Do not recommend this place. Service is indifferent, management doesn’t care, food is average.

This place has severely gone down hill since they have switched to new management. Don’t get me wrong the food is AMAZING, when they get your order right. I’ve been here several times in the past 3 years, as I work right down the street, and have never had a bad experience until the last 2 times I have gone. There are all new employees the vibe is still that of a Mexican restaurant(not complaining about that) but what I am complaining about is the lack of customer service. Last time I ordered a to-go order they got it wrong, so today when I was making a to-go order I decided to go into the restaurant(instead of calling it in) and tell them the order because I could possibly be more specific in person. My exact words to the gentleman taking the order«I would like 4 enchiladas 2 cheese, 2 chicken» and I repeated myself 3 times on this. My coworker was with me as well and was very specific with her order also«2 chimichangas, 1 chicken and 1 beef» he said ok and brought us our orders and we did not think to check our orders considering we told him specifically what we wanted multiple times. When we got back to work and opened our boxes of food, both were wrong. I had 2 enchiladas and she had 1 chimichanga. I called the manager to inform him of the situation and he was very rude and said«it’s lunch we serve lunch» … needless to say he need some lessons in management and customer satisfaction. I am sad to say, I will never return to this business again.

I get a specific item for take out pretty regularly, but they always seem to screw it up. Very nice people and the food is really great, but staff lacks a bit of professionalism at times.

Favorite Mexican restaurant ever! The food is authentic and the cocktails are to die for!!! Don’t expect fast drink service, they actually take their time and prepare your drinks correctly(trust me I use to bartend and I my only specialty was a red bull vodka) Also if your into your tequila this is your place! Go see Nicole at the bar, she’s awesome !!!

Service was marginal. Food was over price and not worth it. Charged 1.50 for a little extra cheese and wanted to charge extra for sour cream and lettuce. Would not recommend and will not go back.

Not sure what the negative reviews are about lately, but the food here is great. Just went in this past week and had a seasonal dish, chiles en nogada. It was a ground pork-stuffed poblano pepper with fruits and nuts in a walnut sauce topped with pomegranate seeds. It was absolutely delicious! I hope they add it to the menu because it was great. They also had hibiscus and cinnamon margaritas. I like that they are adding dishes to the menu that are different from standard Mexican restaurants. And our server, MJ, was very friendly and helpful too!

Would have given 4 stars except for our group-on experience. We tried this restaurant because of the group-on. We got the drink special: our waitress told us they were 2.99 then she came back and said 4.99, but we still said Ok. We had to wait forever to get them. We were halfway through our food. Then when we got our bill they had put the beers which we had waited forever to get up to full price! They claimed their computer wouldn’t allow us to get a special with a group-on. That is just a bad way to treat a customer. I have never had a restaurant put specials on drinks back to full price with a group-on.

Where do I start… they have chimichangas to die for. Every time I go the service is perfect, the food is delicious and the chips and salsa always tastes fresh as ever! Don’t miss out on La Rancherita! My favorite Mexican food restaurant in the triangle.

Coworkers suggested that we lunch at La Racherita today. I have dinned there a few times years ago and was not looking forward to heavy, greasy Mexican fare. I was pleasantly surprised by this establishment. The interior of the restaurant looked similar; the feel of the place was different. Upbeat music and great service from MJ. MJ indicated that the restaurant is under new management and it shows. I picked the tinga tacos with corn tortillas. The tortillas had a blueish hue that I thought was nice. The presentation was very nice– employing a corn shuck. The tacos were excellent; on par with Ganza Taco y Tequila. I did not have an opportunity to check the tequila menu. I will be returning for dinner soon and will have a drink. This place is worth a visit.

Had lunch here today. The special fish dish was the best ever. MJ was our waiter and was great. He explained the different dishes and what he highly recommended. He was right. Very friendly service and really nice background music Bob & Rhia.

I’m not even sure what to post. We went there on National Taco day and were blown away at hot bad the food and service were. The food was bland, not cooked to service and out 90 seconds after ordering — grilled chicken, guac salad, beans, and rice but our order was wrong they had two servers come by to figure out how to bring over a extra side that was ordered and after bringing us a ramiken of corn, honestly we laughed, they brought the side of can corn warmed up in the microwave with some aioli and paprika on top and charged us 3.99 for it. I eat out a lot… The servers weren’t rude or hard to find, but they didn’t know what was going on and the quality of products did not equal the price for the food. After a year this is the first place officially off the list.

Horrible take out experience. First, my husband went directly to the restaurant to order take out because in the past when we have called they either don’t answer or they put you on hold and never come back. He ordered me a veggie fajita quesadilla with no tomatoes. The menu says it comes with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Mine came with broccoli, 2 pieces of zucchini, 1 piece of tomato and 3 pieces of chicken! I ordered the veggie because I do not eat meat! We also ordered quest dip and it was hard like it had been sitting out. That was the LAST time we will ever go there. It’s also way over priced and not quality food. Go to Gonza Tacos y Tequila or Salt and Lime… much better food and worth the price.

Excellent service. Our waiter went out of his way to make sure we had what we wanted. Yummy food! Fun atmosphere. Clean. We will come back!

This is our go-to neighborhood Mexican place. There’s nothing very unique about it but that’s okay because it is exactly what you expect it to be. The food has been consistently good and the service has always been satisfactory. The prices are on par with other similar places. I appreciate the chips and salsa are always good which is enough to make or break a Mexican restaurant for me. The dip trio is a good call also. Good solid neighborhood place if you’re in the market for that.

See my other post it should teach me to read Unilocal before going to a place…14.99 marg with ZERO alcohol and the waiter said«I’m sorry» when we questioned the price since it was a listed special I’m like sorry really??? That doesn’t pay the bill does it.

I would give zero stars if i could. Went in to a nice poster of the Watermelon Margarita on the specials to find out that it was 14.99 $. We asked to see a manager and he came over from the bar(which he was watching the soccer game hanging out) to barter with us. First he said it was the bartender mistake because he only put 1.5 oz of alcohol in it. 1.5 oz of alcohol in a 14.99 $ margarita. Then we said no way we were paying, after arguing back and forth he said it will be half off. 7 $ off isn’t half off a 14.99 margarita. For a restaurant to barter with you for a mistake they made, is a joke. They know nothing about customer satisfaction. I DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACETOANYONE. Go to Dos taquitos, tacos and tequilas or any place. 60 $ dinner is a joke for a Mexican restaurant. You guys have lost a customer who lives down the street.

We love this place. It is a million times better than your typical order-by-number Mexican restaurant and you can tell they make an effort to have original items on the menu as well as the usual faves. They have a really good drink menu as well. The presentation of the food is really nice-everything is plated on nice white dishes and not all crammed together. We’ve not had a bad thing yet and we come here relatively frequently! We also have always had great service here and, you can eat here with your kids and still feel like a grown up. :) we highly recommend la rancherita!

La Rancherita Six Forks should really be called«La Juanita!» Juanita is an amazing server – each time that we have come and been served by her(and we frequent La Rancherita often) our experience has been fun and memorable! Her service is fantastic and her knowledge of the menu/specials/best drinks is beyond impressive. Give this girl a raise. She absolutely carries the«La Rancherita» brand to a whole different level than any other«La Rancherita» restaurant that I’ve visited in The Triangle(including both Crabtree & Apex) Thank you, Juanita! You always make us smile! OH, and of course, the FOOD is also fantastic! –Jeff, Will & Ryan :-)

We just moved to the area and we’ve been desperately seeking a decent Mexican restaurant. This one looked promising but just wasn’t meeting all standards. The salsa wasn’t bad. It was still mostly just tomato purée but it had all the right ingredients, maybe just not enough. It wasn’t overly sweet and was a bit tangy. Not really spicy at all. We had to push it around a bit to see even one pepper seed. The chips were decent though. Overall, the food wasn’t great. My husband had a wet burrito and I had the lunch portion of steak fajitas. To me, the fajitas were bland. Tasting a steak bit by itself, I could tell that they maybe marinate the meat and it had flavor. But with a tortilla and such, the flavor was completely gone. I ended up using the table salsa with it to have any taste. The portion was good however, and it was just the right amount to fill me up without becoming uncomfortable. The burrito just had cheese that was very close to a bland mozzarella, the meat was in a similar state as the fajita meat, and the sauce on top seemed like it was just more table salsa. The rice was okay but the beans weren’t great either. The beans could have used spices or if they weren’t worried about being lean, use the traditional lard. I did a stint in the Pacific Northwest and the Mexican food is terrible up there. This place is better. But not by much. If PNW Mexican food is bottom of the barrel, you do not want to be just slightly above that. Mexican food shouldn’t be bland. But bonus points for having the right ingredients at least. Service though was pretty spot on. Hostess didn’t seem to communicate to the waitress that she had a new table since most of the activity was bar-side so we were left by our lonesome for a while. But after she got to us, she was very attentive the rest of the meal and was pleasant. TL;DR: Food sadly devoid of flavor, still on the hunt for good Mexican food.

It’s been a long time since we’ve been here(don’t know why), but Husband was craving Mexican, so this fit the bill nicely. Especially considering it was $ 5 Margarita night(Saturday), and that included even the premium ones! So, each of us got a Blood Orange one and they were very refreshing and delicious. Not too sweet. Made me want something spicy to go with it. Chips & Salsa, by the way were quite good. Warm salty chips, salsa with a slight kick, onion for tang and texture and fresh cilantro. The menu has changed again since the last time we’d been, with many great-sounding things to try, but some special burritos were calling out to each of us. I don’t remember the names of them(and I couldn’t find the menus on their website). Restaurants should really have full menus on their websites in this day and age, imho! Anyway, Husband’s was full of beans, rice, bacon, and guacamole, topped with cheese, a tomatillo sauce and skirt steak. Served with a choice of salad or sweet potato fries. He chose the salad, which was pretty much just shredded lettuce, with a few small strips of colored tortillas.(no dressing). Salsa made for a perfectly respectable dressing. I chose a Burrito that was full of rice, beans, and chicken, topped with a spicy cream sauce and big beautiful shrimp. I only made it through half of mine, but it was delicious, and Husband loved his… ALL of it… hah!(of course, he had done two hours at the gym to the only one I had done). Service was excellent… charming server who even told us «It was a pleasure to serve you tonight», which was a pleasure to hear. Love the giant comfy booths they have also! They are especially useful considering the giant portions!
