just gave 5 stars to an airport restaurant, and in RDU of all places. I came in looking for a decent meal after an arduous business trip, and Carolina Vintages wowed me. The bbq pork sliders were MOIST, FLAVORFUL, and just the right size. There was also some delectable cabbage incorporated into the meat. The sweet potato fries were also very, very, very good. And all this for a measly $ 12. Plus the waitress, Kristin, was mad cute.

The fare is above average for airport food. I came through here for work, and I was determined to make healthier eating selections during my travels. With a lot of time to kill at RDU, I walked the entire Terminal 2 and decided that the fare appeared freshest and classiest here. I had the cobb salad with basalmic vinaigrette and topped with steak, and it hit the spot. I enjoyed the steak. The salad was also served with a generous piece of cornbread. I ended up coming back here to eat on my way out of RDU a few days later, and had the seafood scampi. It wasn’t as satisfying as my steak cobb on the prior visit, nor what I would really categorize under my «eat healthier» mission(I knew this going in, but was still hoping for a better pasta to butter ratio when I ordered), and I thought the portion size was on the small side… I was so hungry by the time my flight landed in Dallas, and I kept thinking how I would have stretched my dollar more if I had just gone to Jason’s Deli across the way and ordered a sandwich. I don’t really recommend this item… but I liked the bread. And as is always important when dining at an airport… the food came out quickly, and even though I wasn’t in a hurry on either visit, I came and left the place within 30 minutes. Some boisterous pilots were hanging out here on my visit, and seemed in no rush, though. Hope they weren’t having wine.

Carolina Vintages is located across from Gate 3 in the new terminal two of RDU. I’m so happy my regular flight has moved from the old terminal to the new section of terminal 2. There are sooo many new places to eat at vs the very limited selections in the old terminal. The restaurant is brand new and looks similar to some of the other wine bar restaurants you see in other airports. The place isn’t huge, maybe 15 tables and a bar that seats maybe 10 people. Well lit and the staff was very pleasant. I tried the pulled pork sliders. Three sliders with pulled pork, micro onion rings and cold slaw. Fries on the side. I have to say the sliders were damn good. Except for maybe one or two other airport places I’ve at maybe just about the best thing I’ve ate in a airport! Super tasty and all of the components worked well together. The fries are on the smaller side and were served hot and right out of the fryer. Price was very reasonable for airport food. Good selections of beer both on tap and by the bottle. I’m not a big fan of drinking wine when I travel but the by the glass selection seemed pretty good. I’m a repeat customer for sure!
