There is no way this is a 3.5 star hotel, and it’s definitely not«all suites.» Booked here on Hotwire based on all suite billing, needed a true suite for my family of five for the week. Their version of a suite is a slightly larger than average hotel room. Seriously. Exact same layout as traditional room, but about 6 feet longer. The bathroom was the size of a postage stamp and has that horrible design wherein the door cannot be closed unless one is in the shower. Dirty, dusty, yucky furnishings. Slow internet. Don’t get me started on breakfast.

I’m staying here on business for 2 weeks. My room is clean, the bathroom is roomy which I like and the bed is really very comfy. However, the front desk staff is less than friendly and helpful. Upon my arrival I was desperate for a bottle of water. There is only one vending machine working in the hotel and it wouldn’t take dollar bills. So I go back to the front desk to ask for change and the clerk had disappeared. After exactly 9 minutes of waiting(and 2 other guests had arrived to check in, by the way) the clerk comes back and couldn’t care less that she had a line and we got no greeting from her. I asked for quarters and she gave them without saying a word to me. I get back to the machine for my water and of course it is sold out. I ask the clerk if there are is any bottled water anywhere else and she said«nope.» And that was all she had to say. There are multiple out of order signs including in one of the side entrance doors. Each time I pass the front desk going or coming, no one bothers to greet me or even acknowledge my presence as a guest. I haven’t eaten the«breakfast» because it looks just wrong. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the room is decent. But customer service is absolutely lacking here.

My car was broken into and thousands of dollars of electronics and golf equipment was stolen. Appeared to be inside job since security camera had two hour blank spot conveniently at the time of the crime. Terrible neighborhood and shady employees. Not recommended!

Our company help a two day training meeting here. We used the Carolina & Duke meeting rooms, which are located on the lower level. This is a convenient arrangement for businesses using both rooms as you are not dealing with any hotel guests or other hotel traffic. The meeting rooms have access to their own rest rooms on the same level. We were able to set the heat/ac to our liking. The hotel has a tight parking lot with quirky slopes and odd angles. Since I live locally and did not stay at the facility I cannot review the guest rooms.

Clean overall. HOWEVER … a bag of dirty laundry was missing on check-out morning. Head of housekeeping was to contact manager. No resolution @ checkout. I left contact info & itemized list of items with value of $ 65. Had to contact hotel twice to get manager’s attention, who offered $ 35. When I asked him to consider a compromise of $ 50, he refused to budge. A stay here is risky.

Rooms were roomy and clean and service was efficient and pleasant. I strongly recommend against eating the complimentary breakfast, which consisted of rubbery hard-boiled eggs, a bizarre self waffle maker that at least caused a lot of laughs in the dining room, sausage biscuits, rolls and cereal.
