Extended Stay America – Raleigh – North Raleigh

ZERO stars! DO NOT STAY HERE!
Last minute trip to Raleigh and on short notice, this was the cheapest hotel we could see paying for 2 nights without regretting it!
Big mistake, spend the extra money on a nicer hotel!
Check in was fast and friendly but there is where it stopped!
Booked a NON Smoking room, as soon as we got off the chipping off paint filled elevator the smell of cigarettes was overwhelming! We thought we had the wrong floor or that maybe the smell will pass as we get near our room! Ahh, NOPE! All the rooms we passed to get to our at the end of the hallway had no smoking signs on the doors! Seems like no one pays attention to those rules!
Then after a day of exploring, we came back to a floor that instead of smelling of cigarettes wrecked of fried fish!!! What in the world???
The rooms are even harder to discribe!
Just buckle up and spend the extra money for a nicer hotel, this was more a waste of my money! Bathrooms unclean, moldy shower curtain, no hair dryer, no tissues for runny noses and paper thin toilet paper!
Kitchen was what you would expect, but not clean! Room stunk and bed seemed clean, but sleep fully clothed and above the sheets!
Recommendation: STAY AWAY!

Could not recommended!. My first and last stay at Extended Stay. Staff was friendly. Bathroom dirty with coffee in sink and long black hairs in floor and tub. Hope i don’t get bed bugs or lice.

also want to add inadequate cookware. vermin in the room. smelly rooms. noisy rooms cigarette holes in the sheets. smelly halls. very rude unprofessional staff members, yesterday upon checkout me and a ups worker had to wait for someone, so the ups man went around in the hallway knocked on a door no response, so he tried again no response, the third time someone came… still waiting for corporate reply???

So we ended up here after a problem at a different local hotel. The front desk person was very nice and was able to get us a room to fit us well. And the lobby looks really nice and promising.
Unfortunately the room/​building is in very poorly maintained condition. It seems clean but once you really look, not so much. I found a bottle cap under the telephone, the desk chair is filthy. The walls needed re-​painting a long time ago and the carpet is torn up and worn out. The bathroom also needs to be fixed/​redone, it is worn out and stained.
The beds were kinda comfortable and contrary to other post there in fact was toilet paper and two trash cans in the room. The refrigerator and counters were clean.

This is one of those reviews where I wouldn’t want to give the place a 1 star.
I’m not sure where to begin-​noisy and very crass hotel guests (that’s the nicest way I can put that) that hang out in the hallways and outside all the time, creaky appliances including a malfunctioning A/​C, poor housekeeping (i.e. how do you not have toilet paper in a room when some one checks in or a trash can or I could go on), unprofessional (seriously) staff.
It appears the Extended Stay America franchise is really going/​has already gone downhill.

We booked hotel online and asked repeatedly if hotel rooms with 2 beds were queens beds. We were assured yes the double rooms had queen beds. Guess what? No queens in the double rooms. Then they offered us 2 rooms for price of one and assured us they were non-​smoking rooms. First room we entered was occupied and wreaked of cigarette smoke. We were also assured that the single was a queen bed. Guess what? Not a queen, a double again! The common areas are dark and dingy. The desk clerk was courteous and apologetic but it doesn’t change the ratty quality of the room/​hotel. Will probably never consider staying at an Extended Stay Hotel again. Also, they advertise free wifi but if you want good speed internet access you need to pay $ 3 for the higher quality access.
All things considered it is a dump!

Well, nothing spectacular. No one came to vacuum or change the sheets in three weeks although they were supposed to do it once a week. You have to go get your own toilet paper, trash bags, and soap. School buses were dropping kids off here too, kind of low class. I’d give 2.5 but I round up.

Perfect that I am the 1^st to review:
I thought I got out of the military and military style rooms.
No comfort what so ever. It was a room. That was it.
No shampoo in the rooms.
My toilet was dirty when i checked in, there was trash under the AC.
The people who stayed there were borderline welfare recepients. I didnt feel safe and I am a big boy.
My fault for letting my company pick the cheapest hotel in the area.
Never again. Do not stay here unless you are looking to do something illegal or you need to meet your mistress and no one will ever see you.
