Everybody’s been mentioning the concept of this shindig; and rightfully so! Pure brilliance. Not only is it a great environment to have a drink and be surrounded by the latest trends but also quite brilliant on a business standpoint — I found after two glasses of wine I was more than eager to try on the clothes I had been eying when I first walked in. We started out our first UYE Ladies Night at this establishment and quickly found ourselves oogling over drinks and dresses. I think between all of us we tried a good selection of the house cocktails and all seemed happy as clams(if clams are notorious for being little buzzed and like doing shots of patron). The boutique offers a nice selection of clothes but I was bummed to see there were more men’s options than ladies. I spoke to the lovely bartender, Scotty, before some of the ladies arrived and was informed that they are planning a revamp of the store so hopefully in said revamp more ladies clothes will be added! By the end of our visit half of us ended up walking out of the store with a purchase of clothes or jewelry. Note: the jewelry selection is pretty bad ass! All in all, I really liked this place and shall return!

I came here for their Hope for Haiti event, raising money for earthquake victims. It was a flurry of artist improv, drinks, free cupcakes and cute clothes. What more can a girl ask for? Dapper is a great edition to the area and they have a lot of unique pieces, not just for women, but for men as well. However, «uniqueness» does come with a higher price tag, which is to be expected with small boutiques. I think having a bar within a clothing store is an awesome concept and one that I’m sure many will soon be a fan of if they aren’t already. I agree with Christina G. in that it’s nice that they have just as many selections for men as they do women. So, there’s something for everybody. I did not purchase an alcoholic drink while I was there, however, all my friends who did order one did say their drinks were on the weaker side. As in, less alcohol(the expensive stuff) and more soda. Other than that, our experience was great and I’d definitely go back to shop again.

I can’t believe I lost out on the FTR(kudos, KD, kudos). So I’ve been so crazy about this concept: a clothing store combined with a bar. Brilliant! Gals can do a girls’ night and stalk new outfits over wine. Or boyfriends can drink a beer while their better-half shops. Actually, at Dapper(befitting the name), guys can do some shopping of their own! One of my favorite things about this new boutique is that they don’t shaft the men on selection — in fact, I think they actually stocked more guys’ clothes than girls. A variety of contemporary brands like J Brand priced around what you might see at Gena Chandler and Uniquities Mix. Great addition to downtown, which desperately needs more local shops. And I think they’re doing a lot right with their awesome events(trunk shows! artist improv!), cute bartenders & nightly drink specials. I look forward to checking in on the(hopefully growing!) selection. And the swing. I reeeeeally want to try out the swing.

This boutique and bar is such a great concept. It’s just what downtown Raleigh needs. Not only does Dapper offer plenty of the latest fashion trends but they offer a pretty great bar selection as well. Who wouldn’t want to sip on a drink while they shop around? I really like how active they are for First Friday events as well. The management and staff are always very friendly when I pop in to see the new lines they are carrying. To anyone living in the downtown area I high recommend stopping in to see what all the rave is with this cool new clothing store!
