Glam Lounge

Great place!
I first heard of Glam Lounge when I asked someone in my gym class where she got her beautiful hair colored. She mentioned this place and I looked into it. To be honest, when I first visited, I was surprised by its off-​the-​beaten path location and unpretentious building.
Dawn gave me a cut and color. She’s very nice and patient, and her baby is SO cute! (He was sleeping in his little carseat when I was there.) Being my first time, the color didn’t turn out as blonde as I had requested so Dawn worked with me to get it right. The final product is JUST what I was looking for and am very pleased with it. Ahh!
Looking forward to my next visit. The price is very reasonable for the quality of service you get.

I moved to Raleigh from South Florida last year and was scared I would not find a hair salon that lives up to my standards. I went to a place in Crabtree Mall that was okay but not great. Then I used a groupon to go to Glam Lounge. I got 6−8″ cut off, base color and light high-​lights. Loved it! Dawn took into account everything I told her about my cowlicks, preferences, etc. She was nice and talkative, something I usually don’t like to do, but I found myself talking away. The place is small but cozy with a hip vibe and each room has a different color. Plenty of current magazines to keep you occupied too. Finally, Dawn had a book in the waiting room detailing her trip to Moscow. When I asked her about it, turns out she is/​was on the US Haircutting Team (or something like that). She placed 3^rd at that competition and the person who taught her hairstyling is the coach of the US team! I highly recommend the place. I’ve been back for a color touch-​up and have an appt for a trim next month before a wedding. I’m also trying to convince everyone I know to give her a try.

I went to Glam Lounge equipped with a Groupon as I usually don’t pay that much for a haircut and was extremely pleased with the entire experience.
The building itself is rather shabby and off the beaten path, but once inside I immediately felt the intimacy and laid-​back vibe of the salon. I was admittedly weary of the haircut as I am extremely picky and have had more than my share of unfavorable cuts, even at super pricey salons.
I gave Debra an idea of what I wanted– a trim and more bangs to better frame my Tyra forehead– and an hour later after a perfect not-​too-​short trim and meticulous tiny scissor shaping, my hair looked AMAZING. This is the first time I haven’t secretly freaked out about a haircut in at least 2 years.
After I was finished, Dawn helped me pick out two products based on my concerns about the summer fro-​inducing humidity and my need for a new hairspray. I was weary again to purchase products as they are Glam Lounge’s own line (I’m typically dependent on reading reviews before beauty product purchases), but the laminating gel is like sunshine in a bottle for my straightening needs, and the hairspray is the perfect balance of hold and flexibility. I love this place, and I still get compliments on my hair almost every day.

I absolutely LOVE going to Glam Lounge and getting my hair done. Debbie does an awesome job and I get compliments for weeks after a visit. I strongly recommend going.

I went there to get my hair done for a special occasion. The style was pretty terrible and nothing like what I asked for — I even brought pictures. In general the guy seemed like he was very unconcerned and distracted. The curl stayed nicely but I had to redo the whole thing. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
