When I came to Will my hair was a disaster thanks to a gal I had gone to for almost 8 years!!! She destroyed my hair the first few years she blamed it on hormones!!! Really!!! When I met Will all that changes I have been going to him since June 2014 WOW WHAT A FEW MONTHS DOES!!! Will is the Master of Curly hair! He is an amazing amazing man! I will never yes never go to anyone else as long as I am in NC area! If you have curly hair there is no one who can do it better so don’t walk Run to Will now!!! And if you need cold ask him about TRACY OMG talk about another best find Tracy is the Queen of color! Amazing Amazing! That other hair gal was cutting and coloring my hair she destroyed it Tracy brought me back to life! Will and Tracy what a Team!!! Fabulous as no others! Thank you Will and Tracy you Rock!!!

I’ve been a Deva Curl lady for longer than some of the products have existed, and I spent years going to Deva Stylists while living in NYC. Will is truly at the top of the pack. He sat with me and discussed my goals (that I wasn’t able to clearly define myself), and we didn’t just talk about it for a few minutes, look at a picture and then jump right into the chair. Oh no. Will is so thorough and an artist. I’ve found my Hair Home at The Curl Lounge and oh it feels so good to look this fly in this head of curls! Thank you Will!

After several years of having my medium length curly hair sculpted (it is not your average cut at all) by William, I would not go anywhere else. He is amazing!
When I first heard about the «Deva Concept cut» from a neighbor, who was flying to NY City to get this type of cut, I was intrigued, but skeptical about the cost and if it would work on my crazy hair. She told me she only had to have her hair cut every six months. At that time, I was getting my hair cut every 4 weeks to keep it looking decent because it grows so fast and I sincerely doubted that I could ever go for more than 6 weeks without a hair cut. But, since the Deva Concepts process was now available in Raleigh at The Curl Lounge, I decided it was worth a try at least once. I’ve never gone anywhere else since that first visit with William.
I now go to The Curl Lounge about every 4 months or so and always look forward to it. William takes about 2 hours to wash, hydrate, and carefully dry my hair so that the curls all fall into their natural form. He then goes through and cuts it curl-​by-​curl, looking at the individual curls in context of the overall natural shape of my total head of hair. I walk out of The Curl Lounge with amazing curls that are easy to care for and look great. So well worth it and, as it turns out, the cost averaged out over the year means I spend less per year than I used to with a regular haircut.
I also really appreciate that The Curl Lounge is a single chair location, so it is just William and one client at a time. He has made it a very attractive, quiet, and relaxing atmosphere with 100% focused individual attention. The only challenge might be that William is very sought after, so getting onto his client list may take some time, depending on his current schedule. I found it well worth the wait!
Oh, and by the way, the neighbor no longer flys to NY City to get her Deva Concepts cut done there. She now gets it done by William right here in Raleigh.

Having lived in SF, NYC, and Vancouver you’d expect to have a favorite stylist in a large city but honestly William has been the best…
To sum it up — ‘attention to detail’. He’s like an artist not satisfied until perfection is reached.

Calling all curly girls!!!
I’ve been coming to Will for 2 years now and couldn’t be happier. I have naturally curly hair and hands down he is THE BEST. He takes his work seriously and takes his time with you — this is not a run of the mill salon! A couple things you need to know:
1) The appointments range from 1 ½ — 2 ½ hrs depending on how long/​thick your hair is. This time includes consultation, wash, cut, dry/​style. Each consultation is unique as every curly girl is unique. He uses on deva curl products — which you really should be using if you’re a curly girl, but he doesn’t force it on you… he’s never pushy with his products. I always buy something though because his prices are the best in town and he always has the latest/​greatest additions.
2) He cuts your hair dry — one curl at a time, hence the time alotment above. This is the Deva Curl way — he was trained by the best, Lorraine Massey herself!
3) You will only need to get your hair cut every 4 – 6 months. I was one of those people that ued to go every 8 – 10 weeks whether I needed it or not. With Will, he shapes it so nicely that the shape grows with your hair so you won’t have those unruly hair days for at least 4 – 5 months.
4) He’s expensive — it’ll run you $ 130 and up for a hair cut, BUT you’re only going 2 – 3 times a year and it’s worth EVERY penny.
5) It’s a little tricky to find. It’s on St. Mary’s behind Bliss Salon. It’s a backdoor entrance.
I simply cannot recommend The Curl Lounge enough! Will is amazing. If you’re a curly girl, stop looking and come here!

I am a curly girl and I needed a curly hair sculpture artist — William Champagne is that man. He is my hair’s guardian angle fighting away frizz and bad hair days. He only uses Deva Concepts products, which is a great product for the heat and humidity of the south. I owe my hair to William. Thank you!
