Wow! I was in town from NYC and decided to get my hair done while in Raleigh(NYC cuts and color are super expensive). I had heard great things about Dana and I’m glad I found her. She did me up right! Cut is on point with exactly what I asked for, and highlights and color even better than I could have imagined. Already got compliments on my new look too! Go see Dana!

If you enjoy bad customer service and complete distrust from a salon ask for Rose. If I had to rate this company I would have rated it as no stars. Rose the manager, is not accommodating or respectful, she has very poor social skills and her customer service is equivalent to that of a rest stop bathroom. I have never had an experience like I had with this person, she was not pleasant, cordial, argumentative, and unprofessional. I would like to note that the front desk receptionist Danielle, is very sweet and tried to mediate the situation, whereas Rose chose to hang up on me(unheard of from a salon to my recollection). If I were the owner of this salon I would seriously consider promoting Danielle to management as she is a polite, courteous person versus her boss who presents herself to be quite distasteful.

Found this place after going to 2 other stylists in my 7 mos in Raleigh and not being satisfied with my cut. Soooo glad I came here and had an appointment with Gail! She cut and styled my hair even better than I expected, tweaking the pictures I brought in to better flatter my face and hair texture. I have a hard time finding stylists that know how to texture short hair and Gail did it beautifully! Also very easy going and pleasant to speak with and let me know all she was doing along the way. Thanks Gail!

Ermmm… erm. So, after horribly dyeing my hair(myself) almost black while trying to go chocolate brown(I’m naturally blonde), I went here to try and get it fixed in any way possible. I was paired up with Gail(Gayle?). She’s supposedly an expert level hairstylist. I had a consultation with Gail, and my appointment was set for the next day at 11. I get there at 11 and am offered wine, so I take some, because cool. Once I go back for my appointment, however, I am completely overcome by this woman’s attitude. I understand that she’s from up north, but what the hell? She literally said to me, «Once women have a Gail haircut, they never go to anyone else.» Yeah, get over yourself, lady. Once she was done«color correcting» my hair, she trimmed the dead ends off. Once it was dry, it was just as dark as before. I understand that I signed a waiver, but geeeez. NOTHING was different, even though she was trying to convince me that it was! In the end, I ended up paying $ 230 for absolutely nothing except hair that was more damaged than before. ALSO, this lady is a chain-smoker! GEEEEZ. Every time I had to sit in the chair for more than 10 minutes, this woman would go outside and smoke like a train. Basically, if you go here for a color correction, don’t go with Gail. She is supposedly a top-level stylist with the salon, but obviously, titles sometimes go further than execution. Womp womp. About a year after this experience, after I got married, I got my hair dyed at a salon, and it turned out a little darker than I wanted it. Because of this, and after extensive research, I bought Color Oops hair color remover from Sally beauty supply… and it worked WAY better than my salon visit to Haircolor Xperts did. Just buy toner for after the color is stripped and you will seriously have basically the color you want… for about $ 200 cheaper. No exaggeration.

If you’re reading this, you’re likely salon shopping so let’s get down to brass tax: Color, crown highlights, some lowlights and a haircut set me back almost three hours and just over $ 200. Quite pricey and a rather long time? You betcha. *******UPDATE****** My expert color faded in less than two weeks. I opted to go home for a decent color and cut rather than return here. In the very unlikely event I ever did return, it would be for a blowout and nothing else.

This place is wonderful! After a botched highlight at another salon, I called for corrective coloring and was set up with Oreanne. She is a miracle worker. I will never go to another salon in Raleigh.

Originally I am from New York City and am generally very picky about my hair, after having had so many amazing and terrible hair cuts I am always nervous when going somewhere new. I am in Raleigh now for school and was ready to get a new hair style and start fresh with my hair as I am starting fresh with where I am living. I originally had an appointment at another salon, and had not even heard of this one. Two hours before my appointment at the other place I got a call from them saying that my stylist decided not to come into work that day and therefore couldn’t do my hair. They apologized terribly, but as a busy college student with limited time where I am able to do nice things for myself like get my hair cut, I was flustered to say the least. I started looking up salons and desperately calling until I found this one and like I hoped they were able to take my very last minute for a haircut. I had an appointment with Annita, and it was one of the best haircuts I have ever had. She sat at listened to my ideas and listened to my worries about my hair and understood exactly what I wanted. She made sure to keep asking me if I liked what she was doing as my haircut went on, to make sure that she wasn’t cutting it too close for me. We ended up talking practically every second of my appointment and though we were different in age and came from very different places, we had a lot in common from our past and our drive and what we believed and it only made my appointment better. I’m a college student on a budget and she understood of course and I thought the price was very reasonable for the haircut that I got. I originally had very long hair with color in it and ended up getting almost all of it cut off and was definitely very hesitant in it. But now I absolutely love it and can’t stop touching it and looking in the mirror. I will definitely go back to Annita next time I need anything done to my hair and refer everyone that I know to her or at least the salon. It’s also just right over in Cameron Village which is extremely convenient to get to, and then totally has the bonus of being able to shop after you get this hair done. Can’t stop raving about this place, should have more reviews and should come up sooner when searching for hair places on here.

I took a leap of faith after a botched haircut and color from another salon. I called in yesterday spoke with Jess and asked could I meet with a hairstylist for a consultation she accommodated me immediately — I met with Erin and explained to her what I was looking for, she asked a lot of questions as far as what I was looking for in a correction, I showed her some pictures of the color and cut I was looking for after about 20 minutes I felt comfortable enough that she could help me so I asked her how soon could I get an appointment… She was able to fit me in the very next day as her last appt. I was really nervous — but she quickly calmed my nerves with taking baby steps and explaining everything to me step by step, I did not feel rushed or like I was a burden. ABSOLUTELYAMAZING — I would highly recommend to my family, friends, and you :) My hair went from frizzed up blonde highlights to beautiful shiny dark auburn in my first appointment — I have found my new hairstylist — THANKYOUSOMUCHERINYOUAREMYHAIRANGEL ;)

I went in for a simple cut. While my hair looks fine, my stylist didn’t do at all what I asked her to. She cut so much off that I didn’t ask her to fix it because I didn’t have enough hair left for her to do what I had asked for. Again, my hair looks fine, the salon is nice, but be incredibly specific with what you want if you go here. I will not be going back.

I am originally from Pennsylvania and had a very hard time finding a regular hair stylist once I moved to Raleigh. But my search is now over! I’ve been going to Oreanne for a year now, so it’s officially long term relationship status :) I go every few months for a cut and partial highlights and she always gives me exactly what I want, be it a certain cut, or a color change. I have had issues with highlights that were too chunky, our too blonde before, but not with Oreanne! It looks so natural and I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair. She is also fun and easy to chat with. I highly recommend her!

I recently moved here from Florida and had been putting off finding a stylist. I can be very picky and was scared to try someone new after being with the same stylist for the past 20 years. I found Haircolorxperts on an app on my phone. They had great reviews so I decided to give them a try. I just couldn’t put off cutting my unruly hair one more day. They got me scheduled with Allison very quickly! I went to my appointment today terrified and reluctant. Allison soon put me at ease with her friendly personality and easy attitude. My fears didn’t seem to intimidate her at all. I have red hair and I am very particular about the color. The first time she did it, it was too light. She cut my hair and then fixed my color. The second time was a perfect match to what I wanted. And did I mention that I got the best haircut of my life? The service here is excellent and the amenities are comfortable! Well worth the trip! I highly recommend and I will be back!

Dana Anderson is wonderful and I would highly recommend her! She is young and hip and genuinely cared about what I wanted my hair to look like. She did a great job on my long, blonde hair, it’s super light, just the way I like it. I’m going back to see her for sure!

Allison did a wonderful job cutting my hair! I looks good if I blow it dry or let it air dry. It is absolutely perfect and stylish. I even went to bed with wet hair and it looked good when I woke up!

Got an AMAZING blowout from Cathy last night. Today I can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror! And the prices can’t be beat. I am *really* glad I found this place.

I just moved here from NY and this is officially my first Raleigh review — ohhhh dadddddy!!! Basically Erin is fantastic and I think we should be friends in real life. She was efficient but not rushed, friendly and talkative without being annoying(you know how«those» people can be), and just a cool person to chill with for a couple hours while she gives you some pretty hair. I told her I was new to the area and she asked me about my style and what I like to do, and then gave me tons of amazing bar, restaurant, shopping, and other Raleigh-fun-things suggestions that were all spot on for what I’m looking for down here. Homegirl has good taste! Prices are totally reasonable, salon is clean and nice with a little bit of an edge, and it’s at a convenient location. Hair turned out perfect — I gave her very little direction and she took it and went with it, which is typically how I roll, and I was super happy with the results. I definitely recommend this place in general and Erin specifically!

It was waaaaayy too long since I’ve had a haircut(trim, rather) and I am pretty cheap so I got on the internet to see if I could find a nice balance between price and quality. After a few sites that were out of my price range or were places that men normally get haircuts(you know what I mean!) I came across Haircolorxperts. There are 3 levels of experienced hairstylists and the prices range from $ 35-$ 55. My hair style is not complicated and I wasn’t looking for a completely new style, so I booked a $ 35 hair stylist. When I arrived, I was early and my hairstylist was not there yet; apparently she was stuck in traffic. The receptionist offered me a glass of water while I waited. I gotta say, I love the way salons smell. Anywho, after about 10 – 15 minutes my stylist shows up. I’m not mad at all. I really liked her because she was a talker. I like it when they talk to me because I feel weird when they don’t. I feel like they’re ignoring me. All in all, I was very satisfied with the trim and I will def come back in 3 or 4 months. UPDATE: So I was at my job and a lady with wavy/curly hair similar to mine asks where I get my hair cut. Ladies with hair like ours have an unspoken bond, I think. And with that unspoken bond is an equally hard time finding a hairstylist that can cut our hair properly without making us look like we have a mop on our heads. Erin is this person. You need to know her!
