Pizza was burnt and after a long wait. The person who took my order was also impolite — I greeted him when we were ready to order & he did not even speak … at first just looking at me. But that was OK … if the pizza had been good, which it wasn’t.

Lets be clear, when a place describes itself as New York anything you expect that NYC attitude. This place must be referring to 1980’s new york when everything smelled like warm piss and was filthy. But even the nastiest holes can sometimes have the best food, this is not to be the case here. I had their stuffed Sicilian meat pizza. I regret that. Their crust is so blackened that you taste more charcoal than pizza. Their presentation makes it appear to be a dried lump of bread with the thinnest possible slices of meat and cheese between them. Indeed this is what it is. The flavorless crust mingled with charcoal overpowers the store bought ingredients and leaves you with an underwhelming sense of regret at eating here. Do yourself a favor, go next door to smash burger or moes and save yourself from mediocrity at its finest.

As I write, we have been sitting at the bar for 20 minutes. I ordered a pizza to go and told the cashier that we wanted a beer. Since we sat down, not one of the four young men has offered us anything. We even asked one of them if they sold beer and he didn’t respond. The bar was covered with dirty dishes and empty beer cups, so we know someone got something to drink. Pizza is okay, but for a $ 14 medium pepperoni, it should be frickin’ fantastic! Another staff member sat beside us and ate his burger, from somewhere else. Just really don’t seem to care about their customers.

We ordered a pie and wings last night and by far it was the worst I have ever, ever had. For starters the crust was stale, hard as a rock, the sauce had this taste of what seemed like it was the unwanted leftovers of the bottom of the pot. The chicken wings where boiled, the skin was so soggy and the texture was gruesome the sauce that these things they call chicken wings swam in was store bought. Mind you we asked for extra crispy. They should have mentioned that they only boil them ;/ I’m not sure what bothered me the most. My husband a native born and raised in Brooklyn NY that is still complaining about the horrible meal or the actual crappie pie and wings. We’ll keep looking for that authentic NY style pizza. For sure this place is NOT.

*This is for take out only* A late® Friday night & boo & I wanted pizza, but it was about 9:15& all the nearby spots I wanted had closed at 9. A quick Unilocal search & enter in NY Pizza, who closes at 10. Yay for online ordering, but I decided to call. A young sounding gentleman took my order & as usual, misunderstood my name. After we got that sorted out, I made my order of the meat supreme pizza. While they told me it would take 20 minutes, it took closer to 30. Upon getting it home(about a 7 minute drive), I was pleased. We both enjoyed the crust & the full on toppings.

My first impression of this place was very poor, with warm(not hot) and bland pizza, loud rowdy night staff, and poor customer service. The kid had trouble with the register and no one told me about the VIP program($ 1 = 1 point) so I lost all the points I’d have earned that night. But I got an email with a coupon for a free small pizza(for signing up as a VIP) so I figured I’d give it another chance. It was much better the second time around — perhaps because it was day time — and now I come once or twice a week for a get hot slices. They don’t seem to offer heroes though. I wanted to try a chicken parm hero. The meatballs are not good. Might try the panetto someday.

Love the buffalo chicken pizza. Had it twice already. I was skeptical, being from New York, but the crust was actually thin, AND baked fully through, unlike others claiming to be «NY pizza», :-) I will be going back!

Used to be my favorite pizza place. A few weeks ago ordered a carry out and when I got home it was burned on the bottom. First time I was every dissatisfied so I pretty much let it slide. Tried them again tonight, and the same result… burned bottom. Strike two, you guys are out.

Good pizza but when I pulled up the cook was standing outside smoking a cigarette and what disappointed me I notice the gentleman walk in and was going to prepare my pizza without attempting to wash his hands. I politely asked him to wash his hands and he seemed to have an attitude about it. Not a good look in a restaurant business.

In my opinion The Original NY Pizza in Falls Village does not know how to make Pizza and I suspect they do not know they are an actual business. Called in my order and arrived at the appointed time and had to wait over 30 minutes for it to be ready. I literally saw people come in after me and order at the register and get their pizza before I got mine. Plus they got my order wrong and burned the edges of the Sicilian pizza. We tried to eat it but ended up throwing it out. Toppings were skimpy and lacked flavor or spice as did the sauce. There are maybe 10 other pizza places within a few minutes and these incompetents rank dead last for taste, quality, speed, and value.

My second visit was much better, with crust and toppings properly made. Good quality cheese and crisp NY style crust.

Came here with my dog for just a few slices and ate on their nice covered patio. The waitress was friendly and helpful, prices were very reasonable(I got their Monday special of two slices and a soda for $ 6.45 total!). It was an enjoyable weeknight break. I will definitely come back.

Closest to NY pizza I’ve had in Raleigh. Tastes authentic and great thin crust. Also delivers as an added bonus.

Didn’t care for the crust on the pizza or the knots at all. Crispy on the outside, but still raw in the center.

Best pizza in Raleigh so far… hands down. And by that i mean most like a real ny pizza pie. And they do sicilian slices & pies! Not too many pizza parlours around here make sicilian.

I lived in New York for a few years and I often miss the taste of a fresh, hot, thin slice. Tonight, I was taken back to my memory of a true NY pizza. The crust is crunchy, the slice is thin, the sauce is slightly sweet and the cheese to sauce ratio is perfect. I would highly recommend this place. I ordered 2 slices(one cheese, one pepperoni) and a side salad. The pizza was great, but the salad left a lot to be desired. They also have beer and wine and cheap prices on both. Come give it a try! I’ll be back for sure.

My wife and I love going to NY Pizza for lunch. We have been there numerous times and I should have written a review much sooner. Their two slices of Pizza and a drink is a great value. We both really love their Pizza. The other thing that is nice is that they have the same CORE staff in place which is nice to see familiar faces each time we go in rather than a whole new crew. Although we live far outside their delivery area, they do deliver.

We love this place and when we are craving good, true NY style pizza? This is our spot! The staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that they put in tables and chairs that don’t make so much noise when you pull them on the floor. The best thing on the menu, hands down are the garlic knots. They are hot and have just the right amount of garlic and cheese and oil. To. Die. For. They also have a bar with a decent selection and TV’s with all the major games on. The place isn’t huge but we always go when there aren’t many folks and haven’t been disappointed yet.

Love it. I’m a calzone guy and they made it to perfection. The vibe is pretty great as well. It’s got a neat little bar, a cozy outdoor dining area and they play great tunes. It captures NY pizza well and even adds a tad of gourmet to the mix. Good place and will be going back!

Headed home Wednesday night and the Lady wanted pizza so dropped in for my first time at NY Pizza. I’m really not going to be too critical after only one visit but come on guys, you don’t leave a customer sitting at the bar for 10 minutes without even saying Hello when there are 5 of you behiond the counter and only one other customer in the shop. Finally the guy making pizzas motioned to someone that a customer was just sitting there. The pizza was good, the sauce could have been jazzed up a bit but the cheese/sauce ratio was right on and the toppings were fresh. I’ll give em another shot at customer service and try some additional menu items and see if they can become my North Raleigh favorite.
