Wow.
After going to different barbers in town and trying a range of stylists all over the city and never really being satisfied with something as important as my haircut… I can say I’ve finally found the man.
Full disclosure, I have very fine and straight hair and it’s a pain to get a good haircut. It takes more than just running a guard over it and calling it a day, which is what most Barbers and Stylists do when I pay them.
I could tell from the first few minutes of sitting in William’s chair I was getting quality. He was doing several passes and actually blending the hair to fit my head. I was at ease, and he progressed with a great cut and blend. My hair can really be tricky, and it hides uneven spots, which I usually find after my cut — but William got the job done and I’m very pleased.
He was also a joy to talk to. We talked about the art of men’s haircuts, being a barber, and lots of playoff basketball. The interior of his shop is also very relaxing, clean, and minimal. It’s nice as a guy to have a masculine environment to get such a valuable service.
And then, after a fantastic cut, he hits me with a rock bottom price! Cheapest in price, yet best haircut I’ve had since I’ve moved to Raleigh 6 years ago.
Pride in the art will bring the business!

After three years searching for a men’s barber in Raleigh who can give an expert straight razor shave, I can now stop looking. William is your man if you are looking for a classic men’s barbershop experience. He is very thorough and precise and obviously takes great pride in how he practices his profession. And, he is a very friendly guy who enjoys his craft. Only downside is that you will likely need to make an appointment at least a week in advance, but he is well worth the wait. I will definitely be back even though it is a half hour car ride for me to get there.

Just moved down to the Raleigh area a few weeks ago and immediately went to Unilocal for some advice on a Barber. Went to William for the first time today, and to say I was impressed would be an understatement. He is an overall just cool dude and his work is unmatched. Even though it was my first time there, I felt like I had known him for years. His shop is a single chair studio and it was the cleanest shop I’ve ever seen. You can tell he takes incredible pride in his work, and as long as I live in this area, I will not be going anywhere else.

William is an excellent barber. I got the Elite Shave/​Haircut and the experience has finally convinced me to not return to those chain stores. William was meticulous and thorough with his haircut, not missing a single stray hair. The shave was the best I’ve ever had; it was painless and I left his shop feeling smoother than a baby’s bottom.
On top of the excellent barber services, we actually had a conversation, not the awkward small talk that I’ve experienced at other places. I would highly recommend you experience it for yourself.

I used to just go to one of those chain stores to get my hair cut but then I found Glenwood South Barberstudio and met it’s owner, William. My first time in I got the Elite Shave, which includes a haircut and a full shave, and I have been going back ever since. The small space and jazz music provide for a very relaxing and mellow atmosphere in a one of a kind barbershop.
William knows his stuff; from the art of shaving (which he will give you a history of if you ask) to the perfect haircut, he has it down. William also teaches barbering locally which proves just how passionate he is about his craft. Next time you need a trim or a shave, give William a call.

Had the pleasure of getting a haircut and shave this afternoon and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere is professional yet very comfortable, and he is one of the most professional and quality barbers I have ever met. It’s rare, to find someone who takes such pride in there quality of work. If I could rate higher than five stars I definitely would, this shop should be a benchmark for other barber shops.

I’ve been getting my hair cut from William for over three years now and he’s always done an excellent job. I’ve even given him the honor to shave my head when it comes time (I’m going bald). He’s always there to greet you with a smile on his face and genuinely cares about how you’re doing.
His haircuts are impeccable, I used to live right around the corner but have moved to Durham and I will not find anyone else to cut my hair. His customer service is beyond any I’ve ever experienced. On occasion I’ll recieve a text with a reminder, or if I need to reschedule he always fits me in. I can’t say enough good things about William and how good of a barber he is.
