Service while getting appliances(dishwasher, stove and fridge) was good. Fridge was scratched while moved into the house. realizing that service after the purchase is going to be horrible. people will not call you back and it’s on you to hunt them down etc. will not be going back for future purchases and will recommend others stay away as well. prices are good, but if noone is going to help when stuff breaks what good is it? Update — had to stay on them a little, but these guys won me over by bringing out a new fridge. Wife is happy, so I am happy. Will do business with them again!

Purchased a refrigerator from here, not installed yet so can’t say about the product yet but the service we received was great. The assistant manager, Dustin walked us through everything, explaining the differences between new, reconditioned, and returned merchandise. He helped us look at washers and dryers too even though we didn’t end up buying them there. Never felt like we were being pushed for the sale and there was definitely no hostility when we decided not to buy the washers and dryers. As far as what to expect in terms of merchandise — it’s an outlet so it carries returned and discontinued items. There’s no saying what you’ll find or what condition it’s in but the prices are reduced a lot and they have regular ‘sales’ that reduces them even more. If you’re on a budget and don’t care about the aesthetics of the appliance then it’s a great place to check out.

We bought a gas range from this store. The shopping experience itself was great, and we really liked the gentleman who helped us with our purchase. This is the reason for the generous two star rating. We also bought the three year service agreement, which was a little over $ 200. We were told that the agreement covers«everything, and at no charge,» which is one of the reasons that we purchased it. Once the unit was installed in our home, we turned it on and it immediately caught on fire. The oven was filled with flames, and my kitchen was filled with smoke. There was a huge mess to clean up, and we had to remove the door to clean up all of the soot. After removing the bottom panel, we discovered that there was packing material that was stuck in the bottom part of the unit, which was one possible cause of the fire. There was no way to see this material without taking the range apart. Now, we can’t get the door back on, nor are we sure it is safe to use the range. We think we solved the problem, but you can’t turn on the unit unless the door is attached. When I called for service, I was told that they will not even come out here unless we agree beforehand to pay whatever they charge us. I have never heard of such a thing. I told them that we purchased the service plan, but they said we would still be charged. I asked if they would give us an estimate before doing the work. Answer: «No.» “But we have to agree to pay whatever you charge us, or you won’t even come to our house?” «Yes.» «Do you understand that the unit caught on fire?» «Yes, but you took the door off.» «We took the door off because the unit caught on fire. How is that our fault?» «Ma’am, we can’t do anything about that.» «This appliance came to us in a condition that caused it to catch on fire, and now we have to pay?» «Yes.» “What is the base fee just to come out here?” «I don’t know.» «Is there an hourly rate?» «I don’t know.» «How do you determine what the charge will be?» «I don’t know.» «But we have to agree NOW to pay whatever you charge us?» «Yes.» So, I called the store directly. The first person I spoke to was reassuring. He was clearly annoyed with the repair services and told me that this has been a repeated problem with them. He even mentioned the possibility of Sears replacing the unit, which to me, seems like the logical thing to do. He then put me in contact with the store manager, whose primary goal was explaining why we had to pay for a service call. He was not interested in the fact that the unit caught on fire, and further explained that Sears was not responsible because they did not install the unit. Seriously? The first time it was turned on, it burst into flames, and the seller is not going to assume responsibility? For now, we are stuck with this giant, charred, very expensive, potentially dangerous paperweight, and we are extremely unhappy.

Shopped around for a refrigerator, found a good deal, not GREAT at the outlet store. When i got my fridge home it broke down the next day, thank God I had a warranty on it. A repairman came the next day and fixed it, before he had got 10 minutes away it broke down again. After 2 more repairs i was told to if it broke down again they would replace it. So after I flipped out they replaced my fridge, have had it for about 1 year and again it is breaking down, so we call the warranty company only to be told it will take 2 weeks to get some one out to fix it!!! NEVERAGAINWILL I BUYFROMANYSEARS!!! I called the corporate office to complain and the guy on the phone told me HEDIDNOTCARE!!! Complete crappy company! When i was a kid Sears was the place to go!!! Now i see why they are having so many finical problems!!!

The«warranties» here are basically useless. My experience on 2 occasions: bought merchandise, both failed to work within 30 days. Called warranty number. Was told by Sears reps that the outlet stores are not connected to Sears, they are franchises that are separately owned. Products from this store don’t come with the same warranty as Sears products. The sales reps here tell you it’s the same warranty… but it’s not. Called the raleigh store twice about defective product. Was told by 2 separate managers they would resolve the issue. Neither one called me back. Returned to store with defective product and was told by a sears outlet manager that their goods are basically sold«as is» and they don’t take returns. All refurb products are basically«used», eg. refrigerators smell moldy. And online listings don’t disclose all damage. Save yourself the headache and buy merchandise on sale from Lowes, Home Depot, an actual Sears store or any mainstream retailer. You may pay a little more but believe me, it will be worth it. If you really want used merchandise, stick with Craigslist.

Mehhh… you get what you pay for. We recently purchased a dishwasher and fridge for our office here. It is hard to track someone down to help you and service is slow when you check out. Prices are great for appliances you find with only one or two scratches. Be sure to study it carefully before you purchase. We paid the delivery fee and they called to confirm the delivery window and they never showed up. They called me at 9:30PM(an hour and a half after they were supposed to be at our office) apologizing for running late. We ended up having to reschedule the delivery(in which they actually showed up to).

We are purchasing a home and had to purchase a new fridge. After going to Lowes and Home Depot and being disappointed by their selection we decided to try Sears. Now back in the day Sears should use to be the shiznit but in recent years they have had trouble with customer service, etc. I actually worked for them in customer service and so I was skeptical about the service we would receive and how it would all work out in the end. You can search the Outlet store online and it will tell you what is in stock and if the item is new or slightly damaged and will even show you pictures of the dings or scratches an item has. I was impressed by this but was still on the fence about how things would be when we actually went to the store. They are located attached to a KMart and you can actually get to KMart from the Outlet side of the store, only thing that separates the two is big wall of shelves. Cool way to kill two shopping birds with one stone. My husband went in on his own first and talked with an associate and then lost track of the associate who mentioned something about a tax free weekend. But could not give specifics. I wondered if he just didn’t want to help by telling us to come back a week later. Having kids, we had to leave to grab lunch but came back soon after. While we were gone several fridges my husband had his eye on… were gone. I didn’t think waiting a week was worth it, especially since the size we were looking for did not have a ton in stock. After deciding on one, we asked the associate to ring it up. Our associate’s name was Eric… and unfortunately he was SUPERSLOW. I mean my kids were hitting their late afternoon hellion stage and he was nonchalantly ringing me up. I opted to apply for a Sears card and it took forever. While this guy was very nice, he just didn’t get in a rush about a thing. I think if the store had been on fire he would have still walked out slowly and surely. Our fridge was delivered today to our new home and I must say we were mighty impressed by the two delivery men who definitely knew what they were doing. Our frdige is pretty wide and after measuring the door ways, my husband was perplexed as to how they would get it into out kitchen. These guys were pros! Not only did they get it in, they didn’t ding the walls or doors. And they spend time telling us how the ice maker, filter, etc worked. This experience gave me hope that maybe Sears is turning things around!

This is an outlet store. Don’t expect all that much when you go in… How’s the selection? Pretty crappy, actually. Not a whole lot of diversity there, and it’s largely a crap-shoot as to what will be there on any given day. How’s the merchandise? Banged up and dinged up, and not totally guaranteed to work. I actually got a washer from here that was DOA. Not good. So why are you giving it 4 stars, Matt? Service. The service here was fantastic. AMAZING. I talked with one young woman who talked me out of getting something I’m sure I would have regretted buying. She talked me into looking at some off-brands, and pushed me in the direction of making a purchase I’m very happy with. Kudos to her. I can’t remember her name off the top of my head, but I’d shout it from the rooftops. Unfortunately, the washer I bought(I bought both a washer and dryer) was DOA. Didn’t work. I called the Sears help desk, and they said it would take four days to get someone out to even look at it, and that would be during normal business hours. I was starting a new job. Not an option to call in sick on the second day of work. So, I called the store and explained my situation. The person I talked to got me in touch with the woman who helped me, and she saved me. She got the store to do a swap and replace(free of charge) with an identical unit. And she got them to come out on a Sunday. She completely saved me. Thank god for her.
