The best tea shop in the triangle. Great flavor choices and all the preparing and serving necessities. Great location in Lafayette village in north Raleigh.

I’ve been in here once and that will be it for me. The man, which I presumed to be the owner, immediately started asking me questions about what I was looking for, and was pushing me to buy to the point that I was offended and, a little creeped out. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough!

Not open Monday, very pushy sales, and not much more than pretty pricy loose tea. Sorry but just not what I had expected.

This is my Favorite Tea Shop! Advantage: You can buy one Cup and see what you think before buying a Quantity! Smell the Tea! These Teas smell so good I have trouble deciding which one to taste next! I have consumed(fast for Tea) at least five flavors so far and ALL have been Perfekt! Beautiful Tea Pots, Drinking Vessels and Tea Tools! Also you can get it to go or stay and relax and enjoy! Berry Vanilla Rooibos was one of the first I had here… Very Nice! Peachy Keen(second visit we had a 12 oz cup here, third Visit we got an Ounce [dry] to make at home… It was just like she made it in the Store)! Delicious! Great looking Shop in the Far-Corner of Lafayette Village between«Ora» and where«The Village Sculptor» used to be. Friendly Owners! Relaxed and Relaxing to browse the store! The Lady usually Helps us!

So, my relationship with tea has generally been ambivalent. And it’s not even just tea that gets the cold shoulder. I’m not a big coffee person, and don’t drink sodas or even juice.(If you’re thinking that only leaves booze, um, you pretty much pegged me ;) But I know there are health benefits and calming effects associated with tea… I can always use a serenity boost, so I figured it might be time to expand my tea exposure, and add to the collection of green and spice I keep in my cabinet. I don’t think I could have picked a better place to broaden my horizons. The couple running the shop are chatty and make you feel at home the moment you step in. «Care for some tea?» Why, yes! There were three available for me to sample, and I really enjoyed the cucumber-mojito. They opened up a few blends for me to smell, and I chose one that smelled citrusy and invigorating(Tangy Thai), and one of the top-sellers on the board(Mango & Papaya). I think both are probably served best iced, but I had the latter hot today, and it was tasty too. No pushers here. In fact, they encouraged me to get fairly small amounts, and let me know exactly how many cups that amount would yield. They hand-write the recommended water temp and steep time on each bag, so you’ll know just what to do when you whip it out at home. Disclaimer: While I was getting my order rung up, I was asked what I do for a living; I told them I work for Unilocal, and that I came to learn about their business through a Talk thread.
