I’ve been using CompostNow for about half a year now, and I have to say I love it! The folks at CN make it so easy to do good for the community and your bodies. Ever since I started composting, I’ve started eating healthier(more fruits and veggies) because I like seeing my bin full every week! The system is also very well thought out. Since this is a service is usually geared towards apartment/small home dwellers, they have the option of donating your soil to a local community garden which is was I selected. At $ 25 a month, I cannot complain about such a great and thorough service! Also it is easy to change it up if you decide you want to keep your soil one month, and even easier if you are moving and need to change your service address. I definitely recommend CN – the great people who started it should be proud of such a successful community oriented model.

Love CompostNow. We’ve been using them for a couple years now. Absolute beautiful concept for those of us who mean well and want to do the right thing… but just don’t have the land, the time. Love that between CompostNow and City of Raleigh recycling, some weeks we don’t even take down our big trash bin! No Brainer… do it.

«My friend, who’s used them for a couple of years, told me about this service. Initially I thought it wouldn’t be worth it b/c we don’t generate enough kitchen waste. BOYWAS I WRONG! With the list of things they take we are now filling up 2 bins in a week. Napkins, paper plates, paper food containers and they even take pizza boxes! Between composting and recycling we now only take the trash out once a week~and it’s not crammed full. Go on their website and look at what they do and how you benefit. I’m so glad I signed us up!

Easiest way to get apartment dwellers or lazy people(like me) to compost! Here’s how it works: they drop a 5-gallon lined bucket on your doorstep. You put your food waste(and paper waste) in there, instead of the trash. You put it on your porch the next week, and they replace it with a new bin. Once you’ve earned some soil, you get that in return for your efforts. Which, frankly, are laughably minimal. The lid takes some finesse and getting used to, but it’s easy once you have the hang of it. CompostNow works with a large-scale family-run composting facility here in NC, so you can compost a whole slew of things you couldn’t do in a home bin/heap(meat, oils, bones, dairy, citrus peels, «compostable» cups and forks, etc.). Between food and candy-making, we’ve diverted 1 – 2 bags of trash a week for a 3-person household. $ 25/month for weekly pick-up. You can request an additional bin if you have more waste than a single bin’s worth. The folks who run it are friendly, passionate, and extremely knowledgeable. What more reason do you need? Maybe this: the EPA estimates that 27% of all solid waste could be composted. Almost a third less junk going into your local landfill. If you recycle, that’s even more junk being diverted. Easy choice.

Love Compost Now! I love how affordable and easy the service is! It’s amazing much we have cut down on our«trash». At this point we are only having to take our regular trash down tot he curb every other week(my husband loves that!). I cant wait to get our first beautiful soil to use in the garden!

I’ve been using Compost Now for about six months now. I live in an apartment & I feel great composting a lot of my garbage instead of throwing it out. I’ve even composted old cotton sheets that weren’t nice enough to send to Goodwill. Once a week I get a fresh new compost bin, it’s just like having a compost fairy! You can request fresh compost once a month, but I haven’t been gardening lately so I’ve opted to pass my free soil bags on to a community garden.
