The ambience, décor, nail color options are amazing! I didn’t have the best experience but after calling and expressing my concerns the staff called my local salon to cover a new gel mani and pedi. Unfortunately, my local salon forgot to mention this to me but I’m impressed by the customer service and that they cared enough to take the time to resolve the issue. Thank you Paintbar for this and in the future will suggest my friends give them a try as my experience could have been just an off day.

Great shop! It’s hard to miss if you’re looking for a sign above the store — I only saw a small sign on the windows. But it’s right underneath the large apartment complex, The Devon. I walked in and was promptly greeted and offered complimentary white or red wine, Prosecco or water. I had Tracie who was great! She has years of experience and is a pro. I enjoyed our conversation too. Interior is beautiful. Feels spa-like. I loved my manicure, which was $ 25(not gel). I wish I knew that the addition of a design on 10 fingers was an extra $ 15 but I only found out with the bill. So all in, including tip, it was $ 48. I hardly get manicures and it was for a special event(NYE) so it was fine but still a bit of sticker shock. I got a base color and gold ombré powder on all fingers, with gold foil on two nails.(Added a photo.) However, I hope that their employees see most of that money and I’m glad to see it wasn’t «slave labor» you hear about at nail salons these days. Street parking is around there, free of charge. You may want to make an appointment — they can get busy, especially during holidays!

I came into the paintbar for the first time and asked for a pedicure. Nothing was said to me about their options for a pedicure I just picked out a color and sat in the chair. When I went to check out the woman at the front desk says, so you got the signature pedicure that will be 40 dollars. I said no just the regular pedicure I was never told of a signature pedicure. She specified that that’s what they put me down for. I would never pay 40 dollars for a pedicure I would have never chosen that I just wanted a simple pedicure(which is still overpriced at 30 dollars). Because of the confusion she gave me 10% off which came to 36 dollars– still way more than I would have paid and unfair to the customer considering I never asked for a «signature pedicure» and was simply booked as that for some reason other than to make more money I can only assume. The pedicure itself was very nice and well done but because of the customer service, by what seemed to be the owners, I will most likely never return.

I am picky about how my nails are done and I haven’t found anywhere that wowed me. Its really hard to find someone that can carefully do your nails in a stylish manner while still protecting your nail base. K did an amazing job! She looked at a picture of a couple of nail designs and created something I liked even better! The salon is very clean and a fun girly posh place. They carry mainly carry OPI and have Chanel and another brand of nail polish RPG that is lower in chemical content. I’m a gel nail polish person for durability so didn’t try it, but the colors look awesome.

Paint Bar is gorgeous. If you want 5 star service, this is where you go. Yes, it’s a bit pricier, but you truly get what you pay for and it’s totally worth it. Would definitely recommend to any friends/fellow Unilocalers.

The worst experience. No one says hello, eyes were being rolled, blank stares. Most uncomfortable nail salon ever. I was questioned for asking for three coats of nail polish. She rolled her eyes and couldn’t believe I would ask such a thing. I even asked for a nail color recommendation and if I could test a couple colors on my nail before picking and I received so much sass and attitude. Never going back, definitely not worth it.

I couldn’t wait for this place to open. The adorable décor lured me in, but the friendly service will keep me coming back. The entire experience was grand and my nails are super cute. Can’t wait to have a girl’s day here with friends.

I had a great experience here. Staff was friendly; atmosphere was soothing; equipment and tools were all clean(a very big deal to me!); the quality of my manicure and pedicure were excellent; and the price was fair. They offered magazines or an iPad for web browsing, and while I stuck with a Diet Coke, other patrons took up the offer of a glass of wine. I will definitely be back!

We are really lucky to have a nail salon like Paintbar in Raleigh. I have been 2 times now and have had an excellent experience both times. One thing that sets Paintbar apart from other nail salons is that they have no jets in their foot spa, so no bacteria living in the jets awaiting your feet! They seemed to have put a lot of thought into hygiene and I am very appreciative of that! It is a really relaxing and chic atmosphere too. They also have a lot of toxin free nail polishes to choose from which is another added perk. Their prices are excellent and even if you just get a simple shellac polish change they spend a ton of time working on your nails and making you feel very pampered. I highly recommend checking them out!
