Tinder Box

I am so glad this place has survived all of the changes at Crabtree. The staff here is amazing especially Larry! He makes excellent recommendations and remembers the cigars I like. They have a lovely pipe tobacco selection as well. Customer service is above and beyond. It’s my go-​to shop for stocking up the humidor.

Honestly I just called to see if they had the e-​cigarette I was looking for and the man who answered was very helpful even told me where to go to get what I want, which was so great he didn’t have to help me knowing that he didn’t have what I was looking for but he took the time to help anyways. Awesome staff#

I love the Tinder Box for one reason: the staff. They are incredible. Larry, in particular, is incredible. Over the last several months he has guided me through various recommendations with various types of cigars. He has helped me learn so much about cigars. He once brought me a cigar from his own stash and gave it to me for free, just for the hell of it. Um… I did not know service could even go to such great heights.
I could not recommend this place enough. Especially if you are a noob, Larry and the others will help you find great cigars that fit your palette and preferences.

If anyone has enjoyed a cigar or pipe, they have experiences with a Tinder Box near them. They are pretty much in most malls that I know of. This one in Crabtree Valley Mall is one I frequent to look at their cigar selection.
The main reason I go here sometimes (I admit I like the locally owned cigar stores best) is their very friendly and helpful staff. Always ready to help, always answers questions, and always there to offer a similar type if one you are looking for is not available. That counts for a lot.
The reason for not getting that elusive fifth star is unfortunately if you find a few really good cigars that you keep on going back for, when the box quantity is sold out they do not seem to restock that back. You ask about it, and they very helpfully check and confirm there are no more. This one thing is a frustration to me, I like consistency especially if I find something I like.
However, for service and a pretty good selection from a walk-​in type humidor, I do like to go by and check in these guys when I am at the mall.
Bottom line: Great service and helpful staff is their standout. Pretty good cigar selection from a walk-​in humidor. However, they do not seem to restock ones you grow to like when the box runs out (if they do, it is not immediately). But all in all, not a bad place to check in on when you are at the mall.

The staff is friendly, helpful, and patient — all good things when you are starting any new hobby. All of my questions and some I did not think of were answered and I left feeling much more confident about trying to use a pipe. I do not know how their prices compare to other stores (yet). Amazon may be cheaper, but I got a better value at Tinder Box and will continue to visit in order to continue exploring the world of smoking a pipe.
It is a bonus that their store is close to an entrance to minimize exposure to the mall. They also sell cigar boxes for $ 5.00
