We have had an on again off again problem with our air conditioning problem on very hot days for about a month now and after being told we had to wait 2 weeks for the original installer to come out, I did some research and found Ed aka Rainbow services. The reviews all looked good so I decided to give him a shot.
He came out yesterday the 23^rd of June and approximately 2 hours later we had a fully working system. I got some education on what not to do and what to do that no one else cared to point out to me prior to this. Listen to him. He had to replace the air conditioner condensate pump, fix a damper for one of the 3 zones we have that was stuck and do a Freon top up. Good work, fair price and honest and he’ll be doing my service from this point forward.

My system had a cracked heat exchanger and was in need of replacement. The quote from the Company that diagnosed the problem seemed high. I called Rainbow, spoke with Ed for about 20 minutes, he reviewed the various systems available on the market, pros and cons. He was informative and helpful in allowing me to understanding my options. He came out looked at the current set up and installation and provided a quote that was about 20 percent cheaper than the original. He monitored the installation, tested the unit post installation and was extremely pleasant. The turn around time from conversation to install was 3 days and I have been very pleased. There is a personal touch that goes with a small owner operator Company that I found to be reassuring. I found him to be honest, experienced and very knowledgeable.

I called this company due to a high google rating and they answered quickly and came out same day. When he arrived for the $ 75 diagnostic, within 20 minutes he told me it had to be replaced. When I was asking questions to get a better understanding of why it had to be replaced he was very condescending with his answers. The quote that Rainbow provided says «Damaged beyond all repair» along with a reasonable quote to replace the unit. No options were provided to fix the current unit, only to buy the new system. (which to be fair was reasonably priced compared to other estimates)
My second opinion AC company said that it could be replaced for less than a third of the cost that Rainbow had quoted me, so I had him do the work and it has been working great. Very disappointed with my experience and would never call them again or recommend them. I thought long and hard about posting this because I know how it can negatively effect the local company, but it was my experience and thought I needed to share it.
Added another star to the first review because the company refunded the service call with an apology letter about the experience.
