This is a great late night place. When it’s 3am and my roommates and I are starving, this is our go-to place to chill. As a vegetarian, it can be limiting, but I am very fond of the mac & cheese calzone, I love the macaroni inside the nice delicious dough! A plain cheese calzone can edge on the side of overly greasy for me, but the mozzarella sticks are nice. We have always had friendly service and delivery is quick and easy. Overall, I recommend this place purely as it is meant to be enjoyed. with friends & great conversation.

Vegetarians beware. I ordered a spinner(spinach, mozz., ricotta, garlic) I didn’t realize until after I bit into the calzone that there was chicken in it. The manager I spoke to seemed very indifferent, blaming whomever made it with mixing it up with a similar one with chicken in it… pretty big mix up. The fries I ordered were soggy, under cooked, and tasted like they had been sitting in an open bag in the freezer for who knows how long. I will never order from this place again.

Delicious calzones! Every one is awesome, I had lo-cal, broccoli, cheddar, mozzarella and garlic! An NC State student favorite!

My daughter told me about this place, so we gave it a try for a late lunch. My chicken bacon calzone was delicious, a plentiful portion, and the marinara sauce was excellent. I took half home and my hubby tried it also and declared it wonderful. We’ll go back, but probably after the rush of the new school year settles down. My only complaint is the fact they don’t have an ice dispenser for their drinks. The sell drinks in bottle only.

This place is a great go-to for a filling meal under $ 10. All the calzones are delicious and they let you add whatever you want to personalize it(small fee but worth it). Comes with marinara sauce and the delivery is quick(they’ll tell you 30 – 40 mins but it’s almost always under 30 for us). Also — agree with a fellow reviewer on here that these calzones are NOT greasy at all — which is AWESOME!

Located between a hookah bar and a small movie theater that sells alcoholic beverages, this calzone shop is always a solid option. I’ve never really explored the menu as I usually just opt for the«Roni»(short for pepperoni). They are open until 4am, just in case you are nocturnal. The calzones are typically quite greasy and sizable, but what good calzone isn’t? Also, they offer 2 calzones for $ 10 every Tuesday. Just don’t ask for the Tuesday deal on a day that isn’t Tuesday — the kid working there doesn’t find it amusing.

This is the best. Crave pizza but sauce isn’t your thing, call DP Dough. Calzones are the best with tons of mozzarella and toppings. Blu Cheese is the best I have ever tasted. Tried the wings and they were mild but huge on flavor! Totally the best pizza in a pocket.

I have ordered from here a number of times throughout my experience at NC State and since my friends enjoy this restaurant/they deliver. Unfortunately I am a vegetarian and their vegetables are not very fresh or tastey. I think that my personal choice in ingredients has impacted my experience at this establishment significantly, and I would recommend it for meat eaters. I know a number of people who swear by DP Dough, however I will not spend anymore money here due to my past experiences.

So I give this place 5 stars for many reasons; First, it fits what it’s supposed to be, which is a college students go to at 3 am when everything else is closed. Delivery is fast(they have a bar rush from 2 – 4 so expect it to take longer.) There’s nothing better than being intoxicated and having dp dough. Also the owner is awesome and let’s people put their art on the wall for purchase I totally recommend the dough shack! It’s not fine dining but it does what it’s supposed to!

Great calzones! 59 different kinds and many unique combinations. Price is relatively cheap especially for the size. Huge calzones that have great flavor! Sure to fill you up. Great place to eat although seating is limited and there may be a bit of a wait since they are made to order. Fresh!

SERVICEWASCRAP. So my room mate and I were studying late and decided that we wanted to get some DP dough calzones because they apparently have«good service» and«fast delivery». We ordered takeout and played phone tag with two incompetent employees about the status of our order for 2HOURS!!! At about the hour mark the lady told us that it was on its way, which was a lie and she knew it. After calling a few more times we actually found someone who figured out that the order was«lost in delivery» and was taken back to the restaurant. There was no apology or refund for waiting for 2 hours. Once the food got to us, it was cold, undercooked, and quite honestly, tasted awful. Long story short, they may have had an off night, but still, they were very unprofessional and unorganized. I have a hard time convincing myself to try here again when Jimmy johns is right around the corner.

This is a real late night gem in a land of McDonalds and Taco Bell. The calzones and strombolis are really good, but if that isn’t your thing then you can’t go wrong with the wings either.

Solid four stars. We had three different calzones and all were very good. We ordered and ate them in the restaurant while they were hot and fresh. Crust was perfect with the right amount of «crusty edge.» Sauce was just the right mix of classic calzone sauce with a bit of a surprise ‘finish.’ Cheese Calz was my fav. Hamzone was delicious too. We will be back. Time to open one in Charlotte!

Yeah so I really think the people that gave this place a shot and didn’t like it are the picky type bc my friends and I tried this place and it was amazing! Service was great the food was awesome and I can’t wait to go back! The calzone was huge, the dough was crispy and not soggy or bland. The filling was perfect the cheese and meat were so good as melted together perfectly

This place has very good calzones. It is a hidden gem. Catered to college kids due to the hours of operation and great for carryout for us grownups. I can’t believe I have not checked out this place until now. Its a great place to grab a calzone when you have no plans for lunch or dinner. Good and fast! I would recommend takeout simply because they serve drinks by the bottle instead of fountain soft drinks.

I’ve tried this place a few times, but it never lives up to expectations… The calzones are ok, but you can get better. Their virtue is that they’re not too expensive, but you can order better pizza for cheaper. But it’s fine for late-night study sessions, etc. It has its place.

I just tried this place for the first time so granted, I haven’t tried more calzones but the one I ordered just wasn’t good at all. I was craving Mac & cheese & made the mistake of ordering it in a calzone. It was dry & the cheese was almost non existent. Very disappointed. I give it 2 stars though because the apple pie calzone was pretty good and they’ll bring you a pint of Ben & Jerry’s. They also have late hours so if you’re up late night & craving pizza or sweets this is an option. Just don’t order the Mac & cheese calzone.

Updating my review… «I’ve loved DP dough since I first had it about 6 years ago at Ohio U. Can’t be happier that there’s on at NC State now. Buffalo zone is my go-to after some drinks at night(or the morning after)… or both? ha. « Adding: Lots of extra charges — delivery, for ranch, etc… lame.

Three in the morning. You’re craving some food and don’t feel like driving anywhere or nuking anything in the microwave. Not many options available for delivery at that hour; but now there’s a new one, at least if you live near the NC State Campus: D.P. Dough, a chain whose specialty is Calzones DP Dough has Calzones. Lots of them. All at one price, although for a bit more, if you can’t find one with the right combination of fillings, you can add extra items for a bit more. There’s even a larger size available, but again, the larger ones are all at one price, too. Each is served with a sauce for dunking. You can choose from a basic classic, veggie, chicken, beef, pork and then check the menu for various fillings included with the main choice. It’s a good alternative to pizza or burgers but if you’re getting takeout, call ahead since it takes about 10 – 15 minutes to prepare. I’ve been here twice, both times for lunch, and it really does help to call first if you’re crunched for time. The Italian and the buffalo calzones are okay and very filling. You won’t leave hungry. It’s decent food, reasonably priced, and since the menu says they deliver until«at least» 3 a.m. you won’t need to be hungry on the way back from your night of revelry. They don’t have their sign outside, yet, but if you can find the movie theater and cup-of-joe, you’ll find DP Dough next door.
