Tried the jerk chicken tacos and the BLT with fried green tomatoes(BLFGT). Both were underwhelming. I like spicy food but the jerk sauce was too spicy for me to enjoy. The tacos were soggy with sauce and fell apart quickly.

I love food trucks. From Manna LLC, I had the fried pickles and onion rings. They also have sandwiches which I have not tried yet. I am giving them a four because the health score was only a 96. Food truck or brick and mortar I want to eat food from a safe vendor.

We split a sampler at the Durham food truck rodeo. It was okay, but not awesome. The sampler was advertised as a falafel slider, a fried pimiento cheese slider, and a jerk chicken taco. The falafel patty came on a plain hamburger bun. The sandwich wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything special. It was also a little on the dry side. It was supposed to have tzatziki on it, but I didn’t detect very much. I asked them to leave the bacon jam off the pimiento cheese slider, but maybe all the flavor was in the bacon jam, because it was the most bland pimiento cheese sandwich I’ve ever had. It just tasted like fried cheese. Pimiento cheese from any grocery store in the area would be better. It was supposed to have pickles on it, but oddly, it seemed like mine just had cucumber. My husband reported that the chicken taco was pretty good but extremely spicy. He took one bite and then ran off to get some water. Overall, okay but not impressive food.

Be forewarned– the pictures on the website look delicious! Not so much. I had the jerk tacos, and they were SO(spicy) hot, they weren’t enjoyable. My hubby had the fish sliders, he said they were lightly fried indeed, but bland. Meh.

Pretty good, small menu. I had the fish sliders and fried zucchini and liked it a lot. The star was the siracha aioli on the sliders and served with the zucchini. Their website mentions gazpacho and a cucumber-melon soup I’d like to try – along with their fried pimento cheese sliders… Not to mention the brunch offerings apparently sometimes available: shrimp & grits and raspberry & cilantro griddle cakes…

I visited the Manna Concessions cart at the last food truck rodeo. I opted for their black bean burgers and they were good – two small sliders for $ 7. I was a little disappointed that you couldn’t just get one(hey – I like to graze when it comes to food truck rodeos). The veggie burgers were simple – a touch of mango salsa, burgers and slider buns. The buns themselves though just seemed straight out of a bag and toasted a little; the slider patties themselves were okay – standard black bean patties. Overall it was okay, but I wouldn’t stop there again unless I stumbled upon it. It’s also hard to find – they don’t update their website at all(it’s May and they still have upcoming events listed for September).

I was able to indulge in some of Manna’s Food Truck Brunch nosh this past Sunday at White Street Brewery for the Kegs and Eggs event held every Sunday from noon –3pm. Hubs and I walked up to White Street around 2pm for some brunch items and were SO excited when we saw the menu board. The top menu item that screamed out at me to give it a try was the Buckwheat Flapjacks with fresh raspberries, cilantro, and honey. Hubs got the egg biscuit with a side of home fries. As our food was being freshly prepared, we went inside White Street for a beer(hubs), and a mimosa(me) and waited a quick 3 – 4 minutes. Before we knew it, in walks our food, hot and smelling great! We both were extremely pleased with our food. It tasted to fresh and flavorful! I was so happy to have a healthy, fresh brunch item FROM A FOODTRUCK! It was amazingly delish! I heard the guy running the truck telling someone how he works all kinds of events, and does catering fro rehearsal dinners, parties, etc. I’ll be a follower of Manna and will frequent the truck if/when they are in my area!
