Worse experience ever! I wont be stepping in there again — Besides being an unpleasant experience, it’s over priced, I usually pay $ 5 to $ 6 dollars for each highlight, they charged me $ 11.25 for each.

I walked in on a rainy Friday & asked how much a relaxer was. The young boy came back & said $ 70! Still expensive but slightly cheaper than another local Dominican Salon. There were only 2 people in the salon that were finishing up so I thought hey I might as well. I got in the chair & Erlina’s daughter proceeds to tell me that I can’t get a relaxer because it was too soon & my hair had color. I told her it was semi permanent and she said ‘no it’s not’! Then I said yes it is and showed her a picture on google. I also looked up the last time I had a relaxer & it was 8 weeks ago. So she proceeded to put the relaxer in, and she took forever! My hair was already burning before she got to the last section to relax. She finally rinsed out the area that was burning & used diluted vinegar that burned me even more. The salon was getting busier and somehow 3 – 5 people finished before me! The dryer went off after an hour and she made me sit under it for 20 more minutes. Needless to say I was at the salon from 2:15−7 pm, left with sores all around my hairline & as I was getting ready to pay, the boy at the front told me there was an extra $ 2 charge for using a debit card. Customer service doesn’t exist at Erlina’s.

If you value your hair, good quality products, attention to detail, and customer service — THISISNOTTHEPLACETOGO. I have been 3 times — the first time the haircut was crooked, and the hair color did not take on the grey hairs. I tried a second time with another stylist, and although the haircut was improved, she cut too much and the hair color did not take on the grey hairs. I decided to go back to have them fix the grey hairs and the problem got worse. Needless to say, they wanted to charge, they pretended the color was same although my roots were now copper red and my ends brown, and in the end, the grey hairs were still showing. I walked out when i realized they were not interested in addressing the problems but instead looking for a way to add services to charge me for. Yes — they are cheaper than most salons, but 50% of stylists don’t have licenses and as the old adage states — you get what you pay for. so, I repeat — If you value your hair, good quality products, attention to detail, and customer service — THISISNOTTHEPLACETOGO.

They are really nice but really hard on hair. Everyone doesn’t have kinky hair and you can’t treat all textures the same. Not sure I will go back… wayyyy to much heat on your hair. Some hair textures don’t require that.

I visited the New Bern Ave location yesterday to try a Dominican blowout. The service was quick. I was in and out in a couple hours. The women were also friendly. They speak Spanish primarily, but can speak English fine. I do have bit of a sore scalp from a few close dryer/brush burns, but my hair is super silky without the use of chemicals. I didn’t particularly care for how my hair was detangled because she did it from the root down rather than working up. Other than that, they provide an awesome base for you to style further when you get home. The curl stying with the flat iron wasn’t my favorite, but my hair was silky straight and moved easily after leaving. I’d definitely go back.

Wonderful Dominican salon for a great blow out, wash and set or whatever you please. They have never disappointed me regardless if I go to the one off of craftsman drive or off of New Bern Ave. if you don’t speak Spanish it’s alright always someone there to help. For a mixed girl with difficult thick hair I love them and great prices. Always walk out feeling like a million bucks.

I came to erlinas by shear courage. I have been wanting to straighten my hair for some time but I was soo nervous to go to the salon since being natural. My hairdresser was extremely nice. While there I got a Dominican blowout and a trim because of my uneven and split ends. My hair looked amazing! It was a nice switch up to see how long my hair gotten as while as a refreshing change to my look. I don’t straighten my hair often but when I occasionally do I will consider coming back and asking for Melissa!!!

Been to this salon plenty of times and decided to visit it yesterday to get my hair done for Thanksgiving. I have never experienced anything less than exceptional service. Yesterday, I had stylist, Maria, do my hair. She showed great attention to me and went to extremes to make sure I was comfortable. I have 3C naturally curly hair and my hair came out beautiful, shiny, and I couldn’t stop touching it! Of course, when she blew out my hair and straighten it she burnt my sensitive spots, but that is bound to happen wherever you go to get a Dominican blow-out. The price of beauty is pain. Definitely will come back here to get my hair done when I am in town!

I went back here and the customer service completely turned me off. After going to the pool a lot, my hair was very dry and looked horrible, so I decided to get it done. I went walked in and asked for a roller set and the owner said I couldn’t do that because my hair would hold them. I told her that I’ve been doing them all my life and know my hair better than her. The hair stylist was very sweet and did a great job(the only reason this isn’t a one star review). My hair looked great after and when I went to pay the owner said that she was surprised because she thought that my hair was kinky when I walked in, how rude! I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t go to beauty salons to get insulted that way. In addition, there’s a firing range next door and when they’re open you can here shots in the salon. This experience was a big turn off.
